    I like my pump, but beware of the Duotone adapter that comes with it. I drive 2 hours each way to Jones Beach only to discover that the little 25 cent blue o-ring had fallen out somewhere which prevented full pressure. Always carry an old school hand pump backup

    Thanks for sharing your experiences on the Duotone adapter. It never a bad idea to keep a pump in the vehicle for those unexpected hiccups. Thanks for sharing and watching.

    I learned on back harnesses in rough deeper water conditions. When I bought my initial setup I got the Mystic Marshall seat harness because it was on sale for $120. Been using it for about a year. I don't know if using a seat harness is helping or hurting progression. I'm gonna get a back harness and see. Thanks for the video!

    Thanks for sharing your experiences with using a seat harness. For learning it definitely can be easier using a seat harness. As you progress My recommendation would be to go to a waist harness. I would stick with mystic harnesses they are definitely our favorite at kitepaddlesurf. Thanks again for watching our video!

    Thanks for watching our review of beginner surfboards. At your weight and savvy board skills I would recommend you start on a 8'6" Torq Longboard. Hit the link below to see it. www.kitepaddlesurf.com/products/torq-tet-longboard-white-pinline-surfboard?_pos=3&_sid=90540203a&_ss=r&variant=45401223627004 The first couple days could be a little challenging because it only has 67L. However, in the long run of your surfing progression this would be a board that you could potentially have forever. The reason I say that is because even if you progress more and want a smaller board it's always good to have a longboard for those really small days in the ocean. I weigh 66kgs and mostly surf 5'4"-5'10" boards but yesterday I surfed a 9' board in small gutless surf and it was super fun. Hope this helps you out and we are pretty well stocked on these Longboards if your interested in getting one. Thanks again for watching out video.

    I’ve been riding the Mod Fosh for 1 year and I can say it is the perfect first hard top surf board for a beginner. The rocker helps with steeper drops and the construction is really robust. I haven’t had any dings so far. What would you recommend as next board to get after getting the first turns on this one?

  • @KitePaddleSurf
    @KitePaddleSurf7 күн бұрын

    It depends on what you're looking for in your next board. Do you want your next board to perform better in small waves or bigger waves? How important is durability to you in your next board? do you want it to be as durable as your torq? Do you want to stick with a fish outline or would you like to try a board with more of a rounded tail such as a pin or squash tail? Probably another question to consider is budget, how much do you want to spend on new board? Torq boards tend to be very easy on the wallet while other boards can cost more. Look forward to hearing back from you.

    I have heard that the stealth is rough on your skin if riding without a wetsuit, or is that only the older version. It's this reason that is pushing me towards the Majestic X

  • @KitePaddleSurf
    @KitePaddleSurf12 күн бұрын

    Great ?, I use this harness without a wetsuit and it can cause the skin to get irritated if I use the harness a couple days in a row. The materials on the Majestic X are softer and will provide more of a plush feeling when using it without a wetsuit. Hope this helps out, thanks for watching the review, have a wonderful day.

    Been riding the cali twin for years now. Debating on pulling the trigger on this guy, especially with the construction for when I travel back home to Maui. How much different does this ride vs the swallow tail? Especially with the construction.

  • @KitePaddleSurf
    @KitePaddleSurf16 күн бұрын

    Haven't spent a ton of time on swallow tails but I would imagine that you would get more traction and drive from this pin version which would hold up better in bigger stuff. The swallow tail would have more planing speed and probably out preform this one in smaller surf. Lib boards are a bit on the heavier side but they are super durable which make them so popular as travel boards or just everyday surfing here in the NW. Free shipping promo going on right now so a good time to buy!

    I just ordered a 72lt Omen Flux which has a bit of a narrow downwind shape. I weigh 70kg/150lb and although my long history with windsurfing & kitefoiling has made this first season of winging easy.... I still struggle with light wind water starts. I've been learning on the older Armstrong 99L board, now jibing both directions, beginning to footswitch, riding toeside. Riding the MA1225/235. Did I make a purchase mistake with the Omen purchase (it's in shipment) ?

  • @KitePaddleSurf

    I would say yes! The 85L board is an excellent light wind option for someone around 200lbs. I have found the 75L to be a great light wind board for myself (165lbs) so I think sizing up one would be a great choice - Ethan at KPS

  • @KitePaddleSurf
    @KitePaddleSurf17 күн бұрын

    Sorry for the delayed response we've been out surfing and wingfoiling, the last couple of days. You are very sharp at catching the details, the tag on the board and on the website read 41.8L however the board's dims are different. A little wider and thicker which does read 46L. The only thing I can think of is that these boards are being built with different dims and the website and tags are not reflecting that. If you're interested in one of these boards reach out to us and we can verify the dims and volume. In the meantime, I am going to reach out to our Torq rep and see what is going on with this discrepancy between dimensions on the website and actual board dims. Thanks again for noticing and watching the video.

    Hi! Great review and comparison! I have a question. I broke two wing sup 50 litre boards while freestyling. First, the side of the board under the major front foot cracked. But it was easy to repair putting a nice and strong carbon patch. After a while the foil box crashed. Disassembling the foil box we found out that the foil box was not tied to the back foot inserts and the white foam in-between was smashed and soft…. The carbon stringer reinforcements did not help. They just were not directly glued to the box. The second board repeated the same path. First the side of the board under the front foot cracked. It was fixed the same way as the first board. And then the board started to suck water under the back foot strap inserts. It seems like the inserts were pulled up and caused the delamination that opened the way for the water inside. I just want to ask about the construction of the new board. Has there been any changes in the board construction inside, such as thicker and more appropriately glued stringers and a tougher foilbox? The boards are really nice but extreme jumping and freestyle kill them all (

    For the equivalent size (so two sizes down, like 580=725, 780=925), which will have the highest top end? I keep hearing that the old HA's have better speed range, but given that you're supposed to size down quite a bit, aren't the two size smaller foils faster than their equivalent?

    I've had my Odysea Log for less than 2 months and it's already waterlogged. I 100% tightened the fin and leash before use so it's not that. Question: Why isn't it standard to gorilla glue or something, these plugs before use? I'm debating on getting this board and glue-sealing the fin boxes and leash plug before use. Thoughts?

  • @KitePaddleSurf
    @KitePaddleSurf2 ай бұрын

    Okay so that is a great ? on how to deal with a waterlogged Catch Surf Board. I can tell you first hand that these boards can get water logged. Gorilla Glue is great to use on these boards. Let the board dry for a few days. I assume you've checked the board over for gouges that may cause water to enter the board. If the board looks good then I would crank the fin boxes down really tight and apply some glue around the edges of the plugs. If your glueing the HDPE sheeting on the bottom of the board, make sure you sand it otherwise the glue will not adhere to it. Hope this helps a little with your situation. aaron

This Torq Fun V+ surfboard is great to learn on, extra volume in a shorter length. Also at 22.5" wide it provides tons of stability for when your up and surfing the wave. Love they're kites, hate the bar. The flag line not being in the plastic tube wore and broke within a year! $140.00 to fix, no thanks.

    Thank you for watching and leaving your experience with the bar. I have been using it 2-3 times a week for about 6 months and mine has not wore out at all. Sorry to here the bar didn't work out for you. Ozone kites are amazing I totally agree with you. Have a great day and thanks for leaving a comment.
