    Weird choice to make a Premium have *every* feature, except AES256. Must be a local requirement for some countries to not have solid encryption.

    Good morning, I play airsoft and as you know we use radios for communication between the various teams even if we obviously don't need professional devices. Baofengs are currently very popular and I'm satisfied with them, but I don't like the Kenwood connector because even though they use military-type PTTs, they often get ruined. I would like to try a Motorola type system that attaches with screws, but the prices are too high for me. They told me that Hytera uses the same standard, but I'm totally ignorant. Can you recommend a model that has this type of PTT connection, that doesn't cost a fortune and that can be used with the radios we use in this sport (baofeng and midland)? Thanks in advance

    Hytera has Pseudo which Motorola doesn’t have, this is a big one if you are using Pseudo already as the client.

    This is HUGE! We get double the spectrum use and it works flawlessly, including when we use our Hytera radios with a Motorola XPR-8400 DMR/Analog repeater. No trunking required and you don’t have to isolate users to one or the other “slot”. Probably the only thing Hytera didn’t rip off from /\/\…. 🤣

    Are either of those Front Panel Programmable ? Or have an Android App for programming?. Oh, and the "rear mic" is USB charging port

  • @2wayradioshop
    @2wayradioshop4 ай бұрын

    Thank you for your comment. The R7 is programmed through CPS2 software and the HP is programmed through Hytera H-series downloadable software. The rear mic is not a USB charging port, unfortunately.

    The Hytera, IF it is like the previous models (PD-782 / PD-982 / X1-P / etc…), it has INCREDIBLE “FPP” capabilities! Motorola hasn’t offered decent FPP since the XTS-5000 and 2500. Even those were not very easy to manage. The Hytera is phenomenal! And the only reason we use them, other than the excellent “pseudo trunking” feature, is FPP. For public safety “interoperability”, it is awesome. Using CPS, we set up multiple zones with pre-defined channels using generic info, we can go to the specific zone (ex. FPP-FIRE-A or FPP-FIRE-D) select a channel and enter the program mode. The following can be modified from the keypad: Analog channels: Tx Freq / RX Freq / PL or DPL RX and TX / etc… Digital: Tx freq / RX freq/ CC / default TG or contact to use when transmitting / DMR User ID / etc.. It’s VERY comprehensive. Their repeaters, RD-982, etc,, WERE excellent as well. I’m just not sure if the newer ones (ultra slim) are as good and have adequate cooling)

    When doing the test its sounded like you where compairing the 446 analogue radio to the R7 running Dmr digital. If so then there is no comparison two different audio formats. Also why would you test against a radio at 500mw to 5watt radio doesnt make sense. ?
