Can we just use beef as a protien instead of chicken and whatever else. Seems unnecessary
my dog refuses raw - I have tried chicken and beef (different parts and different times) and no go - she just "nudges" it around the kitchen floor - I still will offer from time to time but she lets me know it is not first choice
Super glad I found your channel and very grateful for you as a resource. I stopped discussing food choices altogether for myself and my dog. While people ask me often because of the health results achieved (I am 55 and super fit - with little excercise and no deprivation) + I brought my puppy back from edge of death (he got giardia and was very allergic to the meds AND the chicken/rice diet they prescribed) I am tired of hearing about how important carbs are and why fats are unhealthy in the quantities I include in my diet and the pup's.
I have fed homemade to my dog 6 years 4 months now alternating through variety. Meat, organ, heart, gizzards, egg, sardines, leafy greens, herbs, low glycemic veggies, butternut squash or pumpkin, blueberries or cranberries and a calcium source. Homemade bone broth, non synthetic supplement, omega 3 oil. Learned from well known online holistic/natural vets.
Wait is this per day? Or per meal?
Quick tip for those who order organs online, look for mexican grocery stores, honestly any non-american store will do. I have great luck finding kidneys, brain, liver, and even whole quail. So much cheaper to buy local, even if it takes a little gas or walking to find.
kibble is terrible for a pet. it may be the reason cancer may be exploding in pets. kibble is like eating canned foods your whole life.
I struggle to know what bones are suitable for my dog as he's only a tiny 5.5 pounds, I worry about what he can safely eat. He is luckily is not an idiot with chewing/swallowing but he's also just not a big chewer in general and seems to not have the patience to chew anything too hard

I hear you. But what about CATS NOT NEUTERED . I’ve got a female tortoiseshell . Apparently there all female but only 10% have menses. My cat twice a year Goes Twinking bum in your face for weeks. But has never had Kittens in 8 yrs ????? I’m trying the Feed one scoop 2x daily 12 hrs apart .. and it’s like I’ve got a furry Heroin addict Pawing scratching yowling . I’m like Sleeping with a Box over my head. I hear you. How sad am I. A cat rules my life. But truth is. I could be cruel lock her out etc etc eventually she learns no food except at certain times. ( wobbly screen sponge bob moments) she never gives up. Like a druggie. Anyways I’m sticking with the CAT detox from FOOOOOOOOOD FOOOOOD FOOOOD . But Jeeze I’d like to get 8hrs continuous sleep having a dodgy prostate is cruel enough. 😻😄😂😹

Raw does not equal bone, it's tricky the way your wording it I feed ground beef turkey and cuts I use black gold dog food high quality no recalls peas or lentils and glucosamine and trimune. I feed once a day show dogs

After this video I've switched to sweet potato from rice,, though I don't use vegetable much from the beginning,, just little bit of carrots & pumpkin,, hopefully it's alright
I have two cats (both about 1 1/2 years old) and they seem to always want to eat/be hungry. They should be about 8 and 10 pounds. Should I stop feeding them every time they ask for food? I see someone in the comments only feeds theirs twice a day. One of my boys is solid lol...he is heavy but doesn't look overweight.
Ferrets imprint on food and sometimes refuse to eat anything else. Marshall's starts them on their own product. Often times, they refuse to eat anything else...dubious motive by Marshall's, yes I think so. I tried and cannot get mine to eat meat. I tried chicken, fish and beef, raw, par cooked and fully cooked. With our without meat drippings. They simply don't recognize meat as food. If I rub it on their mouth, they go crazy trying to rub it off. It took forever, but I did get them to eat raw egg that is zapped 15 seconds to reduce bacteria. I'll take my small victory. So they get Marshall's mixed with other high quality, high protein, no grain kibble that's made for cats but appropriate for these guys, with eggs every other day.
I cooked homemade probably less than a week for my cat who was sick and tried to follow a supplement I saw. She had her blood rechecked and I was told her sodium was too low. I think too much salt is toxic to cats - so I'm scared about the salt amount. There was a recall in the past for vitamin B deficiency that occurred in a different country that caused serious problems. I very much want to cook homemade. I read a post of a person who regrets feeding raw to her cat. Her cat died from toxoplasmosis parasite in the liver. Two cats I adopted were strays and they had to be dewormed.

My dog sometimes eats dinner at 5 6 or 7pm but will get treats in the morning since she is a little hungry in the morning but not crazy. But definitely in the afternoon or evening is when she is hungry 👍

I want to feed my lab a raw diet or at least a better food but I’m a broke college kid and just my lab would need 1.5x the amount of food all three of your pets. So until I can get a decent job he’s gonna get kibble, meat table scraps and frozen deer bones. So far that seems to have worked out well. Now if I could feed him just straight deer meat I could do it pretty dang cheap
i hate killing animals- so how do we make meals for our dogs with just enought meat and the rest plants???

When I calculated cooked home diets for my dogs since 2007 it called for zinc. It’s also important to get the zinc to copper ratio correct

“Studies” are done by the people selling us killer dog food. Feed raw. Adult dogs: 78,10,5,5,2 or puppies: 67,17,7,7,2…muscle, bone, liver, other secreting organ, animal based fiber(chicken feet, feathers….). Don’t make it difficult. Even if you make mistakes, it’s way better than dry or canned.😊😊😊
Look at DARWINS NATURAL PET RAW. It's made a huge difference in my dogs.

13 year old ACTIVE Great Dane. Her predecessor was 13 and my very first Dane was 12 when he passed. He spent his first three years eating table scraps and garbage. His last meal before I got him had been cigarette butts. Balanced, raw food with good organ meats and appropriate amounts of fat and a good vitamin /mineral profile will extend your dogs already AWESOME life and will go much further than any OTC supplements to fight off age related joint degradation. The fact that DOGS are now getting Type II Diabetes is a clue.

Oh I'm so glad I'm seeing this video. Ny chiweenie, Pablo is most importabtvti me than anyone. I am so careful about what I feed him and don't. Thank goodness he doesnt kike peanut butter anymore! Now I've always given him boiled chicken and rice. Is that ok? Id say about twice a year. What should i feed him if he is sick? I sot appreciate this video!
My cats absolutely avoid beef in every way. The times any of them ever ate it they throw it up. Can you substitute turkey, chicken or rabbit in place of the beef?

Do your research" Many commercial pet foods contain 4 D: 4-D Stands For: - Diseased (including rejects from FDA inspected facilities that are not permitted for human consumption) - Dying - Down (because of a broken leg, sickness, or refusal to stand) - Dead (including euthanized pets, road kill…) 3-D meat contains three of the above sources while 4-D meat contains all four. These meats are often present in commercial canned food as well as kibble.
The title should be, "The Problem With Commercial Pet Food Poisoning Our Pets".
