Damn, Alan White’s driving drums - really amazing momentum. And the fidelity, production on their records- fabulous

I can't find the words to describe how this song speaks to me. " Soon, oh soon the light, ours to shape for all time, ours the right. The sun will lead us, our reason to be here" 🙏

1971. This came out in 1971 for crying out loud. It's light years ahead of anything you hear in 2024. Epic. Ground breaking. Raw. Original. Powerful.

I'm a big Yes fan, since 1973. Lucky enough to have seen them live 6 times throughout the years. It took me about a year to get through Topographic Oceans. It took a couple of more years to actually enjoy listening to it. Now decades later I truly love most of the album... especially this song. It's a true YES masterpiece. Beautiful, powerful, meaningful.

You can't seriously convince me there's a better bassists than this monster right here, his style is just too frickin classy and sounds so distinctive, rip the legend Chris squire.

During COVID lock down, I listened closely, and objectively, to both sides 1&2 of Topographic. Believe me when I say I love these songs. However, I find myself agreeing with Wakeman; too long, too padded, too repetitious, bordering on boring after a few listens. Being a musician myself, I've had to take some real hard looks at my own stuff, and do some judicious editing, always to the benefit. Topographic could use some of that. It'd be even more powerful. Each of the 4 songs clocking in at 10 minutes per, would make a bolder statement of all of them.
