Yes the 2Gb version will work for most purposes, you may just find that some specific apps or add-ons need the additional RAM (such as the CarPlay dongle)

It's designed to be DIY installed, you just need to remove the system and send to me for the upgrade, then it's plug and play straight back in. Any garage should be able to remove the system if you won't want to DIY the removal/refit, but I have some instructions on removing the system on my website www.jagdroid.org/radio-system-removal-instructions/
Over thinking takes all you blokes down a rabbit hole. There's an adapter for HDMI to RCA that can simply go in the trunk on the plug in to the Navigation DVR. Pluf in a Roku and you can use your phone and Roku remote or computer wireless keyboard.

There is no RCA input on the Navigation DVD player, you're probably thinking of the rear entertainment input which was an optional extra only fitted on some models

What are you using to stabilise the new permanent 12V power supply that the N2+ needs? Is that some sort of buck/boost converter in the heatshrink bundle at #3:26?

The N2+ has a max voltage of 16v so can be powered directly from the car supply

I am wondering if this is possible... I have a 2006 Ford Mondeo Mk3 ST220 with the factory Denso Sat Nav GPS touchscreen unit ....it's obviously old tech but works OK and want to keep the car as factory as possible. Do you think you maybe able to do something with that unit?? I've seen some East European kind of Jagdroid systems that have worked on it and with your knowledge I'm sure wouldn't be too difficult. I don't fancy sending my unit across Europe lol ...most likely won't get it back 😅 It has steering wheel voice activation and volume up / down...track skip etc .... The navigation only goes to 2012 but not that bothered. Maybe you could kindly let me know because I'm sure the Jag system isn't that different internally 🤷🏻♂️ The S type 3ltr shares the same 3ltr V6 24V Duratec engine and some other parts. Please let me know what you think. If you're not sure about the unit just Google Ford Mondeo Mk3 Denso Sat Nav unit ...it was in some other Fords like CMax etc Thanks

The standard JagDroid upgrade doesn't support hands-free calling unless you add the optional Apple CarPlay kit shown in this video.

In theory Android Auto should work for Android, however it doesn't seem to work properly when I've tested this. So I recommend retro-fitting an original Jaguar bluetooth module for making phone calls with an any phone including Android, it's a fairly simply addition as most cars I believe have the wiring in place from the factory. The touchscreen itself is needed for the upgrade as there are hardware upgrades to the screen itself. I've received and sent hundreds of these units abroad, international shipping is no problem.

Great mod - I am wondering could you just solder the aux L, R and ground and leave the CD player connected. And just don't play CDs while using the Aux and don't play the Aux while using the CDs? Or is it possible that feeding sound into the CD player from the aux would damage it?

Hi there - I have a jag xj sovereign 08 plate - and it sat a while, prior eveything was working fine. But now this same system doesn't work... all u get from the speakers is a crackling sound. Eveything works in the sense of touch screen pic and that beep sound when u touch the screen. But no sound from radio or CD, just a funny cracking/frequency noise Any suggestions ? I did jump start it with a booster pack - key wasnt in it at the time. Please if you could let me know - maybe I could bring you the car ?
