    I had a similar problem but it wasn't any of that, if you are jumping it's battery because it doesn't have enough voltage to start you can start your mower but remember it's an electric pto, if there's not enough juice in your battery it will not engage. I jumped my mower, while it was connected to the other battery pto would engage as soon as I disconnected the good battery, pto would stop. I thought that might help somebody out.

    Thanks a million Mr Fixit! Great video which has solved a big problem for me. I have a Toro Timecutter ZS 5000 which refused to start. Following your video instructions I removed the parking brake and, miraculously, we’re back in business again. Thanks! (To others, I might add that the most difficult part was deconnecting the wires under the brake. Needed to twist a screwdriver to get them loose, but it worked..)

    What's the model# on the craftsman. They make a bunch of units with a large variation in power. The Toro isn't much more expensive; at the same price which if the Toro vs Craftsman is btter? The Toro has more power.

    What about the wires that go to the brake module? I have the zero turn with the steering wheel. So it does not have the switches like on your timecutter. Mine has a feature on mine on the left hand side that has a switch that will let you turn on so that pto (blades) will continue to cut if you have to go in reverse w/o it disengage your pto when you go in reverse.

  • @mr_fixit
    @mr_fixit23 күн бұрын

    Unfortunately I have not messaged with that model but it would make sense to bypass that switch in order to make it operational for temporary use.

    @mr_fixit It appears that I have all the wires jumpers to make it work. I was still having trouble with mine till I found out the reason mine would not start there was air in the fuel line and was the culprit why it would not start.

  • @russellhowell9854

    Thank you so much. Your video is the best on youtube how to bypass the brake module. It's ashame manufacturers put items like this on their equipment that should be a recall on cause there are do many videos addressing this module. But they don't care about the customer once they buy their product. They is no integrity or accountability in this world anymore.

    Thank you so much for this information. I hate when these engineers come up with so much safety crap. They put so much stuff for safety on these mowers that it makes it more difficult to troubleshoot and get back up and running. This tutorial eliminates one of those problems. Thank you again.

    30 seconds and quit and now it cranks but it don't start could this be the ignition module as well I sprayed it it's getting gas it's not getting any Spark this all happened in 30 seconds

  • @mr_fixit
    @mr_fixit25 күн бұрын

    @@carlosdanger2586 I would disconnect the kill wires from both coils and crank it again to confirm you have spark. If you do have spark with the wires disconnect but no spark with wires connected then most likely it is ignition switch related but you will need to dig deeper.

  • @mr_fixit

    I have jumpered all my switches and now my mower starts and moves perfectly. Problem I'm having is when I try to switch on the mower blades. That's when it dies on me. I didn't remove my brake levers like you did, just bypassed with jumpers. Will those arms still being attached cause the mower to die when you pull the yellow lever to start the blades?

  • @mr_fixit

    No, if you jumped the control levers you should be good. It may be your seat switch. If it's jumped too, just plug it back and see if that works.

    The only video of these plastic units that even begins to explain how they work. This video gave me enough information to make a "guess" where to begin looking for my particular problem. Bullseye...Parts are on the way. Decided to remove it out of the machine to completely clean it and inspect everything. If you have more than a couple hundred hours on yours, it's worth it. Hubby acts like I'm an alien from another planet when I'm in the shop tinkering with my mower. Bought it 6 yrs ago at a yard sale for $150. Best money I ever spent. Wouldn't buy one new though.
