  I've been watching this over and over since it came out because I love the song and the animation, and I finally actually watched the show and now my opinion of this has risen beyond what I had believed possible, this is one of the best pieces of media I've ever laid my eyes upon.

  I've always thought that Zim is probably the best invader, it's just that he's too eager to please and ends up following stupid orders. For instance, the Tallests order to blend in on Earth. If Zim had used his usual tactics, Earth would have surrendered pretty fast, and there'd be nothing Dib could do about it. But instead Zim's doing mental backflips trying to figure out how to subtly take over a planet without revealing he's an alien. Of course it's not working! That was the point when the Tallest gave the order. If Zim finished, he might come back to report. He might ask for a new mission. The Tallest didn't want that. Zim excels at destruction. He's the ultimate weapon, but he's being wielded by people too afraid to actually utilize him.

  Love the detail with the board having Zim's "evil plans" and until showing them I realized the 'fish guy' in the top right corner was Clembrane and the swirling disk was essntially the 'florpus hole' from "Enter the Florpus" and how the movie essentially ended with Zim revealing his plan ws basically stealing a ceremic animal from Dib's fireplace mantle. The fact he starts off in a maze could easily reflect the fact he's been trying to prove himself and been used like a 'test subject' but the Tallest until being exiled to Earth so he wouldn't get in their way
