  Hi, no it does not work with a custom shape created with the pen tool. The preset generates its own rectangle (shape layer). You can offset the position of the corners but there will always be 4 corners.

  Make sure "paragraph mode" is checked in the effect controls, it should then work.

  @motionembassy thank you I figured it out. And I'm so in love with this plug-in. Perhaps my favorite plug-in ever. How can I animate the position. I'm hoping to make a mogart for Premiere Pro . I know I can add a composition I believe but can I still export that as a moguard I'm not sure.

  @@EdVizenor Glad you like it :) Yes, you can make a mogrt. Just add the properties you would like to change in Premiere Pro to the Essential Graphics panel (Window/Essential Graphics). From there you can export the motion graphics template. To change the position of the box you can just animate the position property of the box shape layer. If you want to change the position of the text without moving the box you can add the transform effect onto the text layer and animate the position property of the transform effect.

  Hi, it should work fine but only with latin letters. Best, you try it for free, before buying to see if it meets your requirements. The script is not tested with other alphabets but you will definitely have to set the text height to "Full Height". (Cap-Height and x-Height are based on the height of the latin letters "I" and "x")

  Sadly no, it's only set up to work in After Effects. You could however build your own mogrt but probably with some limitations.

  Thanks for creating the template, I was going to learn how but got a project due tomorrow so went ahead and bought it. How do you make the text bigger as a whole? When I parent them to a null to size it all up some of the text goes missing. Also, is it possible to have some of the text saying different things? No worries if not I'm sure I can do some masking

  Unfortunately parenting/scaling breaks the expressions. You need to adjust the font-size in the character panel and then readjust the spread in the effects panel. If you want a text saying something else you can add the following line of code right at the end of the expression of the "source text" of that text layer: newStyle; Let me know if that works for you.   This video is a gem! Very well made! Love how this effect isn't just a 'hack'. Going the extra mile to make the effect packaged neatly into one effect, and then to make it saved preset goes a long way in making this a easily repeatable. Thanks a million!

  I sorta figured a way to make this glow work with transparency; Simply turn off the "RGB Only" checkbox in CC Composite. That way, you can get the same soft glow without adding Solid Composite and forcing you to have a black background restriction.

  I got stuck on the exposure step, but don't get confused on lights and optical exposure and color correction exposure if you are not using text for the effect. I had to choose the color correction exposure for the effect to work.

  Could you explain why you chose these specific values? 66 / 27 / 12 ... They're not changing by 1/4th of the previous value as the law suggests.

  Great tutorial!! But what if I have a background instead of black? It seems that the presets of the solid composite will cover the background.

  Hey. Just take that comp in another comp which has the background and put it on add or screen. That should work.

  Hi, I suppose you have Real Glow from Jae Tools. This tutorial has nothing to do with that plugin. It merely simulates the effect using only native After Effects tools. You would have to contact their support. Cheers Chris!
