  One thing is being friends with a person. Another is thinking you have control over a persons thoughts or acts. Everyone wants to be in their lives and make their decisions. Being from a divorced parent and seeing all your parents went through is hard but it shouldn't make you avoid love even if it doesn't turn out well. Sorry for being harsh but I'm speaking from the heart and from life experiences.
