@GoodmorningGoodnight4 ай бұрын
@@super679theoriginal not that I know of. The Plack is supposed to work without at tube. Louder and much lighter than stock. Also deletes one of the 3 catalytic converters. My biggest problem with the Plack is that it's actually a little bit droney on highway trips. The drone occurs right around 3,000 RPM. But that's pretty much where you are on the highway all the time. And unless you shift down to a lower gear and run the RPMs up to 4,000rpm that drone pretty much is there. So if you are going to do a lot of commuting in your car, I don't recommend the plack exhaust

Whenever I torqued my wheels to spec on my Evora they would make clicking noises in turns. After another half turn they were always quiet. I'm skeptical if Lotus thought through the wheel bolt torque spec rating.
@GoodmorningGoodnight4 ай бұрын
I had an issue on track where I was taking an aggressive line over a curb and after that my wheel had a shimmy. It felt like it was out of balance. I thought maybe I had lost a wheel weight. But no. I just had to loosen the wheel bolts and then tighten them back down and it re-centered the wheel. So I'm definitely on board for a bit More torque on the wheels.
@super679theoriginal4 ай бұрын
Yoooooo IS THAT what the clicking is??? Ive been doing manual spec torque, but last time I heard clicking I took a look and found a rear right axle boot rip. I attributed it to that, but it has come back! I'm going to torque down and I'll check back in in a month. Unless I have another boot rip 😅

Swapping to wheel studs is well worth it if you need to change wheels at any consistent interval like tracking. I also do 80ft lbs for torque just since its easier to get on the ole torque wrench and haven't had any issues with bolts or studs

My honest review is that I'm very happy with the new head unit but I bought it used from a friend. I'm thinking if did not have access to the used model I would go for a newer model that had wireless Apple CarPlay or wireless Android auto. That would be my only change. I do like the Alpine unit and I would just make sure that any new Alpine would use the same connectors. What I'm saying is don't feel like you need to search out this specific model to be a happy. I would recommend other alpine models as long as they have the similar connector.

I'm not using Aux on my install. But I believe there are multiple other inputs for Aux on the back of the unit.
Having spent a frustrating hour yesterday failing to get the top back on, after watching your video, did it in about 10 minutes. Many thanks.
Glad I could help! It's an awkward thing, the way it's designed and where it's placed in the car.
@@GoodmorningGoodnight I found a smear of silicon grease on the inside mating surfaces on each end of the convoluted hose assembly made refitting a lot easier.
Youre actually turning in too late for T7 (the one you keep saying you turned in too early). You need to trail brake to help rotate the car through that corner. As you already know, T2-3-4 are about 10mph too slow and you barely need to lift to get through T2.
Great advice - I'll be back at the track soon to try it!
Ryan Goodnight: I get concerned when aluminum parts are shipped because aluminum is relatively weak. This box has a crease... but I think it'll be ok. Also Ryan Goodnight: Tosses freshly-removed-from-the-box Aluminum parts to the ground with a "let Jesus take the wheel" approach immediately after commenting on the crease in the box.
HAHA I should work for FEDEX! lol. I realized once I took the parts out that they're pretty stout. 11 gauge (0.090”) is what CorkSport advertises.
Do you have any plans to do the plack exhaust? I've been thinking of it, and its not too pricey, I'm just afraid to go for it.
I have a Plack exhaust! Came with the car from the previous owner. It's as loud as you'd want it to be.
@@GoodmorningGoodnight Did they get the car tuned after it?
@@super679theoriginal not that I know of. The Plack is supposed to work without at tube. Louder and much lighter than stock. Also deletes one of the 3 catalytic converters. My biggest problem with the Plack is that it's actually a little bit droney on highway trips. The drone occurs right around 3,000 RPM. But that's pretty much where you are on the highway all the time. And unless you shift down to a lower gear and run the RPMs up to 4,000rpm that drone pretty much is there. So if you are going to do a lot of commuting in your car, I don't recommend the plack exhaust
Might not rattle but do you hear rocks constantly pinging off of it?
I heard it rattle one time under hard braking. But that was it. Nothing since. No rock noises.
Y U NO GO WHEEL STUD CONVERSION? ET WRACE KAR, NO? 🥴
Will do in the future perhaps. In the mean time. These studs weight less
Whenever I torqued my wheels to spec on my Evora they would make clicking noises in turns. After another half turn they were always quiet. I'm skeptical if Lotus thought through the wheel bolt torque spec rating.
Yeah, I don't understand why Lotus suggested such a low torque number. Unless they were using grease on the threads or something
Hi i do enjoy your videos especially the one where you visited the Lotus factory I'm in the UK so its easy for me to go there. Now that you have had a chance to use your new head unit would you recommend it.
Thank you for your quick reply very helpful please don't stop doing your KZread videos and its also good seeing your kids helping you on the Evora.
Nice tip 👍 The rubber stops on either side of the tailgate can be screwed in a bit by hand to create a tighter seal & hopefully avoid a wet trunk in future
Excellent. I'll take a look at that!
Do your steering wheel controls work I can’t get mine to did you have to wire anything?
Mine worked as soon as I plugged in the unit. Didn't have to do anything
Don’t know what I’m doing wrong then
@@kylalawes3865 try one of two things. First. I think there's a app that allows you to program the buttons on your steering wheel if they didn't work automatically. And two email support at Eonon, I found them to be pretty responsive. And finally, make sure that you have the most updated firmware by connecting to a Wi-Fi network and downloading it.
@@kylalawes3865there should be can box which is small square thing that connects to one of the wire and it workes
Drumstick is very cute. These are how memories with dad are made.❤
I believe they will grow up with good memories of working on the car!
awesome dude
Thank you
Jokes on you! My interior light doesnt work!
Got me!
If you get the eonon backup camera, if you just plug in the yellow plug at the head unit, it has a red 12-volt cable sticking off of it which has a cable that gives 12v You don't have to tie into anything
Great point. That makes things even simpler
my unit has a red cable coming from camera and a pink cable that says 12v coming from the actual stereo. Do i connect those together? And where do i connect the ground wire?
Just picked up an eonon unit for a Mazda 3. So I can run both power and video up to the front and connect video to the yellow rca connector and the red power to the pigtail? What about the black ground wire?
Hi, I just looking for an Lotus Evora recently, I wonder it's this car reliable or not ?
My experience has been very good. There are lots of little things to adjust, but nothing that stops the car from being reliable. I will say, get yourself a battery tender. Battery will discharge over time if not driven weekly/monthly.
Keep the superb Lotus content coming!
Thank you for the support! More to come.
Did all your speakers work when you installed this unit? Because my front two door speakers dont work. I did the exact same install and all speakers work except the front LR door speakers. The tweeters work up in the A Pillar just not the bottom ones. Mine is a Mazda 3 MPS 2011 Luxury (full bose).
Yes. Everything works. I did Pan and Pan and fade to check. Mine is Bose too. Try swapping them around. The labels on the audio outs are confusing
@@GoodmorningGoodnight I've switched them around multiple times and I still get nothing on the front speakers. Totally annoyed that they don't work
@@outbackjedi dang. Sorry to hear. I would contact customer service for support or return
