    Wow. Watson has really fallen from a top tier QB to the bottom tier. There is still a chance at a come back for him but at this point he may be one of the biggest busts of an established player I can think of especially factoring in what the Browns gave up for him, the contract they gave him, and the money they are still on the hook for.

    I really don't understand how Lamar is not clearly the 2nd best qb in the league based on resume. 27 years old, reigning 2x mvp who doesn't have any all pro help on offense recently. Allen had too many turnovers to be ranked ahead of Lamar. Herbert. I just don't understand what he's done to constantly be ranked ahead of Lamar. He looks good, I guess. For real other than potential and flashes, what are we looking at?

    McCarthy way too low for me but I think people have the wrong idea of what he is and he’ll show that in his rookie year. Reps were very limited so people think he’s like Purdy but I think the ceiling is more like Dak Prescott. In the Vikings situation he should be better than Purdy from the get go in year 1. If he had another year in college in an offense that threw the ball you’d probably see that. But that type of season should come about in his rookie year so yeah. Willing to bet he’ll be in the top 15 of this next year.

    And I get the apprehension but having him below Levis/Fields/Baker is funny to me because in three years I don’t think those guys will even be starting QBs. And in 3 years he’ll be younger than all of those guys are right now. In 3 years I’d be willing to bet most people will have McCarthy in their preseason on top 8-12 range. But for now I suppose I’ll be the only one bullish on the kid.

    Having Herbert ahead of either Burrow, Love Jackson, or Stroud is ridiculous. Dude has a big arm but has come up small way too many times to be ranked ahead of guys who have actually won playoff games. Don't care how bad the Chargers defence is, part of the reason why Allen gets so much love is because the Bills D stunk in their losses to the Chiefs but he stilled balled out, that just means he needed to at least show something in a shootout loss. Blowing a huge lead to the Jaguars, whose defence was very average at best, say a lot about Herbert's ability to carry a team.

    Russell Wilson ranked 29th behind Daniel Jones? NO QB in history has been buried by the media and analysts more than Russell Wilson for one bad year where he was injured and it was deliberately underreported with one of the worst coaches ever. The bar is being set so low for him that even if he performs as a league average let alone above average QB he's going to make so many respectable analysts look foolish. Honestly I dont even think ppl can afford for him to play well because of how crazy ppl will look historically when you see how much of an outlier the 2022 season was statistically.

Trevor, Kyler, Joe... the resurgence of Baker and Jared... if Bryce turns around with better help, Jameis might be the only dud of the bunch which would be a good percentage of hits on the pick considering the years prior included QBs like Tim Couch, Jamarcus Russell, David Carr and Sam Bradford which... just woof.

    I don't think people actually watch enough Chargers game to give an honest opinion on Herbert. His Chargers scored the most points over like a 3 years span but also had the worst scoring defense in history over that same period with no run game and a HC that was giving games away with bad game management. IDK maybe he should've scored less so the opposing team won't have as many procession to scorch his defense. How can you not give him a benefit of a doubt when he makes every throw, great in pocket, and have low turnover worthy plays. I definitely won't put Love over Burrow though.

    Allen had top defenses for years, plus an actual pass scheme + WR1 and still hasn't made a Super Bowl. He also played backup QBs to inflate his playoff record. Bills missed their best window. Lamar led the Ravens to the 1 seed from the hardest division, and beat a bunch of playoff teams with a 1st year OC and without Andrews. Putting Jordan Love over both Burrow & Stroud is nuts, Nate doesn't know his stuff at all.

    Allen’s defense gives up 32 points per game in the playoffs. He’s statistically the best QB in the post season the last 4 years besides Mahomes. His WR1 hasn’t had 100 yards in a post season game since 2020. And QB’s don’t face QB’s guy they face defenses which he’s obliterated outside of the Bengals which also Mahomes struggles against

    @@zacharyking6596 Allen's still played very well regardless of who the QB is, but when it comes to winning a playoff game your opponent matters a lot. You win games by outscoring the other team, playing backup QBs is undeniably a massive advantage in playoffs wins. Agreed the Bills defense has sucked in playoffs vs KC, but he's still had great defenses for a while to get to playoffs. Bills didn't coast to playoffs from the defense, Allen's a huge reason they win, but it did help. Allen's defense also allows 24.8ppg in playoffs, not 32. 25 isn't even that bad, esp vs playoff teams, esp considering they played Mahomes 3 times. Bills defense wasn't even bad in a lot of their playoff games- 3/10 they held to under 20. 7/10 they held under 30. Only reason Allen's defense allows 24.8ppg in playoffs is cuz they played KC 3 times, factor them out & Allen's defense has allowed only 20.1ppg in playoffs. That's not bad at all, it's actually pretty good. --2019 Bills D shut the Texans out an entire half while the Bills offense only scored 6 (from 2 FGs) the whole 2nd half and only had 1 TD the whole game. That L is on the offense, 13 of their 19 points came from the kicker. --2020 the Bills held the Colts to 10 points in 3 Qs combined. Bills win. --2021 the Bills held the Patriots to 17. Bills win. --2022 Allen was great vs Miami. --2022 loss to Cinci was on the offense for only scoring 10 points. Bills moved the ball but couldn't score. They had 3 points the whole 2nd half. Bills defense didn't lose them this game, the offense just sucked. --2023 Bills held the Steelers to 17. Bills win. Bills lost '21 cuz they got screwed by the coin toss. Defense sucked vs the Chiefs, but that's only 3/10 games & it's still hard to blame them for losing to Mahomes cuz everyone does. I hated seeing them lose to KC in '21, Allen was incredible and was keeping up with Mahomes in 1 of the best games I've ever seen. NFL changed the OT rules cuz they knew the coin toss fucked the Bills unfairly. Allen should be ranked really high, he's phenomenal. Esp in playoffs.

    @@anthonysclafani3963 I thank you for being logical. I’ll say you’re not adding context 2019 we all know Allen wasn’t good in that game, but the Bills offense tied that game up late and the defense gave up a game winning FG drive in OT 2020, the Colts in the 4th quarter were on fire and almost came back and won that game because the defense let them back in and because Rivers didn’t have the arm strength it didn’t get there on the Hail Mary. The defense won them the Ravens game with a pick six. The Bills whole team got outclassed and outcoached by the Chiefs in that AFC title game 2021, the Bills and Allen had the only perfect offensive game in NFL post season history against the number 2 defense that year against the Pats. Then the amazing stride for stride game with Mahomes that ended cause Allen didn’t get the ball in OT 2022, Allen was amazing against the Dolphins a team he historically is great against. The whole team was bad against the Bengals but to only blame the offense is half the story, the Bengals oline had backups and the Bills starters couldn’t sniff Burrow who get sacked A LOT. 2023, Allen was great against the Steelers and yes so was the defense against an offense that really only ran the ball so they were limited but the offense beat up on that good defense. And he was once again great against the Chiefs who were the number 1 defense that year but his defense couldn’t stop a napkin in the breeze that game and so they lost by 3 which the offense is the only reason that game was close and 1 defensive play where Hardman fumbled

    I agree. Tua should be a top 10 QB. Apparently you need a rocket arm to be decent on this list. Burrow and Tua have comparable arm strength and while I would still have Burrow higher up to this point in their career it's not like this huge gap. It's mostly a media driven narrative with Tua. What they are doing is drafting QBs and removing all their help around them. This is a difficult exercise. It's hard to figure out what is the QB and what is a product of the system. I like both Herbert and Lamar. However, I feel like if Herbert had a defense like Lamar has had, he'd get a lot more wins and recognition. The Chargers have had a bottom 5 defense pretty much Herberts entire career. I believe that puts Herbert in an unfavorable position to always need to come back and therefore, effect his production. If it was up to me, I'd have Herbert over Lamar but they are both legit.

  • @truthbearer7891
    @truthbearer7891Күн бұрын

    @@Kyjones2 It's a completely unserious take because the Ravens lose 70% of their games without Lamar even with that same difference. The reason why he has the 3rd highest win pct in NFL history with a chance to overtake Brady/Mahomes for 1st all time this year, is because as a starter his team scores 2nd most PPG in history at 28.3 PPG when he's the starter. And thats despite having far from a star studded cast offensively or exaclty offensive masterminds for coaches. In fact one could easily argue he's had less help offensively than Herbert has had. The only possible reason anyone would take Herbert over Lamar is because traditionally he looks the part and traditionally QBs who played like him have been better than QBs who look and play like Lamar. But objectively he's not even close to Lamar nor has the upside of Lamar who has done more with less.

  • @briankong-sivert6318
    @briankong-sivert6318Күн бұрын

    @Kyjones2 I understand the exercise. There is a reason Lamar has won 2 MVP awards, and it has very little to do with the Ravens' defense. He is a complete QB, despite the media's constant goalpost moving and double standards when discussing him. If I'm starting a team, and I have my pick of active QBs, the only QB I take over Lamar is Mahomes. His ability to operate in the pocket on schedule is massively underrated, and his off schedule ability is really second to none. And unlike Allen, he rarely makes bad decisions throwing the ball. The man knows how to efficiently run an offense. And, oh yeah, he's pretty decent with the ball in his hands as a runner.
