    In a capitalist market you make your product better that what is currently available you succeed , if not you keep trying till you do , when the government gets involved the waters get muddied products suffer and all the confusion begins. Stay away from ANYTHING the government is giving you incentives to purchase.

    Proponents of EVs keep assuming that we can recharge our EVs overnight. But we apartment and condo dwellers don't usually have garages, in which we can recharge our EVs. Instead, we park our cars in the streets or public parking lots that usually lack charging stations. With internal combustion engine (ICE) cars, drivers who lack garages aren't at such a huge disadvantage.

  • @MoSportsUSA
    @MoSportsUSA14 күн бұрын

    Laughable. EVs are far more work on trip planning. Gas stations are everywhere and take 5-10 minutes to refuel at most instead of hours to charge an EV, the faster the charge rate the worse for battery life. EV owners are also told to not charge above 80% nor below 20% battery capacity. By nature of this alone 40% of the battery capacity cannot be utilized without degrading the battery even faster. No mention of battery replacement costs, but "we work...to bring the price down for those whose battery falls outside that (mfrs) warranty". Meaningless word salad. Finally, EV ownership costs are higher, Mr. Salesman. Insurance is higher, vehicle weight is higher which also affects tire life and they are more expensive, depreciation occurs at a higher rate and in a shorter period of time so trade-in values are lower.

    These guys are OBVIOUSLY LYING about the problems with EV's. Apparently they haven't gotten the memo yet showing all the major car manufacturers pulling back or cancelling their EV plans due to problems already experienced by buyers and the fact that at least 46% of all Americans say they will NEVER buy an all electric vehicle. NICE TRY GUYS but you are "pissing into a Cat-5 hurricane" with your idiotic views on how great EV's are.

    @@TheEsseboy hay "Esseboy" i don't know where you think EV sales are increasing, however, here in the UNITED STATES EV sales are significantly down in a year over year comparison. i guess you just don't follow the news about EV's. Fisker just filed for bankruptcy and Ford and GM have greatly reduced or cancelled their EV plans. the only place that seems to like EV's is Scandinavia and they have a completely unique situation that does NOT exist in the rest of the developed world. try reading some NON-BIASED articles about EV's.

    @@jimharvard So what is your source to this? Yes, the US is slower to adapt to EVs, but sales are increasing everywhere. Fisker is a drop in the EV sea, Ford and GM are old american brands that always have been slow to adapt, and they will probably be out competed by the likes of Volkswagen, KIA, Nissan, BMW, Toyota etc. You clearly take the small drop in expected sales this quarter way to seriously.

    @@TheEsseboy i'm guessing you really don't follow EV news much. first of all, Mercedes has dropped its EV platform plans. Toyota has stated that it will concentrate on hybrids and other technologies and will not pursue all electric vehicles. the three major global markets for vehicles are: Europe, North America, and China. the EU politicians have already pushed back their "all electric" demands from 2030 to 2035. that insanity never really caught hold here in the U.S. and China is producing their own EV's which are either burning to the ground or cycling through multiple models. as to the U.S., almost half of all Americans say they will never buy an electric vehicle. and Donald Trump has clearly stated that he is against the forced EV adoption and when he is elected President in November, the EV "madness" will come to an abrupt end in America. so i would urge you to do your own research. the EV "wave" has crested and the entire industry is on a sharp downward spiral. i have a Facebook page titled: "Electric Vehicle Truth Tellers." that entire page has scores of articles and videos discussing the problems with EV's.

    True charging takes longer on trips but I spend less time per year at chargers than I do at a gas stations in my ice car. I take an electric car once a month about 350 miles (one way) and only stop once for about 20-30 minutes. Usually enough for me to eat, use the bathroom, and walk my dog. Never once have a planned a trip around chargers, I put in a destination and the navigation tells me where to stop and for how long. I’ve travelled from the east coast to west coast never had to think about where I was going to stop. Also I’ve never even considered running the heat to be a factor, my car has a heat pump too which is extremely efficient, however, I’ve never tested that in colder conditions below freezing. I don’t think they’re for everyone, but majority of commuters could charge and home and never had to worry about it again

    For maximum range with Any vehicle COAST. Most drivers never do that. It's always Gas Or Brake. Look ahead at traffic patterns and traffic signals and plan ahead for natural rolling and windage resistance to do most of your gradual slow down. I routinely beat the EPA estimates on both vehicles by 10 to 22.%.

    Reading the title I expected some data comparing consumption with and without braking and not only a "regenerative braking is cool" video - I mean, it is cool, but the question does not get an answer.

  • @real_yomchi
    @real_yomchi4 ай бұрын

    After driving a Tesla Model 3 for 2 years, I can honestly say I only ever noticed the regen braking actually give a benefit when I went down a really long hill - it gave 1% battery increase on the way down. Needless to say, that was negated by having to go back up the same hill. As already said - lots of colleagues Tesla's went in to get fixed due to corrosion on the calipers (due to lack of use), one of them had to have some significant work done as he set it to aggressive regen mode so barely touched the brakes and as such they weren't getting used in their 'normal' range of motion. Don't get me wrong, nice idea to reclaim some of that energy but I certainly don't see it as a big bonus given the returns you actually get. I think 40 mile extra range is more than a little optimistic, but perhaps things have changed in the 3 years since I had my EV (and subsequently went back to a dino-burning engine, vowing not to get an EV again).

    The range is poor to start with. Regen braking captures LESS power than is needed to get back to the speed you were at. MAX range is achieved WITHOUT stopping.

    Important sidenote. do NOT touch the EV cooling system unless you are qualified and know EXACTLY what you are doing. If the coolant level is suddenly lower do NOT just top it up. If the coolant leaks and gets inside the battery cells you risk a burnt out car. Doing a pressure test without the propper knowledge will result in the same.

  • @oliververnon8120
    @oliververnon81204 ай бұрын

    You can’t even check to see if there IS coolant yourself? That’s just a middle finger to right to repair, there’s no world where you can’t put a gauge on a valve and check pressure.

    The guest needs to be more specific and give some examples of why EV's are more or less expensive to maintain. He's all over the place. First, he says EV's should be less to maintain as we all know, but when asked if there are any studies, he said they have no maintenance studies. But then he said they have a study at the dealership level, but he doesn't explain it. What did that study reveal??? He said the easiest way to get the EV credit now is to lease the EV. That's not true. But again, he doesn't explain himself. It may be true if the EV you want isn't eligible for all or none of the credit. But if it is eligible, the easiest way starting in 2024, by far is to get it right up front in a reduction off the vehicle price or on the "hood" in cash. Very easy! There is even a bigger advantage to that method when it comes down to how much you're liable to the IRS for at the end of the year. I'm sorry, I like to learn, and very much appreciate the offer but I ended up not watching it, I didn't want to waste any more of my time. As someone else mentioned it got off topic quickly.

I felt the title was misleading and I stopped watching after a few minutes.
