I don't see how insulting anyone let alone your love interest would be considered a Girlboss move, it's just disrespect. I'm so tired of this narrative that belittling a man is attractive. There is a gap between teasing and passive aggressiveness. Which leads me to my second point they don't belong together and it's giving a twisted Idea of love. Both have standards and expectations that has been flushed down the toilet just because "passion" sells. As an Indian who knows how fair-skin obsessed some Indians are, I sure adore Lady Violet Bridgerton. Lady B is downright displeased in the chapel her dumbass son is NOT marrying a brown girl he is in love with, instead marrying the diamond of the season.

This is probably going to sound racist, but as a darker skin girl myself, I find it very unrealistic for someone like Anthony to fall in love with a brown girl. Back in those days, pearly white skin was all the rage, the paler, the better. Indian girls just look like very, very tan caucasian women, usually, and easily could have been mistaken for peasants and lower class women. Watching this series was incredibly non-believable, and even though I understand that this was trying to be inclusive, it was actually painfully forced. I have olive skin, very dark brown hair and black eyes, but I don't feel the need to be represented absolutely everywhere. There's a place for everything and 1800's London wasn't one for brown and black people, no matter how much it pains some to accept it. Are people in Hollywood so scared of being called out every single time? I bet lgbtq people also felt the need to comment that this was not "inclusive" enough. When will we stop catering to other's needs and create things that are historically accurate? We are getting farther away from the truth, and the next generations will have no idea how life really was in the past if we keep bringing nonsense like this forward.
