Why do you need to cut the USB cable? Why not just go from USB-C into your computer?
Where is the site to go and look into option for buying manuals and enclosures?
Site is not up yet as this is a preview. But this will all be shared soon by Obvia. You can follow them on Facebook.
Love it. It's on my list now. Thanks for sharing!
As it should be. Lol
Great review. I've been lusting after the VRS after loads of recent research. I'd love a 15nm+ wheelbase but, honestly, I'm a VR-only sim driver and my livelihood is completely dependant on the well-being of my wrists and fingers... I'm concerned that a bad twist of the wheel (while I can't see it in VR) at even 9nm could do me a ruinous injury. I had kind of mentally settled on the idea of the Moza R9 v2 and running it around 7-8nm in VR but I'm concerned that you weren't getting a decent feeling in the centre of the wheel. I'm still rocking an old gear-driven wheel with easily 1000 hours on it (but nice loadcell pedals) and it's the poor centre that drives me crazy. It's not like Moza R9 with a wheel is "cheap" throwaway purchase either. I'm a bit stuck in indecision.
Thanks Jonny. Well I can tell you this, if I were in your shoes and I understand that it can be hard to make the right decision. If you are close to a Microcenter and in the states, I would recommend you go w/ Simagic. It is easier to get setup, the Alpha Mini is great, it has 10nm, but is closer to 12-13. From everyone I have spoken with, it is great around the center of the base. I will be getting one to test as well, so hopefully I will have more first hand feedback. The Simagic also has the NRG QR which is to me best around, has a plethora of great wheels and pedals and you can easily use 3rd party wheels. Moza is not bad at all, and you wouldnt be mad at it, but around center I always felt like I was suffering. If you have pedals, you wouldnt need that. I would get the Simagic Alpha Mini and GT Neo wheel.
@@grayzedynamics Thanks for your helpful reply - the Alpha Mini was on my radar, so I'll take this as a suggestion to save up a bit more and look closer in that direction.
Yeah. Definitely worth it in the end. You have so many choices. VRS is great but a nice ecosystem may make it easier for ya.
Great stuff Ray!
Thx man
Big bro wheel looking real good. I know thats gonna be your pride and joy. Looks great awesome job.
It's a great wheel. And for my favorite car lol.
Can't wait to see V2 at work 👀
Me too.👀🤣
One of the better impression videos i've sen in a while, Thx man take care
Thx man. I appreciate the kind words. Trying to get better with each video.
This would look killer in the formula light cars
Very true. It's very similar. And it's the perfect size too.
Very interesting wheel rim yo got there sir i like it💪
@@MILITENTREBEL it is super nice.
So, for an F1 setup in an F1 playest should I go for these that will cost 500 bucks with delivery or HE sprints for 585? Trying to get the most authentic F1 feel
I would highly recommend the VX-Pros, the Sprints are over priced for what they bring. The Sprint software is easier to use, but the VX Pros are much better.
This is amazing
It truly is. Worth it for sure
Buen trabajo amigo /// congrats and thanks for build and share !!!!
Most welcome.
Congratulations! You run a fantastic channel and I believe many more subscribers shall come :D
Thanks my friend. I really appreciate it. Glad you are part of our team. ❤️
Did you use a 3D printer to make the housing?
@@jeantsimracer for this wheel. I used JLCPCB to get the prints, but you can use any 3D printer for the housing. I have some from my sponsor Matt at Simulation R Us and they look really good. Especially in Galaxy Black.
Thanks for the video. A short, informative bit about the stuff I need to know to get this thing started.
Glad I could help. Always here to assist. :)
im glad i have found this channel. awesome content
Wow. Now I gotta keep up with the expectations. :)
underrated channel.
Thanks mate.... I appreciate the kind words.
New fan. Just getting into Sim Racing, current PC hardware enthusiast. Learning to DIY. Maybe I'll pick a wheel and have you build it. :) Or maybe I'll start a KZread channel and try to replicate your success. Keep at it!
Hey mare. Glad you are here. Welcome to Sim Racing. DIY is awesome and I think you will love it. Of course I'll build it. Or help you do it. I am here to help. If you have discord, join me and the buddies. We have fun and are silly. Thanks man. You have my support.
will sub now enter the next one, as i am new and will be unfair to the first 2k subs
Thank you for the sub. And throw your name in there. The more the merrier. The goal is to get people involved and share the wealth. You’re part of the team now. Join and maybe you’ll win 🏆
Congrats on reaching 2k Ray 🎉🎉
Thx mate. Hell of an accomplishment for me. 👍🏾
Hey Bro, Nice too See you
@@timstelling2446 what’s up brotha. 👍🏾
Fun to watch. How populated are the splits for this series?
All really depends on the track and car combination. Sometimes it can be full, others it could be small splits.
👍
Thx
Very nice video thanks for that - try to build the same for me. question where i can buy this 4" vocore screen? can you give me a tip?
Most welcome. You can get the 4 once from vocore. It's $40
1:00 bro im going to need that light cycle. if youre on discord let me know i have 5 PE wheels (LMP Pro, GTE v2, HYP-R, FGT and GTB Pro) and i think this GTB Pro is one of the best designed he has come up with. im curious how he will top this
I have shared it in my discord. The engine start sequence and the KITT effect are part of it.
@@grayzedynamics Just joined the discord I’ll look for it. What’s the file name?
@imJGott I just dropped the GTB in the discord channel.
I changed my mind. I want it now Ray. LOL
Hahaha. You funny fam.
where can I get that led profile? looks awesome
It was shared with me. I have it on my discord channel. You are more than welcome to grab it.
I built one yesterday as well. Nice little gadget to have.
Yeah so useful and nice cheap addition. Although I had to do orange. lol
@@grayzedynamics I went with black :)
very cool.
Thx man. Stay tuned giving one away.
Thank you for the review. Time for me to make the jump to this bad boy of a shifter.
You sure won’t regret it. It’s a GREAT SHIFTER.
Awesome build. How does this mount to the rig?
Thx mate. In the files it comes with a mounting solution but I used double sided tape and put on my VI button box.
@@grayzedynamics nice, thanks for your work!
Thx mate. Appreciate it
Another gem of build… I picked up something similar a while back and it’s been a great addition to the rig.
Right. Something easy but so powerful. I love it. Such a cool device.
Whyyyy? Why did I lose it live?!? Thanks for the work, mate. I love this diy!
Thx man. Going to do another. This time I’ll do it live. Going to do a giveaway.
Thanks for everything you’re doing for a lot of us in the sim racing community. Keep up the good work and I’ll definitely build this one too
Thx my good friend. Such an easy build. Will be building another for a giveaway.
Man all this new 3d printing stuff for sim racing is awesome! You're doing a great job!
Thx man. I appreciate the kind words. Having fun doing it.
Great video! QQ how do you implement the Dan susuki QR solution using a moza QR? do you also have it connected to a moza base? I just did my first DIY build (the pokornyi GTE PRO V1 BIG BOY) and i was looking into using the QR from Dan but this is my main blocker.
Thanks for the feedback. So if you are using Moza, this solution likely won’t work for you. It is really intended for those without a Moza, Simagic or Asetek base. Moza uses a proprietary protocol. So it would not align and transfer both data and power.
I cant configure any Buttons of my Moza Truck Wheel. In the pit house Software the Status is disconnected. In Euro Truck Simulator 2 works the wheel perfect with force Feedback with R9 Base. But how can i configure the buttons?
Which Mode base do you have? V1 or V2.
R9 Base
Do you have version 1 or version 2. They came out with an updated R9. The version 1 isn’t compatible with some of the new wheels.
I habe the R9 V2 Base.
And when connected to the R9 it does not connect? Have you updated the base.
My cm display cuts out when turning sometimes
That sucks. Do you think it’s because the connection is loose.
@@grayzedynamics no, tried a new lead, the customer service was not great from MOZA at the time, it took a month to reply to any email I sent, then they wanted me to send everything back to them at my cost so I gave up
Hi Grayze, I have some questions for you, how can I contact you on discord? you once proposed that if I wanted you could build me a steering wheel, so I would like to ask you a few things. Thanks
Just join the discord group and message me directly. What kind of wheel are you wanting built?
M8 you have to do a review on the Simagic GT Neo
I would love too. But not in my wallet at the moment unless Simagic would bless me with a wheel to review and send back.
That downshifting was amazing
Thx. I'm still a rookie lol
Well I saw those Hub sleeves came in on the VRS website, so I ordered one of those along with the ole VRS Pro! It was also cool of VRS to just send me another Break USB Bus box to decide what I want to do! I figured it out and it loaded nice. I also ordered that USB brand HUB you recommended to me. That ill be for my wheel of choice and the ability to plug in a cool external; device like a button box as I also like GT I want to land me a cool wheel RIM before this years election in the event product availability gets hung up from another shit surprise. I currently use a ASR4 chassis. I ordered this cool ARS mount that will mount form the face a Sim Magic, Simucube or the VRS. I like the simplicity of the VRS. It's also a Mean Well power supply but custom and well thought out! I actually need the longer cable length as the front of my chassis actually rolls up under a desk. A work in progress! Putting together one piece at a time. And my GT-DD pro is nothing to shake a stick at either! It's nice. My smaller 1st Fanatec gear I landed is keeper. I really believe that this stuff can disappear and fall over with what can happen.
Sounds like you have quite a bit worked out. And it's awesome when customer service at companies goes above and beyond. I just got a 16 outlet usb powered hub. Works really well but not sure if the motherboard can accept so many inputs. I may eventually upgrade my mother board to a more powerful one but I do have AM5 so I am good for a while.
@@grayzedynamics According to UPS records there was a mechanical failure tat delayed my VRS. But it's supposed to land tomorrow. No hurry. I still need to buy a wheel & quick release. I'll tell ya man, I've been looking at wheels and I've decided I want to run with a Ascher F64 V3 USB wired! And add an Ascher 5" Dashboard. I've been messing around in RaceRoom. I used to have problems with it. But I know one thing that helped are these VRS load cell pedals. At first I had to figure it out and wasn't all that impressed with the way it was out of the box as I was sort of lost. But once I got it figured out it started to sink in. But then I lit up and realized how much I could adjust these once I learned them in a sense. I have it set up pretty hard for breaking, cause I always would break too hard anyway. So I could sort of tailer it to my muscle memory maybe? I became so impressed with the Gas & break pedal I added that clutch that I will put to good use eventually. But I used to really struggle in RaceRoom but finally I had to come to terms that it's "Me" screwing up, not the "sim" LOL I'd get more into iracing but their a ripoff even though they have beautifully scanned tracks and car mechanics! I have a problem with iracing's EULA agreement. I have a problem paying rent yearly to play a video game. They sell us this "pro level" "licensing" fee and it all adds up. I think they should let a person own what they purchase and we should be able to play off line without paying yearly. People say your paying for updates. I say, BS! I'll pay for updates, that should be optional. If I could own what I purchase form them, I'd buy all their cars &* tracks! Is the way I feel. I purchased their IR-18 Dallara Indy ride and man their Oval is the best Oval Indy I ever touched!! Right after I purchased it Dallara pulls iracing's rights to it. You have to log in and play through their website. Very controlling. But I dig GT and I purchased RaceRoom's BMW M2C and GTE and GT4 package they had on sale until today actually. It was only $11.61 for all three rides with about 30+ liveries. One thing I really enjoy using is TrackIRv5 head tracking. I used to use this with my Flight sim. Man I was with DCS world since back when it was Flanker 2.0 The head tracking in a sim makes it very nice indeed. Wouldn't want to ride without it. "Once you head track, you never go back"! LOL I hung up my flight sim. Now I race cars with no regrets!
The Ascher wheels are nice from what I hear. Dunno if I will ever own one, I have my favs at the moment and it will be hard to change me without trying them first. Great pedals make you so much more consistent which leads to better pace and better times. As for iRacing, trust me, anyone who races in it totally agrees, but there is not a sim at the moment that has the ability to race just about everything and a strong online community. I think LMU and AMS2 have a chance to change it a bit, but more is needed for both. As for TrackIR, I have not tried it, but it requires a full turn and I am on triples, so I really do not have a problem seeing the side of the car, plus if I want, I can also use my VR when I want true immersion. Now we wait for the Crystal Light to show up.
@@grayzedynamics Sounds really nice. Thanx a whole lot for sharing the VRS concept though. And everything else! Thanx! Today's my birthday! I'm 62 ;p()
@DragonFlySlayer-wf6ne most welcome mate. And HAPPY FREAKING BIRTHDAY. You don’t look a day past 61. 😂🤣😂🤣
Do they work with MOZA? if I change in my base too?
Moza uses a proprietary system for power and I believe Bluetooth for wheel connectivity within the base and wheel. So this wont work with Moza wheels. Really only 3rd party wheels that use USB to PC connections.
Hello sir. Looking at that shifter plate. Where did you get that? With the clutch availability.
It is in the BOM files for the GTB Pro. It is new and is in their new file. Can also be used w/ the Rally DIY.
@@grayzedynamics yeah I’m looking to add to my really plate. I didn’t see it in the BOM for the project. I’m not looking to build another screen wheel. I got the shifter plate but can’t seem to find one with the clutch mounting.
@aswang17 yeah I'm not sure why he doesn't include it in the file for the Rally. I'll reach out and see if there will be an update to the file. Should be available.
So.... one thing to ponder or share here. I do currently have the VRS full pedal set as I recently added the clutch. I'll end up using it but want to end up with a cool shifter. So....when I first received my VRS Break and Gas pedal, cause that's what I started off with only needing, I quickly learned that there are no instructions, and I had to figure it's complete mechanical application design sort of by myself. I was informed by VRS that there were videos on KZread. I didn't like this. But adapted. I also discovered that my clevis clip on my break pedal was in assembled upside down and backwards. I was missing the RED break spring pedal too. I was also wondering why my gas pedal was weird and from watching the video I was missing a small 5 cent nut. I went to the hardware store and got the small nut and a washer too cause that would be cleaner in application. The reps name with VRS I won't mention cause he was very nice and sent me a RED spring immediately. When I first plugged in that USB VRS connection box my pilot light stayed on all the time. VRS informed me that was normal. Not a problem. After some time passed I ended up updating my firmware, when I added the clutch. I also still enquired to VRS regarding the LED light no longer working. So they said, let us send you another box and switch it out. Can't ask for more than that.... ok, thanx!... So I received the box yesterday, pull out my chassis, switch it out real quick. No LED light. When I try to open it, I get a red box across the VRS firmware, "Update needed" It states I need 1.12 ok" But it will not update. I look on discord and cannot fine the latest update. I fond a VRS page through search and it's latest was 1.11. The VRS website only let me download what I already seem to be with firmware wise..... So I switch my original box back. It opens up fine. I select update and it states I currently have the latest 1.12 update and my old box works fine. Originally too when I politely complained to VRS regarding how I wasn't impressed with the pedals with no instructions or parts missing, product not assembled correctly??!! and I learn it by watching a video? Nothing was damaged at all. Not a scratch. My answer from VRS was that they are a more simple company or something to this degree and this was why they could offer us a more affordable price. So...what ever that's worth. But I soon learned too that how I calibrate the pedals made a big difference , setting the pedals up properly to my muscle reactions made a hugh good difference. There are cool abilities like adjusting my gas pedal tension, break tension and how hard I apply the break for a action needed based on my style of how I move. So I ended up really liking these pedals, except for this driver BS and being on my own. Any wrong or defective situation was handled by VRS immediately and in an instant. But I'm gonna look now real closely at discord regarding VRS's Wheel base to see how new customers receive it within the box, any issues , missing items non working items...etc.... I still just might jump to a simcicube as I don't want problems based on economics plus the Simucube is a tad more powerful, larger? SC 2 Pro? So down lower maybe at the end of the day more responsive. This shit confuses me to be honest.
So I sent snap shots to VRS and asked them for any thoughts on updated firmware, maybe my load cells are flashed to my original connection box or something. VRS wants me to send one of the boxes back. But first I'm showing them what's happening to see what is said.
Glad you figured that whole nonsense out. Sometimes mistakes happen and I am glad to hear that they were fast, efficient and responsive. No company is without mistakes and rectifying the issue is the key. As for the wheelbase, I have had nothing but good things with it. No issue to complain of so far and I would recommend it to anyone. With that being said, software wise, it is much better than when I first got it, but it is not as nice as Simucube in the software department. Having more NM is not a big deal b/c how many people actually use it. 20 nm is more than enough and honestly you wont use anywhere near that. In the end, purchase what you feel comfortable with and where your budget can afford. If you have Siimucube money, I would say get that, b/c you will always second guess getting it.
@@grayzedynamics Well... I've pondered that little Second Guess thought or concept for most of this year as I research this the best I can. The software is key, but I think I'll be fine. I read one review where a guy owned both and he said if you were blind folded , in his opinion you wouldn't be able to tell the difference. You've touched both and made a choice. Sometimes the sim gear is no better than the driver using it. LOL
Very true. Most times a blind test you cannot tell. Like I have said, the differences are in the margins, not outright better. Some have even preferred the rawness of the VRS and I think that is my thing. The software is much better, and works so much easier.
Oh wow how did I not see your live session 😆
Lol. All good man. I will have more. lol
