The thunder blast at the beginning of the video was crazy. We barely get thunder like that up here in Ohio but when we do, it’s usually very crazy the biggest lightning strike I’ve ever heard well actually a couple of them they’ve occurred in Dayton and in Columbus and they were just very loud and I wish I could hear thunder like that again.

@joe_losgar Жыл бұрын
Exact settings will vary based on factors like light pollution, haze, etc, and even specific planets, but generally, low ISO numbers and faster shutter speeds are good. Manual focus is also a must when looking for the planets; this camera has great guidance to tell you when you’re in focus on manual focus mode. In this video, I set the shutter speed to 1/25 to capture the details of Jupiter’s moons, but then set up a second capture at a much faster 1/800 speed to specifically capture Jupiter’s planetary details. I don’t remember the exact ISO numbers (and unfortunately no metadata was written on the raw files) but I doubt they were higher than 400. I merged the two videos together in Adobe After Effects to create this video. I’m honestly still trying to figure all of this out myself, haha. I’ve had this camera for only a few weeks now so still lots of learning ahead.

Hi, really enjoyed your video of that great storm. My wife and I live in Sheffield, England and we are both fascinated with lightning storms. Sadly, we don't see lightning of such intensity as you have there in Florida. Nice one, Joe, we hope you capture more. Paul and Moira.
