The right move would have been not to pick up vertically and let those legs get around you. But rather sweep his opponents legs to the side of the choke.

That one girl needs to get that temper in check. It can get her into a lot of trouble. Parents would hate to spend all that money for a trip to just get disqualified.

Super dope. Been thinking of trying to make a belt for my podcast but always felt it's way to hard
@halfshellbjj5719 Жыл бұрын
Yeah it just depends on how you want to make it. The way I'm making it is about as easy as I can do it and having it look the most amount of professional as I can. The medals I have made with a medal manufacturer, for tournaments I throw. The as far as the straps, knowing how to sew is the hardest part.

@@halfshellbjj5719 how much does the cost run about ?
@halfshellbjj5719 Жыл бұрын
@@urbanwrestlingnw Well, I order my medals in bulk for tournaments. I order over 400 medals, and like 20 of the large center piece medals at a time. It comes out to like $5 a medal, and $13 for each of the large ones, but only because I get them in bulk. Now as far as the other materials, vinyl is pretty cheap, each belt probably uses about $5 worth of vinyl, and about $3 worth of craft foam. The velcro is cheap, but I actually use magnets in my current set of belts I make now, which i like a lot better. You could probably use craft foam for the medals part, if you're artistic enough. There are some great cosplay videos out there that show you how to make foam look like all types of metal. Or even plastic, or vinyl stickers. Just gotta do a little brainstorming.

Whats the plates made of this is some good work
@halfshellbjj5719 Жыл бұрын
The plates I have made by a medal manufacturer. I host martial arts tournaments, so the smaller medals are leftover from the tournament, the bigger center medal I have made specifically for the belts. I draw the artwork for them and send them to the manufacturer. The straps I make myself. Thanks!

So you get 2 points for reversal escape PLUS 4 POINTS for side control since you landed in that position?
@halfshellbjj57192 жыл бұрын
Yes that's right. It's kinda on parallel with getting a scissor sweep straight into mount. So points for the reversal, and points for the dominant position. I actually took a poll with a large group of bjj practitioners, asking whether they felt side control was as dominant a position as full mount. Many saw it as just as good of a position, if not better. So that's why the position is now seen as level with full mount and back with hooks.
