    Awesome video! I’d like to do this 3 day trip with my wife how was the camping there? Can you leave equipment at the camp and hike up?

    @matthewgallant3622 Thanks!camping was amazing! There is some strict rules though, and for good reason. Like to protect sensitive vegetation, so you can't just pitch a tent anywhere. I left my gear in my lean-too. Lots of critters so don't forget to hang your food before heading out.

    @matthewgallant3622 Yes. Reservations are open to Maine residents first and book fast. So it can be difficult to get a site especially if your from out of state.

    Since you completed this great journey, looking back, is there a particular stretch of the St.Croix that stands out to you more than others? Likely hard to quantify that, i know. Thanks.

    That's a great question 🤔 Interstate falls is the first that comes to mind. Sandrock cliffs area was great, and loved the solitude of the northern stretches including Namekagon.

    I can't tell you how to prepare, but if it were me and there really was a wildfire in that area, which there isn't. I wouldn't go.

    Awesome video. Thanks. Question for ya and maybe I missed it. How were the mosquitoes? Had a friend do the Flambeau in June a few yrs ago and said the skeeters were horrible.

    Thanks! We will be canoeing the Wisconsin River this summer as well. I don't think I'll be sleeping in the hammock for this one though, since most of the campsites are on sand bars with no trees. Enjoy your trip! I know I will.

    @@UpNorthAdventures we are buying a tent for this trip as I have heard our Hammocks wont work. While its an added expense to go to the ground it will be nice to have options.

    So you actually didn't go to the Indian village site, right? Instead you hiked west to the Mail Road and back to the campground.

    I went there before going to the campground. Very beginning of the video I point it out.. when they built the dam it flooded out the village so it's actually under water now.

    @@UpNorthAdventures I saw that. But that's on top. You didn't go down the hill to the water there, or did you? I've heard that part of the Kabemabe village site is flooded and part isn't. I've always meant to visit the spot, but never have.

    Me again . I’ve looked everywhere for led marker lights with mounting holes center to center at 2.75 inches (69.8mm) as the original ones have , with no luck. I see you replaced yours . Did you find some or did you drill bigger holes ? Scamp doesn’t have them . Thanks

    Very impressive. I purchased a 1979 acorn this summer from Green Bay Wi ! Do you still have it? I only saw one other response of someone else with an acorn . Not many of us out there . I wonder how many . Thanks for sharing !

    Thanks! There was only just over 100 built before they went back to the name scamp. So I'm curious how many remain. Just replaced the axle in ours and we used it more this year than ever, so I've got a lot of videos to edit.

    Brought it to Scamp headquarters to fix the axle. Everyone at the factory was thrilled to see my little old acorn!

    They quoted me at $800.00. 3 hour job. They were honest enough to let me know it didn't take that long and charged me 730.00. So I'm very satisfied. It gave me about 3inches of additional clearance as well.

    I've canoed the namekagon and st.croix many times and have never had any problems with the car break ins. Parked one vehicle at phillipi landing in the town of cable. The other at the trego town park landing.

    My great grandparents used to live on the Namakogan River in Seeley! I remember as a kid hearing the stories about grampa Art Thompson and his pet black bear! Maybe you’ve paddled by Thompson landing? Anywho love your videos!

    Dozens of reviews watched and 12 - 5 day hikes and I did not know that the hip belts could be adjusted. Hummmmm... They have been fine but I'll try them out two marks on the next hike. Thanks.

    Really nice video. Camping in the snow is not my thing. But, that was very enjoyable. You were well prepared. Your wife's cole slaw looked pretty good. The lantern lit hike was really cool. You guys picked a great spot to set up camp. I have been to the Porkys once, and it was gorgeous. It's really neat seeing it in its winter glory. I'm hoping to go back this fall. I appreciate your well-made video.

    Funny you mention the Porkies. We just left there on our way to Maine. They definitely embrace winter here.. lots of activities. The lantern hike was really cool! We had a good time and my wife always hooks me up with some good food 😋. Thanks for watching!

    @@UpNorthAdventures Curious if you're familiar with a landing known as Pansy Landing between Riverside and Danbury. It's about 4 river miles downstream of Riverside and slightly down stream of the Upper Tamarack River. River left. Google maps shows it but the StCroix River maps do not. Just wondering about it as a launch point. Thanks.

    Not silly at all. My brother joined us on the second half of this trip and met us with his trailer to put the canoes on. Not sure of the actual portage route but it looked like it would've been a nightmare carrying it. Might want to give one of the canoe rental places a call. They might shuttle for a fee. Good luck

    I wish you would have had filmed going through Big Fish Trap Rapids. With the low water you had, curious how much you woul have had to wade through

    I hear ya. Cabin fever is setting in. My section of adopted trail is in really bad shape right now. Heavy snow loads on the trees have snapped a ton of limbs and the saplings are folded over froze in the snow. We'll get er cleaned up soon though. Enjoy your trip!

    Thanks, it was. Seems like hot tenting is really gaining popularity. I've hot tented a bunch, but for years I would just rent a hot tent. Finally purchased my own this year its cheap but im happy with it. Would much rather have a snowtrekker but a little more than I can afford. Hope you end up enjoying it as much as I do.
