125 is the best! Good cell service great trails. Its all about the spot you get.
Anything but the inside loop you were at...is way better. Last minute campers get the poo! Try Southwick State Park....the beach is endless and awesome sand.
❤❤❤
How long in advance are you able to book NYS sites?
9 months. If you have a very specific site in mind we suggest you be hovering over the reserve America website at 9:00 am on the day 9 months prior to your arrival date. Site go really fast!
I LOVE Four Mile Creek!
The views over the lake are spectacular aren’t they?
That sucks that the sites are so close together. Proximity to the Lake is great. I definitely prefer spots that have more shade.
Looks like a nice place overall. Hopefully, they will get better over the year. Loved all the Halloween stuff. Hope the trick-o-treaters did good!! Good to know about the entrance... lol! Hope you guys are having a great weekend. 😊😊
+@ThriftyAngela Thanks Angela! This is an old video and I’m surprised you saw it. The park has come a long way. New playground, new pool, some cabins, disk golf…. Thanks for watching!
3 door bathrooms are really the way to go! Just sayin'....
Was looking like a nice rig until the seat with the table in the living room
Did you get to Kinzua bridge state park? If not next trip visit it.
Not on this trip but on a previous one. We do want to go back again.
@@CampingCompanions Ok it will be closed starting this fall for repairs. The park will be open but the bridge will be closed.
Glad I came back around for this nightmare! Still, I love how you made the best of a place I will now never go to. You two are magic! Keep up the good work!
@@OutlawCamper Thanks! Don’t rule it out completely. Apparently the camping section will be closed down for 2024 while they make renovations.
Binge-watching your videos for a motorcycle camping trip to NY in September (after Labor Day). Want to keep our plans flexible, so didn't want to book any sites ahead of time. Can you just show up and get a site if available? The ReserveAmerica site is so confusing. Looks like they keep some sites available for first come/first serve campers? Specifically looking at Letchworth and Keuka Lake.
@@jeannettec375 That is fantastic! I really don’t want to steer you wrong. We’ve never just shown up and tried to camp. We always book way in advance because sites are so hard to book. Letchworth is a really big park and because it’s after Labor Day, you may have the best luck there because the kids will be back in school. I agree that Reserve America is confusing. The only thing I can suggest if you want to keep plans loose is to join the Facebook group “NYS cancellations heads up”, or Camp ADK. Good luck! I hope your trip is amazing!
@@CampingCompanionsThank you! We're dairy farmers in NC, and have to camp whenever the farming and weather permit. Enjoying your videos and reviews so much. Seems like y'all have the same preferences as us in regards to camping. NY is our absolute favorite place to visit. Try to go once a year. Never been in the winter time, though. ❄
+@jeannettec375 Don’t blame you! I don’t want to be here in the winter! 😂. Letchworth is especially spectacular in October when the leaves change. May be a bit too cold on the bike though. Thanks for all you do to put milk on the table!
Nicely done video! Just a quick question: if you don't take off the aluminum portion, does that mean that you let the grease fill that whole space and just wipe it off as it oozes out the opening?
@@rangertommy thank you! You’re not really filling a bunch of space. It essentially forces the old stuff forward while re-packing the bearing. The bearing sits at the back there.
Great video! Always useful information. Remind us to never book here!😂
Yeah - saved you the trouble of filming that one! Hope to see you out there one day! Your channel has really taken off!
Try Southwick State Park. About 30 minutes north from there and a great sandy beach!
Thanks! Haven’t been able to get into that one yet.
The state should put a state park on nearby Refield Reservoir. There is plenty of waterfront and acreage available. You could have a lot of shaded campsites with a great place for boating and fishing. Redfield could use a little economic stimulus is the summer to balance the winter snowmobiling. The state seems to be expanding existing state parks like Southwicks by putting roads into a clearcut area and packing campers on top of each other. Which doesn't make for a good camping experience.
Great idea. We hate the parking lot feel!
Hello thank you for all your videos. Have you camped and Watkin Glenn or Fairhaven State park? We’ve never been there. Thanks again.
Hi! Thanks for commenting! We have been to Watkins Glen, but not Fair Haven yet. If you go to Watkins, try to avoid a holiday weekend. The park gets pretty busy and a holiday weekend is worse. Such a beautiful place to visit!
Glad I saw this....I was thinking of taking my granddaughter there in the next couple of weeks.....nope!
So glad to have saved you from the bad experience!
We’ve camped at Selkirk since I was little(30 years+) we live locally and it’s definitely no longer our go to for camping, the sites have gotten so much smaller, ticks are really bad(Lyme from there). The beach has always been nasty! We now only go if we’re desperate to get out of the house and can’t go far from work.
It’s so sad. Hopefully the improvements they are making in 2025 will make it worth going back.
I've only went there once and it was before sunrise so I went up to the 1000 islands
Seemed like a mish-mash of sites.
@@debradroesler Not fun.
You have to come up to the Adirondacks. I can tell it’s a longer drive based on your video content.
@@thomasdavidson3152 Selkirk was our halfway point on our way to Lake George. It’s about a 6 hr drive from the Niagara region where we’re from.
+@thomasdavidson3152 We have been to Moffit Beach, Ausable, and now Lake George Riverview. Such a gorgeous area!
The trails and falls might make a nice little day adventure 🤔 The sites there at Selkirk look kind of small, and kind of crowded. Great video as always, have a great rest of the week, and a great weekend when you get to it.
@@Grebig Thanks friend!
I agree, that being on the bluff but not having a lake view is a disappointment. And I know there are some really tight sites and hope that all the renovations next year will fix that. I live 5 minutes away and love to walk the park all seasons. I hope that you will be able to visit in 2 years after renovations.
@@mja320 We heard that they were going to be updating the bathrooms too. Looking forward to seeing it updated.
Thanks for the info, I’m getting a 2013 Tahoe to pull my 20 ft camper and now I know it’s going to be great
@@manuelgomez2715 Congratulations!
How much does it cost to
@@winstonrocco1981 ? Cost to what?
Thanks for sharing 👍🏻
What lake was that?
@@njsouth3614 Lake Erie
Just got back a few hours ago from glimmerglass state park in Cooperstown. Small campground with massive beach, and old mansion that you can tour and some great biking trails. Highly recommend!
@@Chizzly_briz We want to go to that one so badly! It was supposed to be on the roster for this season but didn’t make it. That’s for the confirmation that we will love it !
Thank you So much for this video! My husband and I have been saving for 3 years for our first camper and you guys helped us find the perfect one for us!!! We found a brand new 2022 at a dealership after watching your video. And I have been a little worried about the model year and things I’ve heard about “quality after Covid”. But you have reassured us that we are making the right choice! Thank you thank you! Keep up the great videos! ❤
That makes doing this all worth while! Just when we question if all of this work is worth it, someone makes a comment such as this that sparks the fire again- so it’s our turn to thank you! ❤️. ~ Kevin & Amy
We haven't been there either because we kinda "poopoo" it too. Going to have to put it on the list for next year!
That’s great! Hope you enjoy!
temu version of Elon musk 💜
Our local park. We camp there every year. My fire company has a picnic every September and we camp then as well
Nice! It’s about an hour drive from us. Love it in the Fall!
It’s nice to find someone local doing local camping spots. We’ve only camped at Red Rocks in Holley as far as RV parks go. 99% of our camping trips are in state parks or DEC campgrounds.
Glad you get to check out other possible places to visit! We always used to go to the same places multiple time. This channel has really helped us to broaden our horizons! ❤️
Oh my gosh! I can’t believe we missed this video for a year. Thank you both for the shout-out. We also enjoyed meeting you and hope to cross paths again sometime. -Randy & Sharon
I thought you saw this at the time, but glad we met you too!
We just booked E10!! So excited. Is it close to the other sites? I cant tell in the video
We’ve had sites a lot closer! These are decent! The waterfalls make it all worth it. Make sure to check out nearby Ithaca Falls.
Looked like a nice campground. Loved all the things you got to do outside of the campground... and with your niece. Hope you all had a wonderful time. 😊😊
Thank you sweet Angela! We don’t get to see our niece often since she lives in South Carolina.
The view from the light house was awesome. I've heard of Hobuck falls, have to add it to "the daytrip list" of places to check out. It looks like the campground is a nice place to camp in. Great video, have a safe, and great holiday weekend.
+@Grebig It was a nice short hike to Hobuck. Happy holiday weekend to you! Hope to see you out there!
Love going here, go every year
It’s a great park! I can see why you’d love it. Thanks for watching and commenting! 😊. Kevin & Amy
Love going here, go every year
Last time i was at Chapman, the water was drain out for construction. It was weird seeing a dry bed
I bet it was! The whole Lake was drained?
@@CampingCompanions yes. The bed was dry enough to walk across
@@CDLNEPA Wow! That would have been cool to see!
Looks great
It was! Thanks!
Nice place! Thanks for sharing!
Glad to help!
That is one nice camper.
Thank you! We love it.
Very nice!
Thanks for sharing 👍🏻
Sorry about your tahoe, the startup smoke is very common on gen 4 5.3s. Driver side valve cover gets sludged up and sucks a bunch of oil. New valve cover will fix that issue
Trading it in also fixed that issue😂. Thanks for sharing your knowledge!
Looking forward to going here again. I was there last year.
Five sons has the BEST Gelato!!!
We heard they are the only ones that make it “boozy”!
Looks like a nice park. Those grilled cheese pizzas look pretty tasty, grilled pizza is pretty good as well. Great video, have a great rest of the week, and weekend when you get to it.
We haven’t graduated to grilled pizza although I bet it’s amazing! Where are you off to next?
@CampingCompanions the grilling of the pizza is pretty easy, 400 degrees for 11 to 12 minutes. My next scheduled trip is 4th of July at Green Lakes, but I might be able to get an overnight or 2 camping in before then (I'm on vacation the first week of July).
Enjoy!!!
Too big of a trailer, for that setup. What’s the hitch weight? I wouldn’t tow anything over 21-22ft with that size SUV/Truck
Yeah, we ended up trading the Tahoe and getting a smaller rig! Thanks for taking the time to comment!
