Build wealth for you and your kids without burning out.
I'm a retired Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist turned Wealth & Wellness Coach. An award winning podcast host and self published author. I've been featured in places like The New York Times, People, The Today Show and Good Morning America just to name a few. I was born in Uganda but live in Las Vegas, Nevada. After getting divorced and losing my father months later I found myself in a mountain of debt.
I didn’t grow up learning much about money but I was able to pay off over $94,000 in student loans and credit cards in 3 years before I turned 30. It was on that journey I realized the connection between mental health and money. We have helped hundreds of professional women of color all over the world manage their money better, pay down debt, save thousands & most importantly create peaceful prosperous lives so they can use money to create an impact in the world.

Hi muganda lady,, 😅😅😅
Hi there! 😊
Why oh why didn't i hear this is years ago. The relationship angle blew my mind. And it's 100% true. Then you said one leg of chair. Another great way to express the process. Thank you Jacent 😊

Powerful must have conversation
You already know my love
So good! The hubs and I have joint and separate from before we were married, but like you we both have access to each others’ accounts!
I love to see it. It’s a process and exert couple has to come up with that works best for them. So glad y’all are constantly working on staying on the same page. Keep it up.
Great video! What camera and microphone are you using?
Thanks so much! A Sony fix 30 and rode mic.
@@jacentwamala Thanks!
@@mariefils3857you’re welcome!
Amazing video!!
Thank you! I’m doing my best
Thank you for the reminder to do things with intention. It's hard to make progress without a plan AND accountability. This advice, along with something I just heard from Alex Hormozi will help me have a lot more money to plan with in the near future.
Love that for you. Stay focused and you can make it happen
❤
Thanks for watching

Drop your current financial goal 👇🏾
afford a house mortgage
Thank you for having me on!
Any time! Thanks for having this conversation with me
Share a limiting belief someone has tried to put on you in the comments. Sometimes family and friends mean well but your wealth building journey is your own.
I DEFINITELY want to pay off these student loans so I made some moves/making moves so I can without having myself burn out. It’s sacrifice, but if it means I’m set financially before I turn 40 then so be it! It’s for a season, not a lifetime.
If you want to you will. I am cheering you on. You definitely deserve to have financial freedom without burning out. When you think about your freedom it becomes less difficult to trade immediate pleasure for future flexibility. Thanks for watching and feel free to keep me posted.
Lady can just say what you've done to save the money. You babbled for majority of the video. This was a waste of a video. Most of what you said was just common sense. Cut back make more money...etc..
Thanks so much for taking the time to watch even though it didn’t suit you. I can only share what’s been helpful for me and my hundreds of students. The wild thing is that money is quite simple and common sense but the question is if that’s the case why aren’t more people successful with it. The great thing about KZread is that there are so many personal finance creators that you have a lot to choose from and I hope you’re able to find the information you seek. Wishing you all the best on your wealth building journey. 😊
I liked the podcast, although seemed bias only for ladies of colour, I was hoping colours white, brown all ladies.
Thanks for taking the time to watch. The tips are applicable for anyone but we were definitely speaking, in this conversation in particular, to the experience of women of color. However, there is some overlap with just being a woman in corporate America. Appreciate your time and attention. I hope it serves you in your career 😊
Nice convo; what camera do you use
Thanks these were Sony fx 30’s
@@jacentwamala thanks. I'm a Gambian-American living in New York. I love what you do. Keep it up, you will go far!
Thank you so much! I’m an Ugandan American on a mission to serve so I appreciate you taking time to share words of encouragement.
U gota make a lot of money to save 30000 in 6 months 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
100% having the margin makes it possible.
@@jacentwamala you gotta be making at least 8000 a month and not have brand new car with a 400 dollar car note lol with 400 dollar insurance lol
Big thumbs down on this video. Girlfriend, you never explained how you saved $30,000. And if it was simply by making 3x what you made previously, well girl, that isn's newsworthy.
Thanks for your feedback. I appreciate you taking the time to share it.

Thanks for taking time to watch it. I appreciate you. Would love to know what you loved.
Congratulations 🎉🍾🎈
Thanks so much for watching!
Trips me out. I was looking for some secret or cheat code to have extra money. lol It's not rocket science. You need to earn 3 to 5 times more than what you need to live so you can save/invest. If your income doesn't exceed your monthly expenses then you'll always be on a hamsters wheel. Clear debt and save 6 months of expenses as fast as you can. Those are the next two steps that HAVE to be done to get ahead financially. I'm learning that now. LFG!!
So glad you get it! There is no secret or cheat code. It's actually pretty simple and strategic. Yes it takes time, effort and energy but it pays off. You just need to earn more than you spend or spend less than you make and prioritize saving to see results. Everyones situation is different so plan accordingly. Glad to have you here. Thanks for watching. I really appreciate you :)
This is what my husband makes in like a year 😮 and supports me and our 4 kids. Even then he’s good at saving. This just wouldn’t be a realistic goal to set in our case. Glad you were able to!
I’m so happy to hear you’re family is able to save. I think it’s less about the amount and more about the habit of saving so you’re never put in a compromising position when life inevitably happens. The question is what can y’all save? What are your goals and how can you make sure you’re creating a strategic plan to hit those goals? 😊kudos to you and your family. Cheering you on ❤️thanks for watching and I appreciate you for taking time to comment.
Yes I love everything you’re saying about money. You encouraged me! I’m very interested in your community 😊
I’m SO happy to hear you’re encouraged. Definitely pick a time to chat with me this week. I’d love to hear more about your goals, challenges and give some insight on what I think could be helpful if nothing else. 😊❤️
I do work a lot.
Hopefully with saving and planning you can go from working a lot to not having to work as much
So happy for you - congratulations on this milestone. It’s a mindset indeed
Thank you so much! I appreciate you for watching and being here 😊
I just wasted my time she shows absolutely no ways to saved money !!
Thanks for your feedback. What’s your biggest challenge with saving and I’ll try to make some content to help you through it.
@jacentwamala show what method you use to achieving your goals, eg snowball or avalche or other methods, you only speak on the amount of debts you was in. ?
Thank you. So in short, the method is called pay yourself first. I could only pay myself first large sums of money because I first cleared my debt. Then I had the cash flow. I’ll break it down in a future video more tactically but just in case I don’t catch you in the future wanted to share. All the best on your saving journey.
@@jacentwamala thank you
Amazing
Thank you so much! I appreciate you watching
Hey Wamala, quick one, do you have Ugandan roots? Also, what's shoot equipment do you use? The quality is up there🔥
Hi Joy! I was born in Uganda and raised in the united states. Both my parents are Ugandan. In this video I was in a studio. We use a Sony FX 30 camera and other lighting and audiio equipment. Thanks so much for watching :)
It would take me 2 years and 6 months to earn $30,000 in my country's currency. It would take 6 years and 9 month to save $30,000 in USD.
I hear you. Thanks for watching. I am not sure where you live but I would adjust numbers based on your currency, cost of living and goals.
@@jacentwamala I live in Antigua in the Caribbean.
This is the very first time I have EVER heard about having a relationship with money and this hit me like a ton of bricks! Thank you for such an important distinction! Especially the part about 'getting in control' of my finances. Your suggestions are a much healthier way to view money!!!
This comment made my day! I #1 goal is to help women like you build wealth without burning out. I am SO happy to hear you have a new perspective on your relationship with money. So excited for you. Hope to share way more value in coming videos.
