Please review Ori and the will of the wisps
It's on my to-do list for sure! I actually haven't played it yet, so I'm really excited to experience it for the first time after all the great things I've heard about it!
I just want a new good Castlevania game
You and me both! Let's hope we get some good news in the near future!
I guess eryk's dash boots would perfectly fit to alethia😅
@@E.K.L_yoyan A crossover would be awesome😄
like..wtf..okay ANYBODY can make a game now
Well, that's the beauty of our time :D
Nope, still lots of random slowdown.
Hmmm, I haven't played since back then, but I'd recommend mentioning this in the Steam discussion forum of the game, so that the developer can check it out!
This seems really fun. I like it when I have to sweat more in the beginning of the game to become a more serious threat to the enemies as I progress and 8-9 hours is also a fair length as long as the story is well delivered and from what I've heard now in your review it seems like the game is quite story focused which sounds great. I'm excited to play it soon!
I hope you have fun with it!
Great and really fair review, your final score is for sure a bit higher than mine haha. Glad to hear the interrupting cutscenes didn't bother you that much! 😅
I tend to enjoy exposition since I read a lot, though I had to mention the fact that it sometimes goes overboard in this game :D That being said, my true major issue here was its incredibly low difficulty...But, overall, I was hooked by it, even though it didn't meet my initial expectations!
Ευχαριστούμε!
Thanks for your generosity!
Sad to know the game is quite easy.... I hope some dificulty options get added in future patches
I hope so too! I'd be willing to do another playthrough if they added something like that.
The game mechanics are nice in terms of combat and mobility, but the platforming and bosses were just too easy for my taste (the first boss felt harder than the last three lol)
I completely agree! The low difficulty was my greatest gripe with this game!
I don't mind an easier metroidvania every now and then. They can't all be nine sols levels of difficult. I'm glad that i'll be able to enjoy gestalt's amazing worldbuilding and lore without the frustration of dying again and again on a boss. The visuals look amazing and i do love me some steampunk every now and then. A shame the game isn't longer as this seems like on i'd wanna get lost in for hours but i'm still super excited about it and it sits among my most anticipated games still. Now only to have the time to play it (work is killing me 😅)
I hope you get to enjoy it soon! I had a blast with it despite its downsides!
Thanks for the review and video Soulsborne!!! ❤
Thanks for watching!
Seems like a case of style over substance. The game looks great, but it sounds like the fans is pretty unremarkable once you pop the hood. Might be worth picking up on sale when I have a free weekend with no other plans.
It didn't live up to my full expectations for sure, but I still consider it an incredibly fun metroidvania! If only it was harder...
There is a huge lack of different types of weapons and techniques for variety. Unfortunately, the combat system quickly becomes boring due to its monotony. There is leveling up, but throughout the game you use the same set of techniques.
I didn't really mind the lack of weapon variety because I found combat to be quite fun (you gain a few additional combo options here and there from the tree, though you probably won't find the need to use them). My biggest gripe with the game is its lack of difficulty. Especially after the first couple of hours it was a cakewalk, I was literally obliterating everything. That being said, I couldn't let the game down until I got to 100%!
@@soulsborneseekerIt's just that the metroidvania genre right now lacks either unique abilities or weapons that bring variety. But the absence of weapons could be noticed by a varied moveset, naturally raising the complexity of the game so that there is motivation to use this variety. The game is difficult, but unfortunately it is not long. Although with such a combat system it doesn’t have time to get too boring. Stunning art design, world, dialogues are not even bad for such a banal, but working story. But all this is monotonous and short in duration. I liked the game. But it lacks variety and complexity.
@@endrgar I agree, complexity is not its thing. It is also quite linear at times. As for the difficulty, just to not be misunderstood, I consider it incredibly easy, not hard!
Have you played Gestalt: Steam & Cinder yet? Are you planning to?
#4 looks cool
Indeed, MIO looks beautiful! Looking forward to playing it!
to answare your question: No.
I do not, in fact, know any of these games. Ceplion looks great, as well as a few others.
Glad you liked some of them!
Wolfhound looks cool!
Indeed! It looks like a mix of Contra and Metal Slug, but in the metroidvania genre!
@@soulsborneseeker Your're absolutely right! It's like Metal Slug metroidvania with Metal Gear influences too! This mix feels interesting and fresh!
why would they turn a PERSIAN prince into a black dude with dreadlocks??? Netflix effect
Without wanting to give away the story, trust me, they did a great and original job with the Prince! Play the game and you will see!
I wishlisted like 4 games thanks to you.
Nice! Glad you found some new titles!
Meifumado looks sick
@@JimMcNutty It really does! And it's very close to release!
I’m a little upset that Skautfold as a whole should be right up my alley with the gothic horror multi genre series with solid story, but pretty much all I hear about the games is “they’re close to being great but there’s always something major left unpolished that doesn’t let them be”
I definitely recommend the first one, I found it to be quite great, especially for a solo developer! This one was also fun, but simply didn't reach the heights it could have.
check Agnostiko Origins just don't expect a symphony of the night masterpiece, but the game is faithful in 16bit era, mechanics and limitation
I just had a look at it, it actually seems very interesting! I'll give it a shot!
Loving your detailed description of each game!
Thank you, glad you enjoyed the video!
possessors song of awakening yars rising all look great
Great choices!
using their hair like spider legs for movement - that’s a trait almost exclusive to villains. interesting
Are you referring to MIO?
No blade chimera ?
I featured it in a previous video!
@@soulsborneseeker oh I’m sorry to pester you then mr seeker
@@lemniscatelogos7917 Ahahaha, always a pleasure to interact with the community!
Pipsqueaks demo was soo good !!!
It also got successfully funded in its - still ongoing - Kickstarter campaign! Many people seem to have taken a liking to it!
Some cool-looking titles here. Faeland is a really col fantasy metroidvamia I’ve been playing. It’s 3rd chapter just released in EA.
Oh, Faeland is one of my most anticipated MVs! I'm waiting for it to leave Early Access so I can play and review it!
It saddens me greatly everyone compares this game to symphony of the night before aria of sorrow because symphony was the more popular game
Oh, I loved Aria of Sorrow! Played it on Game Boy Advance many years back, one of the best Castlevania games ever!
POSSESORS IS BY HEARTH MACHINE THATS SOOOOO HYYPPEEEEEE AAAAAAGGGHHH!!!!! They're one of my favorite developers and their game solar ash saved my life in some ways... It's a day one purchase for me <3 Regarding the video this one, moreso than your other videos contained almost exclusively amazing looking titles. There's several i knew about (like obviously possesors <3 and also memories in orbit) there's a few ones i added to my wishlist, especially song of awakening looked epic!
Oh, I remember you mentioning Solar Ash, it's how I found out about that game! Indeed, Possessor(s) looks amazing, from the art to the ambience, it's incredible! Glad you enjoyed the video!
@@soulsborneseeker heart machine is literally one of the best studios of all time, you should look up the creative genious behind it alx preston. He suffers from a rare heart condition that could kill him at any moment. It infuses their games with deep introspective philosophies about life and meaning <3
@@d00mnoodle24 Wow, I had no idea about that. Really puts many things into perspective. Damn, that's inspiring!
Please keep doing the lords good work
Will do!
Stoked on possessors
Same here! The ambience of the game is sublime!
