  The SD40Es were originally SD50s, but were first rebuilt around 2008 to be used as helpers on the grade at Horseshoe Curve in Altoona. Since the SD70ACUs took over, the SD40Es are now used on locals like this one.

  I also find it cool that 1, this is the only SD40E I have seen in person, 2, I have seen it twice, and 3, it was the last SD40E made.

  I was just at shell road, and I saw that same exact train on the way to a stop we had to go to before shell road! I believe that train is called NS NV03, but I'm not for sure. I see that same SD40e #6357 all the time around here, leading locals!!! VERY NICE CATCH!!!!!

  Cool! It was a surprise for me to see it today, I also don't have a working scanner which would help in knowing train symbols and locations. When I was there, there was something sitting near Yadkin road, do you know what that could have been?

  I think what makes this K5LA sound a bit odd is that it has a 3A bell instead of a 3B bell. Edit, it night just have a lower pitched 3B bell.
