AHHH - GUY CLARK !! I actually met Guy and jammed with at a campfire at the Kerrville Folk festival in Texas many years ago. After the stage shows , there were many 'campfire jams" where people carrying acoustic guitars and join in jams with other folks sitting around campfires. Each person would play an original tune and then stay or leave. It was before GUY was really well known I knew back then that his songs were the best of the group ! It was an honor of my life ! You did a fantastic job, and I am a fan of your talents Sir.

Please come back !! 🙂 Really good lesson. You are the only one who has actually taken the time to go through each step to teach this introduction. A few years back when I was just starting and learning how to play Nights in White Satin your lesson was the only one I watched .... for the same reason. You teach (like Marty). You take the time to teach. Thanks

Thank you for taking the time to write it out to show us and so we can write it down for us to learn and also for showing us up close to how you are plucking and in what order to pluck them in. This is going to be a really big help in teaching us how to practice Travis picking I was looking for exactly this type of lesson on Travis picking I am happy that I came across your site. And I have heard of John Prime and I wanted to learn one of his songs that I heard on KZread but I can't remember which one it was but I do have it saved in my library on my iPad I hope you have that one I really wanted to learn his songs though he is an amazing but not well known but should be artist. So thank you for being here and teaching us how to Travis Pick.

Isn't it weird that when you trying to teach Travis picking it is harder to teach it than to just play it normally, I have seen a lot of people that give lessons on line on how to Travis pick and they have no problems playing it at normal speed but when they try to teach it they slow it down so we can learn it but they struggle with it themselves I think because they have to stop and think of which string and in what order to play it, I find it curious.

I don’t have tabs I just play by ear. Once you have the finger pattern down it’s pretty much all repetitive. Keep at it you’ll get it
