I created this channel to teach about engine rebuilding, automotive and motorcycle repair, and share other videos with anyone who wants to learn. I found that other channels want to send you to some other website to learn the rest of what they are showing you how to do , or to get you to buy a video/ cd series. That is not honest . What I have on here is the best representation of what each video is ,so that I can show someone how to fix something that is broken on their ride, that they likely need very soon. I may not have the time to edit all of them into one video, so some have part 1, part 2, etc. I hope they are helpful, and if you want me to upload more, PLEASE CLICK LIKE AND SUBSCRIBE , AND YOU WILL BE ABLE TO SEE MY NEXT VIDEO ON YOUR PAGE AS SOON AS IT IS UPLOADED . THANKS ! AND PLEASE CHECK OUT OUR NEW COOKING/ RECIPE CHANNEL

We have been waiting for 2 months for a new steering column part. Dealers can't get them!
Mine can't drive. The steering wheel is stock
Thanks ! This video is very helpful.
Check the battery
I have been waiting two months for the entire steering column part to be come available for my 2017 Hyuandai Sonata. I keep being told it will be two weeks. We'll, it has been eight, and the local dealership in Clive, Iowa has no idea when the part is going to be available. I was told this part is not available in the US, so they have had contact with the parts department in the Korea headquarters. Whoever heard of such? How can you sell cars and repair cars when necessary replacement parts are nonexistent.
I've been having the same problem for about 3 months. They couldn't find the part and voided my car warranty
@caner2070 you need to call the hyundai corporate headquarters. They got my issue resolved with 2 weeks of filing a report after 3 months not having a vehicle. If you are the original owner there was an extended warranty for the MDPS and after my warranty was denied too, the whole issue should have been and was covered by the warranty.
@@nataliebryant530 It's already Hyundai that did this. He denied it yesterday. I will go to the service today to pick up my car. hundai is regret
@caner2070 they cannot sell vehicles and then not resolve issues when they fail. Don't take this lightly.
I have same issue in my motor driven power steering (MDPS) on my Sonata and the local Hyundai dealership said the part, steering column, is not covered for my 2017 Sonata Sport. I contacted Hyundai Customer Care and filed a case, the case manager also said it is not covered under the extended warranty, so the extended warranty is pretty much useless at this point. How can you make the dealership repair it under warranty?
I'm dealing with something similar with our old Speed Queen Dryer, part #D505795P. They are no longer making the part and it's such a waste to throw away a dryer when I can possibly fix it! I wonder if what you did can be done on my speed queen and make it heat!
Had this happened to me on a sonata 2016..hundyai extended the warranty on the power steering MDPS..call hundyai main office and they will check the VIN#..I Believe u can get this fixed free of charge
got the sam issue but, the video clarity was an issue. I made it through, thanks
This is happening to my sonata too.
My 2021 Hyundai Accent se has terrible sterring && loud knocking !!! It gets loose loose && makes me almost crash !! NO HIGHWAYS FOR ME !! Hyundai do better
Brought my 2017 in and this is being fixed for free.. not an official recall

That just started happening to us. It happened 3 times already in our 2017 Hyundai Sonata 😢
Same here - I have a 2017 hyundai Sonata that just started locking up on me while driving on the highway!
Anybody get a better solution ???? My car just did the same thing and the steering won’t move . Traction light came on and steering wheel light with exclamation mark comes on also check engine. Car starts but can’t drive it because wheel is stuck
Hello same problem here did you get yours fixed
I took my 2017 Sonata to the Hyundai dealership last month for this power steering problem and they can’t retrieve any error code because there was no warning light after the car was restarted. They test drove my car for 15 mins and said there was nothing wrong. Since it is a intermittent issue & they can’t recreate problem, they said nothing they can do and no repair is needed. It was a very scary experience and it happened twice in 3 months so far.
My sister car doing the same thing !! Still to this day the whole wheel will lock up & it hard to turn . At first she would have to park the car & turn it on then off now 3years later still locking up but worst now the turn on & off method not working . & every time we take it to tue dealership they give us the run around & won’t fix the problem 🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️

Please report and put in your incident as a complaint at NHTSA.GOV. You just need to input your VIN and type up your incidents and submit your contact information. NHTSA will have professional to review our complaints and will work with Hyundai to create a recall. If we don’t tell NHTSA, Hyundai will not care. NHTDA will make Hyundai be aware of the electric power steering issue if there is enough valid complaints that is related to safety, then a recall can be created.

This just happened to me last night except no light came on, when i turned left, the left turn signal comes on and there is a crunching noise. Then if you turn left the wipers turn on full speed and the washer fluid just goes sprinkler crazy… i was making a very slow u turn when this happened too. Glad it didn’t do this while i was by other cars!!! WTF HYUNDAI!!!
Hi All, has anyone found any solution to this problem yet?
I am so happy to have found this video! We're having the same problem with our 2015 Sonata. We just purchased it 5 months ago. We took it to the dealer who said it was something with the fuses. We paid $555 three weeks ago to have it "fixed." It's been back to the dealer twice for the same problem. The dealer is working with Hyundai to see if they'll cover the replacement of the steering column. Fingers crossed!
Hi, i have the same problem! were you able to fix the problem? Did Hyundai change the steering column with no cost? I don't know how to solve it.
@@biancapinheiro9291 Yes, they did eventually. We reached out to Hyundai customer care and filed a complaint. (Before that, the dealer was trying to get it taken care of, but the corporate office wouldn't budge.) They agreed to cover the part and we were charged an $150 by the dealer. (The dealer didn't refund the $555.) It wasn't 100% the solution we wanted. I also filed a complaint with the NTSB.
@@biancapinheiro9291 One of the facts I told Hyundai that I found in my research is that their recall only included some 2015 Sonatas. I don't know why some models were and others weren't recalled. There was "bad" wiring in the steering columns of Sonatas manufactured from May 2, 2014 -May 23, 2014. Our vehicle was manufactured right in the middle of that time frame. I told the rep that they want me to believe that some Hyundais got the steering column with the defect and some didn't? Nope, sorry I don't believe it. It's recall number 14V325000. Good luck!
@@biancapinheiro9291 One more thing, the number I gave below is the recall number for the NHTSA. Hyundai's recall number is 119.
@@lareid529 thank so much! My sonata is 2015 but I don't know if it was made during that period, can you explain to me how I see it? Hyundai's recall number is only 119? Another thing, what is the name of the part they fix? Did you have to pay for the part for them to be refunded to you later? How long did it take them to pay you? I''m afraid to drive it with this dangerous problem. 😞
My steering wheel has been locking up for the past year and a half . It only gets worse are used to be able to turn the car off and turn it back on and it go away but now it stays locked longer I almost crashed several times with my kids in the car I don’t know what to do I owe money on this car still I do not want it

@@abdullahcheema7061 no I did not even try to get it fixed I read it reviews on other sites about people taking it to get fixed but the problem still continued waste of fucking money these columns need to be recalled
I'm having the same issues I still owe on it and the steering wheel locks all the warnings sensors come on and the car uses 5 quarts of oil every 800 miles so idk what to do especially if the dealerships are saying they can't find anything wrong with it.
Guys omg thank you so much for the comments🙏🏽 i have been having this exact issue! Mine hasnt locked up in the middle of a turn on the highway but only when i have to turn the wheel past 360 degrees like when i park etc (3 way turn) etc. i have taken the car to TWO separate local hyundai (napelton west palm beach) and (delray hyundai) both located in Florida of course.. Napelton told me is was the lower shaft and quoted me $570 with install.. i ordered the part online and had my mechanic take a personal look at it. He said my said looked COMPLETELY fine and to return the part that i ordered online IMMEDIATELY to get my money back (hyundaioemparts) division of delray hyundai. My mechanic told me it was the motor to the right of the shaft, since im out of warranty Delray Hyundai told me they would charge $210 just to look at the car.. While the used car market is 🔥 right now im thinking about fixing it and trading it in. Any thoughts? I know the market with used cars rn los inventory etc.. just wanted to hear your thoughts. Thanks!
(He said my Shaft) Lower shaft part number: 56400-C1500.
My wife's has a 2017 Sonata Sports, when I called Napelton WPB the service adviser acted like it has never happened before, said she was going to talk to tech and call me back. This should be recalled. There was a recall for earlier models.

Guys anyine say how to get repair option in pn COMPUTER when my safe mode is not working its comming welcome loop not in laptop only in pc say

I had this on another car brand with electric steering, indeed when it fails you CANNOT steer at all, even with strong man arms (unlike a pump assisted steering which can still be steered when it fails). In my situation it was a failed steering relay, as per dealership saying, worth checking the relays in the first place. It is possible the relay is overheating because the steering motor is draining too much current, so at the base it could be a short or a steering motor wear or corrosion issue
Has anyone had issues with head lights or brake lights keep going out
They had a recall for trunk latch not working g right that can mess up the brake light it did mine I got 2017 hyundai sonata
