    Everything is flat packed these days pretty much so assembly is required. For the ATX benches they are partially assembled. So you just have to bolt on the rear base support. Then bolt on the pads. So it is dead easy. 👍

  • @samsfitnessgymequipmentaust

    I am pretty sure you can use the backrest pads and I need to confirm the seat pad. But honestly mate do not waste your money. They are for the high end benches in gyms. Just use a towel on your bench. Don't jump on it or let your dog eat it. One of my earliest customers has got a Super Bench that is 20 years old and still in mint condition. My Powertec Bench is a 2008 model still with original pad.

    Great little video there sam. Personally I am from the UK where space is a premium. I am lucky enough at current to have a 21x21 foot shed (re-enforced) in the back garden that I built with the help of my old man on a somewhat budget. I have been in the position in the past at worst however, where I had barbarian line (now ATX) squat stands packed away in a small garden shed alongside a barbell, power line folding weight bench, a set of Olympic weights set and cut up rubber mats so I could transport them. I would drag this out either into the garden or kitchen where the weather was bad. I then moved into where I live now and added this set up into one half of the living room (before I built the shed), adding a powertec Levergym.. a great machine for using in smaller spaces due to it's versatility! Now I still have to think somewhat of space saving and have added a full commercial half rack, cable crossover, powertec multi system, tradmill and body solid G6B with an upgraded heavy stack and gympin. In my opinion, a high quality rack or stands, and either a lever gym or G6B will give a heck of a lot of bang for anyone's space training buck! Leg. Extensions and cable fly on the G6B remove the need for extra bench attachments that can take up space and are convenient due to the weight stack. High, mid and low pulley plus converging chest press complete a pretty comprehensive single station unit. The Levergym also is a highly versatile single station multi gym, and like the G6B that does some things the powertec can't, the lever gym does some things that the G6B can't. The combo in home is awesome! Other than that a monster g6 type machine is probably the best 'all in one' unit. I do however, have an attachment to the powertec lever gym (or equivalent other branded version of that machine) as it was an amazing upgrade when I had to train in the living room. Too true Sam when you push the need for consideration and quality. There are so many decent options for those that are prepared to save up for a piece of quality for the home. Again, great video buddy 👍

    Thanks John. Yes we are spoilt for choice these days and I know prices have increased lately, but trust me it is still way better value than when I started 20 years ago. The Powertec Leverage Gym was amazing at the time. Only someone who has trained on it solidly for 10 years knows how good and versatile they are. I used to love playing around with them years ago. Had a mate who had one and he visited New York. He tried the flashest gyms over there with just crazy equipment. Said they felt shit and couldn't wait to get back to his LeverGym. Your body actually adapts to the equipment so you know exactly how to adjust your body to hit the target muscle. The high end brands try to do this with all the fancy shit. You might use a chest machine that costs $6K + and you can hit your chest harder on your Leverage Gym. Plus you don't have to wait for the wankers looking at themselves in the mirror!

  • @johnpain8380
    @johnpain838017 сағат бұрын

    Haha! I totally get you on the mirror wankers In public gyms mate! Actually at the time that I had my barbarian stands pack away shed set up (to still try and avoid public gyms, even In the greatest of pinches), I picked up a shoulder injury a d joined a public gym to get on the hammer strength machines in order to try and work my chest without shoulder pain as bench pressing was out of the question at that time! They felt like nothing all that special having previously owned an older version of a Levergym. It was one unbranded chest press machine in a corner of the gym that I was able to manipulate my shoulder position enough to get around it. During this 3-4 month period I was moving house and I did ask the management to consider investing in full power racks or at least have longer safety pins on there existing 2 half racks. They said there was "no money" to have this, then the very next week announced the plans to begin construction of their new 'posing room'... Wankers! I knew I had to get out ASAP and at that time the con-vid 'lockdown' was brought into effect. This is when I canceled my membership and quickly brought my 2nd (2020 model) Levergym. The rest now, is history. I remembered when I had my first (2009) Levergym, watching yours and Lees old powertec videos. As I am speaking to you now, I must thank you for those as they were helpful at the time and good to watch now and then even today! My only real minor gripes with the newer powertec machinery is the uni function lever arms. Don't get me wrong they have there obvious advantages, but the old units when working bi-latreally felt better as the new ones have that little bit of 'play' when you lift them off the spotters and lowering them back onto the pin. The older units had that more rock solid machine feel. The bench now is a better bench overall, but I did like the space efficiency when they used to arch into a backwards position into the levergym on a high incline setting when not in use. The current one I just stand up when not in use now. I am half considering selling my powertec multi system for the ATX lever squat/Viking press seeming I have the lever gym also, the lat station the multi system is only so so and I actually don't like the squatting on that, but I do use it for calf raises. The lever arms connection point on the multi system/multi press are set at different heights to the levergym, meaning some exercises feel better on one and other exercises feel better than the other. If all I had lever arm wise was the Powertec levergym however, I couldn't grumble all that much and will keep that one due to it's compact footprint 'just in case' I ever have to downsize again? So Do you think the ATX has a more robust construction and versatile feel in order for me to make the investment? Cheers mate.

    @@johnpain8380 For the record I have not imported Powertec since 2019 so I can't comment on the current quality. But at the time the build quality was great - probably a little too good. The paintwork was immaculate but I think that is a waste. The issue with them for me was design. They were so slow to improve things. Plus a lot of their existing designs were dated which either increased cost or made them less functional. I was the only dealer in the world to sell them side by side. ATX just smoked them and the Powertec machines did not sell. They were either a) better b) cheaper c) better & cheaper. Since 2019 ATX have improved even more. There is better technology available and they know how to use it. In the last year their improvement has accelerated. Powertec have made changes, but ATX just seems to be able to do it better. The Squat/Calf is a perfect example. Powertec's version looks like it has hardly changed. The ATX-SQM-700 is a better machine in every way. It is stronger - has zero flex. The footplate is bigger and so are the shoulder pads. It has more weight storage. But the big one are the handles. The Viking Press is amazing - have hardly done seated shoulder press on any machine since. Drop the arm down lower and it is one of the best exercises you will do. I know you Poms don't like to travel - but do yourself a favor and go and see Matt from Gym Revolution. Legend bloke, straight shooter and old school bodybuilder.

    The frame section is dead easy. Half racks are one of the easiest pieces of gym equipment to build. The only mildly challenging part is getting the lifting bar on and aligned. But even that isn't too hard. You just need enough height to lift the lifting bar above the guide rails - having a mate help you makes it dead easy. Then you just have to make sure you have the machined aligned. If you don't align it properly then the lifting bar will be hard to engage/disengage. Getting it aligned is also pretty basic. In a perfect world where your floors are level you would just make sure all structural parts are square. What I recommend is to get the machine built but do not tighten the structural bolts - the instructions tell you when to tighten. Make sure you can use the lifting bar, the tighten the bolts a little. Check it works and tighten more. If you get stuck just let me know, but honestly it is pretty basic. Plus the Germans make some of the best assembly manuals in terms of understanding

When using it for Viking Press, you do feel the resistance lighten at the top of the range, but I am 184cm so when pressing that is pretty high. Plus if you need to add more resistance at the top or the curve just chuck a band on. Which is dead easy on this machine.

    Gday Sam and the other fellas, what is the approximate height off the floor on the low cable pulley on this unit? It looks lower than say the Triplex but higher than my power rack, plus it has the rubber feet plants which imo are absolutely crucial for leg drive on seated rows. There is one other lat pulldown that I like from a melbourne supplier, but it does not have a low row, it is a mid row due to being a longer unit with a swivelling seat similar to the Trinity tower but obviously not as good. Or should I just drop you guys an email? I'll be looking at buying something significant in August, then before Xmas

I worked out I need over 145cm to get full ROM, so this machine at 155cm will probably work for my MAG knock offs But yeah, thanks for that, it'd definitely be an improvement on what I've been working with and should be easy to move around when needed

Even myself did not know because I haven't seen a lot of the new Rogue, Rep products in real life because I do not go to a lot of gyms these days. So after HomeGymCon and the feedback from the Americans it pumped me up. I always thought I sold the best equipment, but now others know too. That is why we are doing more videos. I am not a natural salesman and do not want to come across as bullshit artist. In regards to the MBX-520-II you must be a mind reader! The video will be up tomorrow. FYI that was the first bench I did out of the range because I believe it is the best value.

  • @samsfitnessgymequipmentaust
    @samsfitnessgymequipmentaust24 күн бұрын

    Hey Julio the ATX one has more adjustability - you can adjust both rollers in multiple positions. Plus it has PU rollers. But it costs more. The Ironmaster Leg Attachment is basic but gets the job done. It has 2 adjustments but you have to bolt into place vs adjusting via pop pin on the ATX. However if you fit within extremes of height you will be fine. The best endorsement any gym equipment can get is being in the market for a long time and maintaining popularity. Garage gym forums rate the Ironmaster highly. FYI I trained for years in my office gym with a Powertec utility bench + leg attachment combo, even though I had the ATX-BCO-770 out in the gym - samsfitness.com.au/equipment/atx-leg-extension-leg-curl/. That Powertec combo is similar to the Ironmaster combo. The work on the muscle is identical. You find yourself after years of reps, your body adjusts to the equipment. Either way - ATX or Ironmaster - you can't go wrong.

It's got the best of everything (if you can afford all your required attachments) and is super versatile! 0 to 85 degrees incline & decline in 10 degree intervals - for all angles of incline/flat/decline benching/flyes/ overhead pressing. Also great for steep decline situps/crunches & leg raises too! Only the preacher curl attachment isn't that special, but it works. Other attachments are awesome!

    I have ATX 650 Free Stands and the connecting brace for the stands. Could it be possible to use the ATX Jammer Arms with my 650 stands? I know that I can attach the Jammer arms to the stands, but I was thinking about how the physics work. Like would the stands tip over or would the Jammer arms put some side torque to the stands that would prevent me going heavy on them?

  • @samsfitnessgymequipmentaust
    @samsfitnessgymequipmentaustАй бұрын

    They are not listed as being an available option for the SQS-650 stands. But I think that is because you definitely could not use them without the brace. I will ask ATX if you can. We have not got these stands set up at the moment. Otherwise I would try it out for you. In my test I would put a weight plate pin either side and throw on a 20kg plate. With the extra weight, it would weigh the same as a half rack, so it should work. If I had more stock of the SQS I would set up and try now for you. But with the Red Sea issues a lot of shipments are being delayed.

I'm not sure if these are listed as an option for the SQS-650 stands, but I have successfully used the ATX foldable dip attachment and the ATX universal chest support pad with my SQS-650 stands, but I have to throw couple 20kg kettlebells on the back of the stands for extra stability to prevent side to side sway. @@samsfitnessgymequipmentaust I went on and ordered the Jammer Arms for testing with my SQS-650's. They arrived today and I just happened to have a chest and back workout. So after my mandatory barbell benching and pullups, I used the jammer arms for the rest of the workout. Incline pressing and flat pressing 50kg per side, and doing couple different row variations laing on a bench, and finished with shrugs with 100kg loaded per side. I had two connection bars on my squat stands, one at the top and one at the bottom, also couple kettlebels on the back of the stands to give some weight and statibility for the stands. I would say that these jammer arms are usable with SQS-650's, but with some user discretion. But I have now ordered the 800 series SQS's and they are on their way and should arrive in couple of days, so I'm getting rid of my 650 stands soon.

    They are wider than say their leverage bench press machine - samsfitness.com.au/equipment/atx-lever-arm-multi-press/ - but I wouldn't say they are too wide. On the leverage bench press, if your grip at the closest part you definitely use more triceps. So on the narrowest grip on the jammers you are going to wider and engaging more chest. On a power rack you would be using these as accessory work. So if you did a barbell bench press, then some flys and you would finish off with some jammer work. I wouldn't be going super heavy. Just try and exhaust the muscle while giving the joints a break.

    I have been watching your videos all day and viewing your store. From a lot of the stores in Sydney it looks like you have some of the best equipment around for bodybuilding home gyms. I was looking at your half rack smith machines whic hare perfect for small skinny spaces, the downside is there are no cables on this. Do you have any stand alone cables you would recommend to use with this? Forr context I have a double garage and am trying to fit out one half of it which limits me to a depth of about 2400mm but a much longer width. I was even considering the TX-LEM-760 for legs.

    For compact home gyms we have best equipment in the world. Ironmaster is the best for squeezing the most out of small spaces. Plus ATX is equivalent to the US brands like Rogue, Rep etc but their designs are more compact for smaller European gyms. Remember that gym equipment is often designed to be marketable. They will add on features to make it stand out from the competition. Cables are one of these additions that have just grown over the last few years. Don't get me wrong cables are great and I use them. But I could easily live with just barbell, dumbbell, high and low pulley exercises. In my opinion that is the holy trinity for an old school gym. A smith machine and cables are just an added bonus. If you can mount to the wall, this machine is great - samsfitness.com.au/equipment/atx-single-cable-station-wall-mounted/. If you are in Sydney come in and try out some machines, give us a call or email.

    Thanks for the video Sam and highlighting that these squat stands are capable of doing pretty much what your ATX racks can also do. I got a bit impatient during Covid lockdowns and bought a decent enough power rack at the time rather than wait on an ATX rack, but one crucial thing I overlooked at the time was the expandability of the rack. My rack is somewhat modular as it has M16/5-8s hardware, but the tubing is 2x3 and there are not many 2x3 racks around in Australia or compatible accessories (I have 2 different suppliers 3x3 accessories on my rack, but they're either not a perfect fit or the M16 hardware is slightly longer) Those squat stands you have on display however have given me a ray of hope that I can keep my current power rack without taking a massive loss, while offering a genuine portable solution to wheel around my garage or even outside. If I were to own the 600 or 800 series squat stands, then I'd look at a connection brace, a pair of roller j cups, safeties, jammer arms and the belt squat attachment would all be amazing for my set up, however those jammer arms and the ability to drag the stands outside for overhead presses would be massively beneficial seeing I can't find 2x3 jammer arms anywhere and I'm too tall for my garage to OHP. So yeah, happy to see a couple of possibilities here and that'll give me some options in regards to future purchases elsewhere and that I could continue to make adjustments to my current power rack in order to suit other purchases.

  • @samsfitnessgymequipmentaust
    @samsfitnessgymequipmentaustАй бұрын

    It was hard for everyone in covid to get equipment - especially us! If you have got the room keep the power rack. As long as it is stable, most power racks are sweet for all the basics. The options for these squat stands are endless with these attachments. There are gyms in Europe that have the belt squat attachment bolted to a wall - that is how good that attachment is. So having it portable in your garage is close to a belt squat machine. I was speaking to ATX last night. They said they noticed how much bigger the Rogue gear was at HomeGymCon. In Europe they need more compact and functional items. With gyms getting smaller in Oz we need that equipment too!

    @@samsfitnessgymequipmentaust I have converted my power rack into a 6 poster with storage at the back, I've spent well over $2000 on it in nearly 3 years owning it, it's a good general strength rack, but in terms of getting in extra hypertrophy/body building style accessories it's somewhat limited, hence why I've had to look at 3rd parties to see what could be compatible. I bought a pair of 3x3 shackles and a pair of high pulleys for example so I could rig them up to my rack pulley tower to do cross overs and unilateral high rows/pulldowns, it feels decent enough but it's only bolted into 1 spot so I have to use chains/carabiners to alter its height a little/hit slightly different angles. Eventually I could buy a functional trainer and dismantle the high low tower at the back of the rack as the functional trainer takes care of the cable exercises, then buy a bulletproof isolator for the rack to hit a heap of accessories and I would probably have room to store attachments inside the end of the rack in a near pile. Then coming to you with this ATX squat stand/accessories combo to fill in the blanks seems pretty appealing. Another problem I have is I'm 6"5, so not all equipment fits, attachment benches leg extensions for example is one, my feet hit the floor unless the bench is elevated to allow for clearance, hence why the isolator attachment out of the US looks appealing to me and they do cater for 2x3 racks it looks like.

    @@samsfitnessgymequipmentaust yeah for sure, Thursday night for example I added a few carabiners to my shackle high pulleys and did a few standing chest presses to get some chest in as I didn't have the energy to do heavy dumbbell presses. So those standing presses would've hit me similarly to dips I think. At times I have alot of time to train hard and heavy and mostly free weights and see results there, but there's times I get bogged down at work, but still want to get a workout in, hence machines/attachments are very handy in taking some stress off my body while still getting in some hypertrophy which is what I'm looking at investing in from now seeing I largely have my free weight setup sorted (just a couple of specialty bars will fill that remaining void)
