I'm finding this conversation totally awesome! At about ten minutes into the interview, there's a discussion about the political correctness of finding out the unique ways the child/person needs possible additional help. Perhaps as I continue to listen you'll mention this yet I feel it is SO important to also find the unique ways a child, or person, has overcome some of the limitations they've had, as well as how they are helping others in society despite the disability. If they haven't found a way to do this, help them accomplish more than they could ever have imagined! Although I had fantastic parents that helped me achieve my goals, it was my high school biology teacher, as a freshman, that was a real catalyst in helping me truly pursue my dreams! I believe Krystian is helping both the children and the adults in their lives, to help do great and yet unimaginable things for God and His kingdom!! I've recently begun to be curious about what is a special needs child. I'm asking this from the perspective that I was born with a severe club foot and severe scoliosis. Although I could walk, even run somewhat, I was in a foot and back brace through the 8th grade. I had several surgeries in childhood and more in adulthood. My question then does a special needs child include those with only physical disabilities that will eventually be mostly corrected through childhood, or is it more related to those that struggle intellectually? Yet, a child with cerebral palsy can be very intelligent, but trapped in their bodies. So, for the average person, please expand on what it means to be a special needs child. Perhaps parents themselves are wondering if my child is "special needs." After I 'asked' this question I did a little research just now, which answered my own question, but in reality it can be a complex question as well in regards to governmental services, etc. As I listened to Krystian share her heart, at times my eyes welled up with tears to see the heart she has had since middle school for children different than her!! I'm so glad that in the last several years great strides have been taken to help children, dealing with unique combinations of physical and intellectual difficulties, to be more included with other children growing up, and hopefully much less bullying them. Thank you, Jeremiah and Krystian. This interview did my heart good!!!

Oh no!! Please stop talking! I’m not trying to be rude or mean but seriously you know nothing about Wichita, KS except for the untruths you are reading from your cue cards. Get out there and see it for yourself so you can actually report on what you are seeing. That’s reality and what people, I think would rather see. Speaking of seeing how about you take yourself away from the camera and actually show us what you are talking about. If you are doing the video where you are driving around the worst neighborhoods or ghetto places in Wichita then please slow down so those of us who grew up there and have since moved away can take a trip down memory lane and can actually read the street signs so we know where we are. You might want to drive on the right side of the street and stop going from one side to the other. That just it safe in some of the areas you were in. There are other bad neighborhoods too in Wichita not just the North side or Southeast areas. Lastly when you are telling people how great Wichita is please stay in the Wichita area not all of the smaller surrounding suburbs.That just give’s people who have never been there a wrong impression of Wichita and maybe even Kansas. Are you even from Kansas? I’m guessing not. You really don’t even live in Wichita either just ask any native of the city and I believe they will tell you the same thing. On a positive note I do agree that the worst thing about Wichita is the weather. Sorry if I was too harsh but I wanted to say something because you can’t e doing yourself any good being a realtor who isn’t showing the world some of the best places to go and see and eat great food or speak about The River Festival and never mention the Shockers or WSU or some of the great schools such as Wichita High School East Aces!!! You may have guessed that’s where I went! Go class of 1981!!!! Thank you.

I’m from SoCal, I did some research about Wichita. This year I drove through Kansas twice around July. First trip from west to KC, second from north to Oklahoma through Wichita. I was astonished by how unpretentious and friendly people were in Kansas. It felt weird how sane people were and they were oddly friendly without ulterior motives. Kansans are the kind of people that would give you the shirt off of their back, metaphorically speaking. It’s noteworthy to mention that there were no issues between races. A gas station in Oakley KS insisted that I pump the gas before they take my money, by justifying that I might ask for change and they don’t want to do 2 transactions. That’s as friendly as it gets! I was like 🤔…🤩🙏. I’m in love with Kansas, everyone in every gas station talk to me in way that showed they cared about my well being. It felt like one big family. Even the cops were nice. I’m planning to do a trial visit period this February to see how cold it gets then move as soon as possible. Screw LA. Pros: very affordable, Good friendly people, 4 seasons, traditional, ample and free parking everywhere, no traffic, easy airport, many late night food options, good neighbors, Midwest values, family values, it has some Art scene, it’s not overpopulated. Many semi-professional sports teams make the event tickets affordable, cool zoo. Cons: limited entertainment, Poor public transportation system, the crime is twice that of national average, windy, hot summer but dry, cold winters, no highly rated hospitals like UCLA or Mayo Clinic, it’s a RED a state so healthcare is going to be neglected and I already expect issues with predatory billing by the healthcare cartel hospitals/health insurances/phamaceuticals, far from major city like Dallas or Chicago, airport is easy but is not well connected and flights are a little more expensive so it’s an issue for frequent fliers only, possible allergy issue due to being windy and allergens floating in the air, there is road called Kellogg that’s been in construction forever with no end date in sight 😂.

Another strong video. I liked this one, too!
@jonathancroper2 жыл бұрын
This video aged well! Country appraisals are still screwed up in Wichita’s urban core, who knows what a non suburb house is really worth, this does effect the burbs too. I’m seeing sales 3X the county appraisal. Wichita needs some new blood in that office, who wants to complain about cheap taxes? Not me, but sheesh. I think I’m sitting on a gold mine but the county thinks more like a trash truck. A cold beer will have to do for now.
@jeremiahwood51472 жыл бұрын
Indeed. A market appraisal and a tax appraisal are two very different valuation processes. The county bases their appraisal on a percentage basis while a market appraisal will determine what an average buyer will likely pay for the home in the current state of the market. Market appraisals will always be significantly higher than tax appraisals.
@jeremiahwood51472 жыл бұрын
And yes, a cold beer will do
@jonathancroper2 жыл бұрын
Right, but the county is so off that refinances are off, sale prices are off because banks undervalue. I think Wichita is undervalued substantially and some old hats need to retire. Not sure exactly which hats.
@jonathancroper2 жыл бұрын
Excellent video. Wichita is so beautiful, you just have to know how to look at it. I’d like to see us grow more than 1%, only a matter of time before people stop being enslaved to the dollar and realize Wichita is their way out of the rat race.

Thank you, I very much appreciate that. If you ever make a trip here, let me know and I'd be happy to give you a tour.
Talking too much without pictures or videos is so boring
Thanks for the feedback 😀 You have just made my next videos even better.
I greatly appreciate your attitude. I can see you are a person with the wonderful personality. Looking forward to seeing your more videos.
Funny, most of these places are not in USD 259.
The data definitely has a way of showing an interesting dynamic, doesn't it.
@@jeremiahwood5147 Although I feel that from Douglas north and Woodlawn east is a fairly safe and stable area as well.
I moved here from Oregon and I'm trying to make Wichita work for us. We love being outdoors. Hiking, sotting in nature.....please share a list of what to do outside that's free in and around Wichita, preferably under an hour away. Hidden gems. I like the list you've given but we've done those so many times. Looking for more.
Hey Tabitha, I would direct you to ksoutdoors.com/outdoor-activities for an exhaustive list of outdoor activities. While esthetics and climate may differ between here Oregon, I am confident that there are many great experiences to be had here. Thanks for the comment and reaching out.
I was bor born in Wesley hospital here's my advice. Hiking in Colorado beats,Kansas. Longs peak trail.
In Wichita, Great Plains Nature Center (Chisholm Creek Park). Outside of Wichita, Quivira National Wildlife Refuge. It is west of Hutchison.
WICHITA SUCKS!!!
Yes Wichita has many areas that's considered restaurant row, even people not from here notice that, and that's a good thing though having so many choices of places to eat, and socialize with friends, and possibly make new ones.
I live about a three minute walk from Wichita State Campus, and I love it when it's Basketball season so I can watch the Shockers play. Just wish we had a football team still. Baseball is fun to watch also college, and Semi Pro.
I wish WSU had football too.
I've noticed over the years Wichita is really feeling out, I remember many of these neighborhoods use to be just empty Land, and now they're full with homes, and shopping areas, and I love it, because Wichita is obviously not the small town many people think it is. And it's also more to do here than people think it is as well.
I agree! My family and I love Wichita
I live in Wichita for 30 years and the population during this time increase 25% from 300,000 to 400,000.
It's in Kansas, isn't it???
Yes, we are in Kansas
We have the Shockers, we don't need no stinking pro teams.
Very true
Strong rumor is that whataburger, in and out burger, and Jack n the box are all headed here soon. I hope they're not just rumors.😏
Wish there was something to replace Joyland.
Right, I hear that a lot
He's right about all the restaurants here, there's many areas here that are considered restaurant row, because there's several of them on both sides of the street in several areas of the City.
I love that I can experience something new every time
I'm from Western Kansas and I moved here for school, met my husband and never looked back! It has a small town feel even though it's the biggest city in Kansas. I wish there were more attractions sometimes, but that can be said about any city! I love that wr have a very diverse culture and cuisine, even though I tend to go back yo my dame favorite local spots. I also love that living in Kansas is economical affordable! We also have some of the best Healthcare in Kansas!
I love hearing stories like these. When you only have stats from the internet, you never get the full picture of everything Wichita has to offer
Another strong video. I liked this one, too!
Indeed. A market appraisal and a tax appraisal are two very different valuation processes. The county bases their appraisal on a percentage basis while a market appraisal will determine what an average buyer will likely pay for the home in the current state of the market. Market appraisals will always be significantly higher than tax appraisals.
And yes, a cold beer will do
Right, but the county is so off that refinances are off, sale prices are off because banks undervalue. I think Wichita is undervalued substantially and some old hats need to retire. Not sure exactly which hats.
Excellent video. Wichita is so beautiful, you just have to know how to look at it. I’d like to see us grow more than 1%, only a matter of time before people stop being enslaved to the dollar and realize Wichita is their way out of the rat race.
Thanks Jonathan. I appreciate your view of the city. We have definitely felt at home since moving here in 17 and wouldn't want to be anywhere else.
Travel all over the U.S. for work. Do a couple vacations a year. Cannot beat Wichita for housing cost, friendliness of people (except maybe rural TX) and traffic. Always love coming home after a long week on the road. I can do without a lot of the major chains, makes every city look the same. Try to shop and eat local.
Riverfest sucks. It does not have floats in the parade just cars and they do not do the bath tub races or any of the good stuff they used to do back in the day, they used to have literally thousands of people from other states come to it but not anymore. It is very boring and nothing going on
Hi is the riverside area considerably safe for a single female. Like around Waterwalk apartments area?
Feeling safe is going to be subjective to each person. With that said, the majority of the area in and around downtown is alive and well with singles of all stages of life which leads me to believe most feel comfortably safe in those areas.
I live in Wichita. Have all my life. Riverside is fine but like anywhere suffers from a lot of homeless. They are generally harmless. Just don't go too far south or North, I'd advise as East as possible if you can afford it and are worried about crime.
Yeah If you enjoy coke on the daily
Live-in Wichita for 13yrs lovey heriver walk festival grab a turkey leg from the grill great people the white folks are the best me been a foreigner and love the way of life great place to live.
Love Kansas the girls are the greatest good living
I got a Kansas girl too and I totally agree
You're going to find crime in most bigger towns and cities. Many of them are Domestic, however we had a shooting last Saturday night. There are some places you know not to go to. Keep your mouth, mind your own business, and you should be fine. I think I'm safer here than Chicago, New York, or Michigan.
Wise words
