Good to see you back with improved studio lighting! Nice video.
Thanks so much... I am here to stay, I hope 🙂
Thanks, I want to play around with scanning but what to get, scanning small thing would be nice but can I also scan a statue on the street or a part of a old dooror gate in an old city to replicate with your type of scanner And what type is it? Greetings from nl
The scanner I have is the cr scan Ferret, and for objects that are about 8*8*8 cm (8cm cubed) up to the size of a human body, that's a pretty good scanner for a small budget. When you go buy a scanner you must really check the specs and compare them with what you want to scan. For the things I do, the Ferret was the best choice because I can use my cellphone as a computer to do the scanning. This means I don't have to use it with a computer, which is also possible, and for me that was a must. I am not over experienced with scanners, but I hear from many people that the Creality line of scanner are among the best for a small budget. If you would like a scanner for small and big things, you could look for the cr scan otter. I have no experience with that scanner, but it's specs are better for very small things, while it's still possible to scan big things, even bigger than my scanner can. I don't know if it can be battery and phone operated though.
Great video
Thanks man.
What fan did you use for this design? PLEASE I NEED YOUR HELP.
As shown in the video, and in the description... 5V Exhaust Fans. Also, in the link to the Thingiverse download, there is a detailed explanation of the used fans: They are type 4010s, 5V 2 wire fans. www.thingiverse.com/thing:1723418
In a year, I’ve only successfully used the AMS for multicolor 1 time. Single color prints with the AMS only worked for about 3 months.
I just have the machine and AMS. For now, it's working fine but I don't know for how long that will be. I guess I will find that out in the future.
Many thanks, you saved my money)
Hello! The Ebay link to the duct fans doesn't work. Can you link to the same duct fans, perhaps on amazon? EDIT: ADDITIONAL QUESTION IN REPLIES
Do you know what fans we should use for this design? PLEASE HELP.
Is there a way to get the PTFE tube secure in place without drilling through the filament feed hole? I'm afraid I might mess something up since I don't completely know the layout of that area of the DaVinci.
Not that I know. But it only takes a few screws to know the exact layout of the printer.
How do I remove the top cover like you did? I can't pop mine off as easily.
Nevermind, found out how. It requires a specific angle and pull direction to get the tabs dislodged from the holes!
Does it engrave stainless steel?
Hi does longer ray 10 watt have limit switches??
how about the smallest object that the scanner can scan the object?
That's not easy to answer. When the small parts is part of a bigger structure, for example, a turntable with markers, then a 4x4x4 cm object can be scanned, but this is not a scanner for small objects. The Scan Otter might be a better choice for you if that's what you want to scan.
A question... I'm currently looking at a used (but hardly used) one of these, with some filament, for 1600SEK and close so able to just collect it. I have NEVER used a 3D-printer before, ZERO experience with CAD, no history in engineering wse... Would this be a good place to start with 3D-printing (and at that price)?
1600 SEK would be about 140 Euro. For that price you would get a very good printer that would be a great starting point to start your experience with 3D printing. Now, you have to know I love 3D printing with Artillery printers, and I for sure think these printers are much better than the Creality alternatives, but there is one good thing about the Ender series of printers and that is that you will find much more videos on KZread about them. So, for a starter, a Creality printer might be a better introduction to 3D printing, although the machine is for sure less good than the Artillery machines. Now, if you are really willing to learn about 3D printing, then go for it. The Artillery machines are that good that I still (after 4 years) use them daily. The only things i have repaired on them are new nozzles and a new screen on my sidewinder X1, because I touched it just a little too hard and broke it.
Great video! Thank you soooo much for providing the bottomplate file!
Your Welcome. Thans for the nice reply.
If its only one direction could be the belts. Most always cheaper stepper motors. Stay away from those red colored ones if possible. In CNCs there are issues of too much current in wires affecting other wires. You actually need to shield those wires with electrical covers.
I understand what you are saying, but as you can see, it's not only one direction. Also, as I stated in the video, the issue is solved and it had nothing to do with the stepper motors. It were the cheap stepperdriver clones the used on the 4.2.2 motherboeard that were to blame. after replacing the motherboard for a 4.2.7 version (with the good stepper trinamic stepperdrivers) the issue was gone.
@@3dPrintCreator sorry meant to say stepper driver. For others, that have had a machine for a while and then it skips. Start with the belt then check the a4988 chips. I think sometimes they can get too hot. The cheap Chinese knock offs are not good (red ones). Either get new ones or call the company.
Hi I ordered the 10 w pro is the bed the same size for your drop in as the 3 and 5w? It looks like different engraving area. I wanted to make the board from my larger Laser while I wait for it to come in
As I understand the only difference is in the module, so the rest is exactly the same.
Thank You so Much for the Explanations ... I was able to make a PERFECT thread, finally ...
Thanks for your reply, I love to hear things like this.
What is the maximum temperature you can select with the heater?
On the display it goes allt he way to 120 degrees Celcius, but that's B.S. However, for an enclosed FDM printer it's possible to get it up to 55 degrees. I have reached that in about 22 minutes.
I wonder. These people who say to use oilers, have generally used oilers before, then ran into issues, and found that the oiler helps them... by all reason they never cleared the previous oil residue or other surface residue out of the system. I mean nozzles are disposable, then you have the throat, you would need to repolish the inner surface if it's a stainless or titanium one, or replace the PTFE insert if it's lined, wash the couplings and bowden tube in dish soap, wash the extruder components... to have a chance at a clean (haha) experiment... any bets on where the issue possibly originally came from? Once oil is on a surface it generally never quite goes away completely, it just degrades to where it becomes sticky garbage.
That's a fact. :-)
Thank You!
You are welcome.
BB Walker has been out of circulation for a long time now. Currently. his page said he will be back this June. I have been trying to order the module for the extrusion.
That's unfortunate, but something that is not in my control. You can however, use the original board on your original extruder.
Hi. Good tutorial! What is the operating voltage and wattage of the DaVinci pro heating cartridge?
Hi, thanks for your reply. I am sorry. It's been a long time ago since I had that printer. In my memory it was a 12 volt cartridge, but I am not sure about the wattage (However I can remember it was not that high, as it took a long time to heat up).
Excellent thanks
Thank you.
Fixed my problem hehe thank you very much !!
Good to hear that. Enjoy your lasermachine.
I am having a problem with Alarm 3 Reset while in motion.GRBL cannot guarantee position. Lost steps are likely. Rehoming is recommended which I did. ON or near Line 0. Please help!
Same issue here...
To answer this, I must see the whole picture. What machine do you have? Which type of GRBL is used? What is the mainboard and it's firmware (and have you updated to the latest available firmware yet?) Is this is al very specific, I (as a user, just like you) can't help you, unless you happen to have the exact same machine with the same settings as I have. I advice to contact the vendor and ask them.
Mine does t even attempt to home now. I get the error right away when I turn it on. Any help with that? Ortur laser master 3, using Lightburn software
Most probably in the laser settings in Lightburn or other software you are using, you have the X and/or Y offset for homing set to 0 instead of a value like 1 to 5mm. This is found under the machine settings.
Have had my printer for awhile now. Just started experiencing the issue with my 4.2.2 board after upgrading the hot end. Hearing for you that the board was building a lot of heat, decided to raise the feet and install a larger fan for more airflow. That seems to have resolved the issue, allowing me to hold off on getting a new board just yet. Thank you for the info.
I am glad this worked out for you. Enjoy printing on your machine.
THANKYOU
The pro has anti shake. And the others don't
Actually, not true. I have both and they are the same. This is also confirmed by Creality on their official Facebook group. They only difference is the included wifi box. Also, the firmware on the pro is different, but only because of the wifi capabilities. You can flash a normal version to a pro if you want and vice versa.
I went to crealitys website. And it says the pro only has anti shake? Go have a look
@3dPrintCreator Creality website says only the pro has anti shake.
@@jusihya2004This might be a regional website mistake. The US site for the scanners states this feature for the non-pro versions
@@jusihya2004 I know, and I have talked to them about that. Their own technical staff then acknowledged that this is WRONG and all the models have anti shake. The conversation can be found on their OWN facebook group. I have listed it somewhere here in another comment. I get it that this is confusing, that's why I made this video in the first place.
Page not found to download the profile please fixet
After I made this video, I moved to a new website provider and in that proces, some of my files got lost unfortunately. I am sorry, but I don't have that profile anymore (just like the printer).
Kann the wifi module be used whit pc or only whith phone .thanks
It can be used with a pc if it supports wifi 6
Great video. Look forward to adjusting my settings and seeing the results.
Hi, thanks for your reply and sorry for my late answer to this. I hope you have been playing with your settings and found some interesting results.
Video is informative, too bad the creator’s responses to half the comments are downright condescending and needlessly disrespectful
The only thing I can say to this is, please scroll down and take a look for yourself. I don't feel like I am disrespectful to anybody. In the few cases where someone asked a question about the brand and type of laser I use and how to use it, I asked whether the person had already watched the title of the video and the video itself? For the rest I have given everyone a normal answer, just like I answer you.
That's a pitty. I don't have that machine so I can't test it for you.; Sorry 😞
Wow, this is so great! So easy to do and safe on its own. We’re about to get a laser cutter for our makerspace, and one concern we’ve had is about people cutting PVC or anything else with chlorine in it, especially inadvertently (some kind of “mystery plastic”) This is so easy to do and such a decisive indication that it’ll let us relax a lot about the issue!
Hi, thanks for your reply. The answer to your reply is Yes..... And No. The risk of having Chlorine gas in your machine (and in your makerspace if that's not well ventilated), is a very big one, but it's not the only risk there is. There are so many other chemicals that can form a risk in your shop, like for example Styrene, found in ABS, ASA and many other plastics (and even some wood glue). This is less of a problem in the machine as it doesn't kill your harrdware, but you don't want the Styrene in the air you are breathing. Good air filtration and circulation is therefore very important. In my shop, the use of own materials in my machines is prohibited unless it's absolutely sure (and checked by myself) that the used materials are not a risk.
@@3dPrintCreator Thanks for those further tips! In a mixed blessing, a massive flood (broken pipe) provided the impetus and some of the funding to completely remodel our main workspace. Part of the redesign is what we’re calling the “fume room”, which has no HVAC return to the rest of the system and an exhaust fan to the outside that we can run to individual machines. (This is also the room where we’ll be running the smelly resin printers and wash/cure stations.) So we should be well set up to keep noxious fumes out of the air and away from people’s lungs 😁 Good to know about the risks of styrene as well, besides just PVC. Thanks again for the great tips!
Thank the creators of KZread for allowing people to upload these sort of videos I was going crazy pulling my hair out for the last 24 hours I'm so glad I came across your video Thanks for your help
It did Fixe the alarm 8 issue! thank you!!
how do you know where it is engraving? Do you use the software to tell the laser where on the grid to print
Hi, thank for your reply. As you can see in the video, I made a bed for the laser with a grid. With this bed and grid it's very easy to position any engraving to any object.
Nice video.. I hve a question.. we use hot knife to cut white polyster fabric of about 1mm thick which is slightly shiny.. can i use this 5.5 wat laser to cut it with ease?
I wouldn't do it as Polyester fabric gives a nasty, unhealty fume when burned with a laser. There fumes are very toxic and also very corosive to the laser.
Please mention the model and laser power
Maybe, you should check the video, watch it and take a look at the name of the video.
Can you laser plastic keyboard caps using this machine comrade ?
Yes you can, but I wouldn't do it, at least not inside your house. Engraving plastics is extremely toxic and can really harm you.
Thank you worked great!!
What about disabling speed overrides instead? Or adjust printing speed for layers below < 15,0 sec? Won't that help, or will the print quality reduce too much?
That will reduce the print quality a (and maybe even a lot).
Plz let me know that this machine can cut white synthetic fabric plz?????
There is no answer to this question. Yes, there are white synthetic fabrics that can be cut. Does this mean avery white sysnthetic fabric can be cut? No. How thick is the fabric? How reflective is it? What is the melting temperature? Etc. Etc. You wioll have to test this for every specific fabric.
@@3dPrintCreator my synthetic fabric is up to 1mm and it is white but slightly shiny side and generally we cut it through 10 wat soldering iron or hot knife so plz let me know
I wondered about the clicking speed. However, upon examination I realized there was metal over the cleaning box. lol. While the head was attempting to clean itself, I thought it was breaking itself. But that was on a 1.0 that I have just aquired.
worked perfectly for my M5x0.8 Screw thread and my M6x1 Screw thread. much appreciated! Dank je wel! (I cut 0.1mm as a tolerance/clearance as he mentioned and printed using my anycubic kobra 2 neo)
