Thoroughly agree! Dress for the slide, not the ride!
Thank you for the comment. Glad you agree.
That's why they're called accidents you can't anticipate them. So you're careful, competent, or only going for a short way? Don't forget the drunk, tired, sick, distracted, cage driver.
Exactly!
Brakefree test. I tested on motorcycle ride (Goldwing)which consisted of 150+ miles through twisties, and city, and country roads with speeds ranging from 25 to 60. The brake light only activated about 3 out of 30+ slowing down/downshifts. And ONLY worked consistently with hard braking. Since I also ride e-bikes alot. I tested on a 37+ mile trail ride with my wife following me. Note in both motorcycle and ebike tests, I am in constant communication via sena communication with friend and or wife following me. Ebike testing was actually no better. Slowing down- brake light never worked. Hard stop worked ok but had to be very hard stop resulting in locking up brakes. Interestingly brake would light up when turning my head to the right but not left without slowing down or stopping. Strange. Almost seems like sensors are misplaced or?? In my humble opinion perhaps a sensitivity adjustment would help? Just a thought……
Thank you for sharing your insight.
The trident 660 is my dream bike. But I hope to buy the scrambler 400x.
You won't regret it!
Eating - you can add hospital cafeterias to that list as well, cheaper than restaurants and pretty good food for the most part.
Never would have thought of that one! Thanks for the tip.
That’s an awesome bike. Perfect choice for a wonderful ride and great cause. Bacon On Young Lady!
Thank you!
Great review! Hard to believe that the 900 goes through chains that fast. I've been contemplating the tiger 900 vs the 1200. I prefer the shaft drive of the 1200 but I am not sure about the cost of maintenance. Its quite a bit...not as much as a BMW but more than my current goldwing.
I'm pretty meticulous about maintaining the chain. It's about the same as other bikes I've owned.
Love it. I told my mom and family i was gonna sell my kawasaki klx650 ive ridden since '95 when i turned 60. Then i wss like 'ok, so I'm 60, I'll sell it after this season". Middle of the summer I lost my mom, wound up with money I'd rather not have had. Labor day weekend i shined it up and it sold the next day. I'd had my eye on the Triumph 850 Sport for a couple years but just knew I'd never have. Well, just a few weeks later I wandered into the Triumph dealer and rode out on my Tiger 900 GT Aragon (with a heated seat as part of the deal) and LOVE IT! Change of plan😆. My new plan was to use it for 3-4 day weekends as many as possible spring thru fall to go places, see things, and visit people. Then the costly reality of relying on motel rooms led to a really nice tent. Ive gotten a late start this season on those trips but ive got rough plans and look forward to using up my vacation time rather than taking off Decembers and hanging around at home.
I LOVE this! Thank you so much for sharing your story! Hope to see you out there one day.
It was so amazing to meet you and have the honor to be interviewed for your channel! 🥰 See you next year! ❤🤞

I hope you are Amanda, because I just have to tell you the old racing joke; How do you make a small fortune racing? Start out with a large fortune. As a former racer myself, I would like you to know that this hobby is one of the most expensive hobbies there are. It's right up there with speed boat ownership, and flying. It's also incredibly addictive, like crack cocaine. I'm not saying it's not worth it, but there does come a point of diminishing returns, and you need to know when to say when.
GJ!
Ty!
Thank you very much! Helps me narrow down my purchase. Looking at the 850 also would love your opinion. Do you ever do group rides where we can ride w/you? Would be great.
Glad to hear it helped! The group ride is a great idea. I'll have to look into how to coordinate one.
I’ve had my 850 sport for 2.5 years now and love it, but would advise having quick shifter, heated grips and a centre stand fitted. The rear suspension is fine for one up riding plus luggage. Ignore the advised settings by Triumph it needs 10 turns on the preload for solo riding minimum (l’m 14.5stone with riding gear) 15 with luggage or it drags its arse! If you do lots of 2 up touring the rear suspension at max preload is arse down again. That in my opinion is its only weak point. The motor’s a gem and easily keeps up with larger capacity exotica.
@@MichaelWilliams-jc2ui than you so much for adding this info about the sport!
Builder Bars are my go-to road meal!
Yes! I get those sometimes too.
Just hard to believe on the new 2024 you still can't see the odometer or trip during regular riding mode. That should stay up at all times.
I totally agree
It' s very simpel, because you also find your odo-meter in your MyTriumph app under My Garage. Thank you!
What min. rpm to use the quickshifter ?
Menu dusplay should have tpms, engine and coolant temps in ine display, with normal data.
I agree.
Data on TFT should be accessable with one button to many separate menu items
Yes, just the Home button and then toggle through the menus.
Please try to show correct mounting on Triumph Tiger 900 GT Pro 2024 of its accessory 45 L tailbag with the pillion seat reserved for the passenger.
Great question. However, I can't think of a way you could do that. The pillion seat is where mine goes.
I have the Rally version. Very great review. I added T-Rex racing skid plate and upper and lower crash bars. Outback motorteck pannier rack which fit my mosko moto soft panniers, also Outback is developing hard sided panniers that works with mosko moto. The luggage rack is T-Rex also haven't found a top box I am impressed with as many are plastic. A Corbin seat and road lights. Hit a skunk at night and a deer but did drop the bike just broke a mirror, double take mirrors on ram mounts. Look for different windshield. Need a bike for my wife rides with. Wanted the new NT1100 but Honda will not import to the US it only for EU. The US dealer won't carry it as no market and may hurt the Very expensive Goldwing sales. There is a big market for the super sport bikes, who would ride one 300 miles. The Transalp is not a 2up touring bike and most reviews are compared with other and they are biased against honda always, if the bike was a tricycle the tricycle would win. This is the best honest motorcycle review. Thanks. 20k on mine. My true adventure bike is the CRF300L Rally, I shipped to the Philippines where we live.
Thank you for the awesome upgrade details! I'm very glad you like the review. 😀
The biggest change for 24 is the 18k mile valve check interval verses 12K miles.
Bmw is yearly , independent of km
Is this new? For the boxers it’s always been 12K miles for the valve check. My ‘15 GSA is the newest BMW I have. I was thinking but don’t know for sure the new K bikes would tell you when to service the valves. 6000 more miles between valve checks on the Tiger is a big deal because the bike has to be stripped just to get to the valves. When you get to 36,000 miles you have saved a lot of money by skipping a valve service.
You are correct, that changed. Thank you for the added information.
The Versys must be really cramped as far as legs go. I have a Tiger 850 sport (essentially a base 900) and find the leg position a little cramped and I'm only 5'7"!
It's definitely a bit cramped compared to the 900 GT PRO.
Are you going to ride and review a 2024 BMW 1300 GS? Great channel.
Thank you! That's a good idea, but the 1300 is much larger than I would need. I'll check with a local BMW dealership though so keep checking in!
If you have style 2 or style 3 selected, you can see the odometer when you display the page with the next service date/mileage (which is at the same level as the TPMS, so press left/right on the four-way if the TPMS is displaying).
Thank you for the additional info!
The screen is easily adjusted on the move. You need to push the bar away to release the tension not just yank it. You didn't mention the extra power, better fuel consumption or much longer service intervals. Not a very accurate review I'm afraid.
I'm sorry you found the review lacking. I was actually pushing against the spring as you describe. I believe it's a difference in strength. My point is that there are other ways that are available on the market to adjust the screen. This was an overview, not detailed specs, just things I noticed while riding.
I stumbled across your channel because I am in the market for a mid-size ADV bike and the Tiger 900 (Rally Pro) is at the top of my list. I love your long-term owner videos!
Thank you! So glad you found it.
I wonder why the 900 doesn't use a smart key fob like my 1200?
Perhaps a suggestion for future model updates? Triumph really seems to listen to us, I'd send that to them as a comment.
I have a 23 1200 GT Explorer. I wonder what changes are on the 24 model?
Good question! I'll put that on my list for future videos.
Thank you very much for the video, I'm currently in the market for a touring bike (coming from a naked 750) and the Tiger 900 GT PRO is at the very top of my shortlist now. Like someone said it's great to see actual impressions and experience with the bike instead of quoting specs - really appreciate this. Cheers from Poland, safe travels! :)
Thank you so much! I really appreciate the compliment.
Doodle highly recommends lone rider luggage. Semi soft luggage. Pay attention to the mounting brackets for the tiger.
Thank you for the recommendation. I'm looking at alternatives now.
I’m new to your channel and I’m riding again after 40yrs. I’ve been riding for one yr now and looking to upgrade my bike. Thank you for the videos & info on this tiger. 😊
Welcome back! Glad you found the channel.
Just grab the windscreen by the very top edge, push forward then up or down. More leverage and easier to move.
My point is that it is not designed to be manhandled that way. I also lack the upper body weight and strength to do this to lift it, only to push it down. Other bikes have easier adjustment methods like electric or twist knobs.
@@Czeching_Out_America 1200 same problem, 2 hands and nothing happens,1 drop of oil....🤗
@martinbruins6396 I'll have to give the oil a try. I think it's how strong the springs are though.
Actually the windscreen is easily adjustable while riding. Simply push forward then up or down. If you just grab the bar and try to move up or down it won't move.
I do exactly that and i don't have enough strength/ weight behind it to move it.
The tank protector is very easily damaged. I've done only 1600km and it's starting to look bad which is crazy. Saw another person on Facebook also asking what to do about it due to also starting to look nasty. I like the idea, it's great. All tanks should have this out of the box, but rubber should be better than what they used. For handlebars, officially they only moved RP handlebars 1,5 ar 2 cm backwards compared to GT Pro. I was able to feel this difference that Rally Pro requires way less leaning forward and no pain in my back compared to GT. For moving windscreen, you need to push from yourself first, only after that lift it. Maybe it's too far to reach, but you barely push it forward and that is not enough to move it out of position lock. Most of your pushing is up which won't do anything until position is unlocked by a forward push. Anyway, even doing correctly it's not that easy. 2024 engine is reworked. More power, better fuel efficiency (by almost 10%!). Most importantly valve check now 18k miles instead of 12k. Other changes: 1. Different fog lights, rated a bit more in W and doesn't require repositioning when adding tank protector crash bar. 2. Seat in low position now leaves big gap (unlike in 2023 model). If there's no gap, it's not mounted correctly (tongue need to go under, otherwise it will break because seat is holding on it). Meanwhile the seat in high position can jump out of place. The tongue hole is too big, there's plenty of movement available for seat. (again, not just my opinion, plenty people in Facebook reporting the same issues) 3. Quick shifter is updated and taken from 1200. It should be also be better protected for a common issue of rain/water. There's an extra rubber. 4. There are some changes for hot air venting, but I don't think it does much (they added a couple of holes on side plastics).
Thank you for the additional level of detail in the changes!
I give this presentation & reviewing five stars! ❤
Thank you so much!
Nice
Thanks!
Tiger 900 gt pro is an amazing bike. Took me a while to find something adventure and at the same time light and low. It is very easy to handle, unlike say gs850.
Totally agree! I'm very happy with my decision to purchase my Tiger.
If you’re concerned about the lower gearing you can put the front sprocket from the speed on the scrambler…gearbox the same otherwise
Interesting suggestion. Thanks for your input!
I'd choose the Speed 400 hands down.
I think it's about the kind of riding you'd want to do.
@@Czeching_Out_America True but this ain't no off road bike! If I truly wanted to ride proper off road (which at 72 i doesn't seem prudent) I'd buy a Honda crf 300
I love mine
Glad to hear you are enjoying it!
I’ve got a Triumph tiger 850 Sport 2023 model similar but smaller display. I find it really difficult to understand how to access the Odo meter and why Triumph has over complicated in my opinion a display that is supposed to be helpful and communicate information. Your video is the first video I’ve that actually shows what buttons to press. Thank you.
So glad you found it helpful!
Great review. Ride safe. Personally I think the tech on bikes has lead to more accidents with older riders. More people looking at screens and less at the road. Distracted driving is happening more and more with more screens and tech on bikes. So pull over to mess with stuff. Be safe.
An interesting point worth looking into.
I own two Triumphs : a t120 and a Tiger 850 sport. The 400 speed might be my third!
It would definitely compliment your stable.
You will love it.. I own one here in India..
That shifter option of "Running In" will make the tachometer RPMs become red whenever the current maximum allowed RPMs are reached for the engine break in period. The sticker on the tank tells what are the maximum RPMs allowed for each distance travelled. The only thing tank sticker is missing is that the first 160 km (100miles) the limit is 4000 while tank says it starts at 5000.
Thank you for the additional information!
Sorry for your loss. Keep on keepin on❤
Thank you for your words of encouragement!
Great solution

So glad you liked it.
are the brackets compatible with the expeditions?
I do not think so.
sorry to hear that happened! And wish you great adventures in the future
Thank you! 😊
