GSUTV

GSUTV

GSUTV is an innovative student journalism program at Georgia State University where originally produced arts & culture programming is broadcast on GPB (Georgia Public Broadcasting). At GSUTV, under the guidance of professors of practice, students are tasked with conceptualizing, producing, and editing original content that will be viewed throughout the state of Georgia on cable and digital platforms. Students receive hands-on training and go through extensive “boot-camps’ where they learn the basics of lighting, shooting, program development, editing and how to produce content for broadcast television and digital platforms.

53:00 on the time bar. I am an American English teacher today, living in Vietnam, because of those same children who practice English at Hoan Kiem lake in Hanoi. I was so impressed by their eagerness to learn that I came back to Vietnam after getting my Bachelors degree in English. I teach in Ha Long Bay Vietnam now. You will never find a better group of children to teach. Education is a part of their very culture. They love Americans in Vietnam. Even the Vietnam veterans (on their side) will call you over to drink a beer or two with you. Usually, they do not speak English but they will have their sons or daughters interpret for them. I was just a kid during the Vietnam War. My father was a US Navy Vet. I'm 59, so I never faught there. I joined the US Army in 1986 and did my service during peacetime. I grew up in San Diego California and the very first Vietnam refugees were placed, by President Ford in my hometown community of Linda Vista. So though I never faught in the Vietnam war, I know the Vietnamese people well. I came here because I wanted to see the secret of their success. Today the Vietnamese people in America are well educated and a lot of them run businesses and have completed university degrees. So I came here and have seen their world. Over here, they are quite proud of their war time history. I just stay silent about that. It's not my place, having never faught, to comment. But I will say this. The end of the Vietnam war was not just with America. Vietnam faught, the French and China and many others. The American war was one of many that their Vietnamese soldiers had to fight. Our war was the last war for them. They have had 40+ years of peace and it is wonderful to see so many US Veterans coming here now. They get to see and participate in that same peace. To them I would say, I hope all your wounds heal. It takes a highly motivated soldier to go back to a place that held so much fear, pain and devastation in the past and find that when the guns had stopped, they stopped for good. In 4 months I am returning to the United States with a Vietnamese fiance and her son. I will miss Vietnam. I have lived here now for 6 years and this place has profoundly changed me forever, but I am an American. I love my country and it's time to go home. Thank you for this video. I have often wondered what you brave soldiers had to endure. I walk in the jungle or out in the countryside - on islands or take a boat out in the bay. It's hard for me to think that at one time these places were combat zones. It all just seems so peaceful today. But I do think of all of you and respect what you had to do. I would never have had the opportunity to explore any of these places had it not been for your service and actions. The search for missing vets (MIA) and the willingness of the US to communicate with Vietnam has given me this once in a lifetime opportunity. So, Thank You. All of you.

I will never understand the reasoning of the dirt bags that gave our hero's a hard time when they returned from a war that most of the protesters were to cowardly to go and fight. I will never understand the anti American sediment in our country..no one wants war , so if you won't support out troops 😊have the decency to keep your cowardly opinions to yourself while you enjoy all the freedoms that out veterans fought for and protect for us all..God bless the Veterans

Forgiveness? I don’t need to be forgiven for anything. I was thrown into a war and I fought to survive but did nothing to be forgiven for. I guess if you did things that were outside of your mission then those individuals might want to seek forgiveness. I didn’t and none of my brothers did. I don’t understand this aspect of the film, seeking forgiveness.

Who's still watching this performance in amazement in 2024? I have been playing the piano for 40yrs now. I also had a classically trained beginning and as I have gotten older I will attest to experiencing what some may refer to as magical, majestic, angelic, and some even call it the Holy Spirit when musical sounds are culminated to make you feel all kinds of wonderful emotions. Some people might need a drug to evoke these feelings. This last song Love, love, love does just that for me. It has moved me to a river of silent tears. I have sat at my keyboard and got into an instrumental song I may have composed and felt moved like this yet I couldn't explain where my emotions derived from. The richness of all these harmonious sounds coming together with Lisa's vocals being chased almost playfully at times to show US all some love yeah yeah yeah🎵♥️ . Most of us go through our entire lives searching high and low for all types of love. We ALL deserve to be loved.....
