Your video sucked. Completely sucked. Your drive looked like you were tripping through Pittston, PA.. You gave an inaccurate glimpse of Bethlehem, mostly third-rate housing on the South Side, territory that accounts for just 20% of the City's built-up land mass. Instead of gazing with amazement at the "golden arches" at the bottom of Wyandotte Street, you could have turned onto Third Street and paused to view the former Bethlehem Steel plant. You noticed it in passing. You never saw Steel Stacks, which is a prominent historic, cultural and recreational venue. That “bridge” ahead of you was the former ore crane used by Bethlehem Steel. You never drove to Main Street, with its 1741 Central Moravian Church. Did you know that the area is a nominee for a UNESCO world heritage site? You never stopped to visit the eclectic collection of shops and restaurants on Main Street. Or the historic Hotel Bethlehem. Or the historic Industrial quarter, built by Moravian settlers in the 1700s. You did not wander farther north to visit Moravian University. No, you were too busy looking at houses "right on top of each other" on the South Side. And as to your comment about "the college area." That locale actually is near St. Luke's Hospital Network, not Lehigh University's historic beautiful stone structures, sprawling campus and winding hillside. You did not wander onto Moravian University on Main Street. You forgot to drive along the mansions on Church, Market and Walnut streets. Or historic sites such as Illick's Mill or its nearby park along Monocacy Creek. Two points: wash your windshield before you drive. Your video was a blur. Second: the next time you think about going on an excursion to any place, please stay in your driveway.

When I first got my CDL I was getting sent here constantly and I’ve come to realize the beauty that lies within the whole state of pa and I’m from the west coast but I loved how different it was from most places and the history behind a lot of those places, I’d love to visit there sometime again

The "big" hangars mentioned around the end of the video were NOT the hangars that you think they are. The actual B-52 and KC-135 hangers were briefly shown at 5:44 in this video. Back in those days, (middle to late 80's) our Corrosion Control hanger was the only one on the base that could completely fit the B-52 and KC-135 inside with the hangar doors closed. (It's the farthest hangar on the left side of the group of hangars again shown at 5:44. (The one with the black pitched roof). All of the other hangars couldn't fit the tail section of either planes and had special hangar doors that closed around the aft fuselage with canvas (bumpers?) around them to attempt to keep out the cold and weather. I was stationed there from around mid to late March 85 through April 88. Corrosion Control Specialist was my given career picked for me by the Air Force. Put a LOT of paint on the B-52's and KC-135's stationed there. Even had a special job of completely painting one of the old McDonnell F-101 Voodoo that still sets on display on the base by an old model B-52. Was told that the last normal seasonal snow fall by the people stationed on the base was right around St. Patrick's day. The St. Patrick's day snow storm of 86 dropped 2-3 inches shy of 3 feet of snow over that weekend! A LOT of good memories of that place that I miss...

Who would have thought Detroit would go from the most powerful city in America to a burned out, destroyed, and abandoned city In such a short period of time. Sadly, It's one of many cities who have suffered the same fate. As corporations outsourced their labor to other countries to save money, the middle class ceased to exist. Even if corporations were to bring labor back, It's too late. There are those who are wealthy, and those who are in poverty. The one word responsible for this and eventually the destruction of this planet Is greed.

There's definitely something to this..but I think it might be something with certain parts of the earth..I saw a video also of a place in Iran or turkey where there's a stretch of road that is flat yet if you stop and put your car in neutral it will start moving and gain speed. One car at one point while going up hill showed on its speedometer it was at like 80mph while in neutral!! Maybe it's some kind of magnetic pull on certain parts of the planet?

My grandmother worked there in the 1930's. Said she did the hair of the wife of the guy that owned Mounds Chocolates, and the lady looked just like Mae West. She also met her first black man, a chauffer for a wealthy family. Grandmas sheltered U.P. world didn't have any black people in it. He wasn't allowed inside and had to eat out back on the porch. Grandma talked to him a bit and said he was a very nice man and she felt bad about how he was treated. She was a good woman and I miss her.

My great grandfather started working at the steel mill in 1901, followed by my grandfather, father, uncles and cousins. I also worked in steel mills, but not Bethlehem Steel, the 4th generation in our family. My grandfather worked in its iron foundry where the shell plates were cast for the Holland and Lincoln tunnels that carry thousands of cars and trucks into NYC every day.

I lived at 617 Valkyrie from ‘75 till ‘83. My dad retired when I was 12, and finished 6th grade at KI Elementary school, Mr Corkins class. It was a magical place to me. Sledding at deadman’s hill in the winter, building forts in the woods and BMX in the summer. I raced at the track in Marquette. We also went to dances at the youth center.
