Thank you for posting this. It is always interesting to hear the views of people who have actually studied the Shroud close up. However, I was perplexed to hear Dee German's comments on the use of the word "diademos" to describe the crown of thorns, and not "stephanos," which he describes as the "victor's crown." I'm afraid he is quite wrong to claim that the Greek bible calls Jesus's crown "diademos" rather than "stephanos." The opposite is the case, in all the three gospels that mention it. Not only that, but even the word "diademos" refers to a circlet "bound around" the head rather than any kind of cap. Perhaps it is true that the markings on the Shroud suggest some kind of cap or helmet, but it is wrong to suggest that there is biblical justification for it.
