We are a Preservation company that focuses on the preservation of Manchester Buses or those that operated within Greater Manchester.
We started back in 2018 with a Volvo B10BLE which was a lovely bus but ironically was not a Manchester bus and spent its life working for National Express in Dundee. This vehicle was sold after much work was done.
We then bought a 1998 Dennis Dart SLF. This was a Manchester bus and spent its life running around the streets of Rossendale. This bus was purchased with a look of a quick turn around and Although it drove it was riddled with issues when we got it back to the shed we were based in.
At one point we offered our services to several owners that had a wide selection of vehicles which you can also see here.

Defeated by flat batteries or something more?
Flat batteries for now
That bus stop near Hyde chapel in Gee cross is a very bad place for a bus stop.
It is
The driver was in the right. The passenger has a Nottingham travel pass, not a Greater Manchester one. He can only use the pass between 9:30am to 11:00pm on Monday to Friday and anytime on Saturday and Sunday when outside of the county. The passenger was making a right nuisance of himself
He seems to do that in general on KZread
Hope the universe throws some good fortune your way. Would be nice to see a project go well for you.
Fingers crossed!
If a 2 yr old says it's the end she knows 1 or 2 things about buses. Jokes aside you could probably braze a bit of aluminium where it's melted.
Yh prob it's being left as it's not cracked
@@Mancbuses I don't think it will crack as it takes alot to do that on an aluminium casing that thick.
Hopefully not
Did town and district move or something?
No we are just in a Yard they are using until there other building is ready. But we are only 2mins away from them.
I've been watcching your videos for a while now I am sorry to see you're having problems with your bus again. I hope it can be sorted. It would be very unfortunate if it becomes the worst case scenario as I'm pretty sure you're the only person in the UK who has preserved one of these Dennis Dart's. They used to be the regular fleet of buses used on my local bus service in Doncaster years ago so it's nice to see you kept one going.
Yh it can be sorted either way it's either a fix. Rebuild or a totally new engine to replace the one in it. Either way it's gonna cost
Beauty 🎉
Watching this one now perfect 🎉❤
Glad you enjoyed it
My only criticism is the added music over your voices can’t hear what you are saying properly half of the time other than that enjoying it
Thanks it's tricky we still only got the internal mics so voice audio is all over the place
@@Mancbuses it’s ok I don’t mean to criticise on your video editing as I love your videos so far , maybe if the music volume was low we could be easier to hear you. I found myself forwarding the video to where the music had finishing so I could carry on watching what was happening that’s all. I’ll definitely have a binge watch of some of your older videos 💜
Cheers and yh it's a bit of a pain as I'll set it nd then half way though the voice will change etc.
@@Mancbuses still perfectly watchable just skipping the music parts lol 😜💜
Get a Scania bus
Not everyone is made of money…
Just found your channel , love the content so far with all the buses and this breakdown video looks good too 😊
Thanks for watching glad you found us! Much more to come :)
@@Mancbuses❤😊
Was there a thunderstorm going on or was that your tummies making noise??
Tummy probs
Oh I saw this broken down near haslingden bypass I’ve never been into busses at all but I remember the s krn one’s from when I was younger for some reason and always had a soft spot for them
Fair enough
@@Mancbuses where did you find it where are they all sitting since they got decommissioned?
We found it on Facebook for sale. It was sold with a lost log book but when we applied we discovered it hard a scrapped title and was thought too of been broken up so had to send proof to DVLA to get it back on the road
Do you think the rest of them are scrapped ?
Yes we do we seen a few in the scrap yards
Get a proper bus, with a Gardner engine in it.
I do like a Gardner but I do like the Cummins too :) that be a swap wouldn't it ha
Both engines are nice and have advantages and disadvantages
Brings back memories use to love replacing those pumps for First Cymru until the isbe engine came along.
Hating replacing it
This is the point where a hobby becomes expensive and time consuming.
Very on both
Worth it on both counts 🎉❤ What’s life for otherwise ?
What does the DRA do?
Driver Reminder Appliance
@@Mancbuses i get that, but how does it work?
@@kinkisharyocoasters driver pushes it at a red signal until it's pushed again it stops the driver from applying power or releasing the brakes so it reminds the driver to check the signal again before taking power
@@Mancbuses so at micheldevers and other stations without starters, they always need to assume the next signal will be red?
@@kinkisharyocoasters They should apply it IF the signal appoaching the station was a Yellow to remind them the next might be RED if Green before station they wont use it
Got my test next week so just finding out what the job is like! Also did that 1st person really pay £1.50 to go round the corner?
Yup people do they pay stupid price to go a few stops. It's the laziness of people but long as they pay it's good ha :) The job is easy if you make it easy.
This video is like what I'd been through on one of my worst commutes from Urmston to home after experiencing cancellation after cancellation and I wished I just took a taxi directly home 😂😂
It's not good is it
@@Mancbuses nah, but damn it felt good when we get back home don't it 😂😂👍
Yh
Must use cummins studs with locktite then 3 cummins collored nuts with new gasket and make sure the rear p bracket is alligned and secure i cut a 13mm spanner down and welded to an extension bar to crack the bottom nut BUT USE CUMMINS PARTS.also with the timing cover off check for cracks in the timing chest.
That has been sorted now access for a spanner is hard. But thank you for your suggest. The temp bolt though to the timing case worked rather well to be fair. But new studs have been ordered. And it's damage inside the case that caused the studs to come loose
As the saying goes Teamwork makes the dream work. What was the reason why the bus broke down?
As the start of the video the fuel pump fixing worked loose. So the pump was moving causing idle issues
Good job you made it home, it could of been worse
Yh could of been we were very lucky
I hope not but it's seems a lot of work fixing hee
It is a lot of work
My retarder is not working how can I fix it
I don't know depends on type. And the issue
Did Shaun fall and hurt his wrist
nope Shaun was fine he was driving to Collect Jordan
Glad to see this one saved from the scrap yard!
Thanks it will be for as long as possible
@@Mancbuses Awesome. Just found your channel. I used to drive buses in the US and in Norway.
Glad you found us nice to have a new viewers.
This guy also smoke cigarettes I wonder how he got his breathing problems. This guy is acting like a kid
Smoking doesn't always cause breathing problems but he is acting like a kid. The driver could of handled it slightly differently but hay ho he set out to cause a problem and got his wish
How come in the first scenario the driver didnt get the buzz from the AWS for the red light? But i guess still too late to stop then
Had to watch this to reply lol. The AWS only shows to settings and can not tell the difference between the Yellow and Red. So its saying the Driver forgot about the Yellow at the station and got upto line speed by the time the next AWS warning goes off at that point the driver would be alerted to the RED aspect and because he is line speed and not going at caution expecting the next signal to be RED, It would be a SPAD risk but not a SPAD as such as it could stop in time but it be a risky stop.
48:34 is ironic "low emissions engine" on the side, the smoke coming out the exhaust is insane
lol Cold not ran engine its water vapor that was before we had the engine issues and before the euro 2 exhaust was fitted. For its time it was Low emissions back in 1998
Not enough mirror checks. Definitely with that tail swing.
Its a decker much less tail swing. but thank you for your comment
Can I ask what number bus goes towards Trafford as coming over to Manchester in September for our anniversary holiday from Northamptonshire. And do you accept the English passes Yours truly wesley
Hi Trafford would be the 250 from piccadilly as far as passes etc things have changed but they normally do
@Mancbuses Thankyou very much for me know so we are ready for September. Is it run by the elusive stagecoach or is it run by another operator
Hi It is no ran by many over Manchester I am unsure whom is operating it atm
The 250 is Stagecoach but under Bee Network!
Is it a van?, is it a lorry?, no It’s a freighter bus!
love it
There's a glitch in the matrix if an Audi is being overtaken by a struggling bus...
very true
Looks like it'll do more than 47mph. SLF-SPD's topped out at 50-55mph.
Sat Nav GPS speed is 50
How much does it cost to fill the tank?
for that trip £200
@@Mancbuses That's expensive. Im guessing the tank is about 160-190L?
225L max
hi man big fan of the channle some of these have no come to my distirct portmouth u should visit one day and give me a shout if u do!!!!!

Nice bus but I'm not keen on one handed spoke driving .
Thanks and if I didn't feel in control I wouldn't do it. :)

Fellow mancunian! I need me a bus! I must say the Sat Nav took you on a hell of a detour near Morrisons there!
That was my doing coz I looked on maps before hand. It was just trying to take me the other way in. Its programmed to not take me and show me roads I can't take.
@@Mancbuses I do not won't to turnup nobody their
