Awesome composites!
Thanks Paul! Ryan always does an incredible job!
Looking forward to that Sony version.
We are too!! Hope to have information on it's release soon!
Was very fortunate to find a Alien Bee B800 at a thrift store for $8 recently. I have been recharged to go out and learn OCF with my ND Filters. Great instructional video!
That's a really great find! Glad you are feeling recharged and ready to take on off camera flash! If you ever have any questions, please feel free to reach out to our customer service team at 1-800-443-5542 (M-F from 9am - 4:30pm CT) or by email at [email protected], and they will be happy to help! Excited to see what you create and thanks for watching the video.
Does this stay on for constant lighting as well or just flash?
Hi Keri! Yes, the LINK does have a bright, adjustable 800W Equivalent Daylight-Balanced LED Modeling Lamp. You can read more about the LINK flash unit here: www.paulcbuff.com/Flash-Units/LINK-Products/LINK-Flash-Unit.html
Is the HUB capable of control multiple lights independently? I didn't see a way to set groups with different settings. Does the HUB work with the CyberSync™ Battery Powered Receiver for the Alienbees?
Hi Joel! The HUB does work with the CyberSync receiver for the AlienBees. You can control multiple lights independently through the free Paul C. Buff, Inc. flash control app. Future updates for the app will include grouping (like the CyberCommander). For additional questions please contact our customer service team at [email protected] or by phone at 1-800-443-5542 (M-F from 9am - 4:30pm CT). Thank you!
Great job my friend.. Makes me miss my hometown of Nashville. Started my career with PCB Alien Bees, then went to Profoto. Now that there is a battery powered 800ws mono. May be coming back home to PCB. Awesome work!!!
Does the app control Einstein units, as well?
It does! You will need the HUB remote (camera brand specific), but it does work with all of our current flash units. If you have any additional questions, please contact our customer service team at 1-800-443-5542 (M-F from 9am-4:30pm CT) or at [email protected], and they will be happy to help!
@@PaulcbuffInc Thank you.
What light can I pair with the Einstein?
Hi Quanisha! All of our lights work together! We'd recommend contacting our customer service team at [email protected] or by phone at 1-800-443-5542 (M-F from 9am - 4:30pm CT) and they will be happy to discuss which unit would work best for your needs to go with your Einstein!
Awesome stuff!
Question: On the second set with the rim lights and the pink gels; do you actually fire them with the flash or just the modeling lights were on in order to create the effect? Second question; how do you keep the modeling lights from melting the gels? Thanks and fantastic images!
Hey Joe! Thanks for watching. Ryan used the modeling light for that second look which created that wavy pink effect. He used our color gel domes (www.paulcbuff.com/Flash-Units/LINK-Products/Color-Gel-Domes.html) that were designed for our newest flash unit , the LINK (www.paulcbuff.com/LINK-Flash-Unit.html). If you have any additional questions about our gear please contact customer service at 1-800-443-5542 (M-F from 9am - 4:30pm CT) or by email at [email protected]. And be sure to give Ryan a follow over on Instagram (instagram.com/ryansimsphotography/)!
Very informative
Glad you found it helpful! Thanks so much for watching.
Any ideas on when the Canon Hub will be available?
Hi there! We don't have a date at the moment. We were originally told early July by our team, but that has changed. As soon as we have any info we will be sure to share!! Thanks for your patience. We are also tired of waiting haha
Love the look of these final images. They are moody and simply gorgeous.
Interested to get this; when will Hub for Sony be available?
Hi Reuben! We don't have a date for the Sony HUB remote at this time, but as soon as we do we will be sure to share in our email blasts and on our social media pages. Thank you!
Great descriptions and results of your lighting with Buff. Also totally agree on TetherTools. You speak fast, but not so fast that you are hard to follow, you just make lighting seem easy. Many talented people say it's the ones that make it look easy that you need to listen to, they really know what they're talking about.
This looks great. Is it possible to fire the units from the app? I do it all from my CyberCommander now, just wondering if I can do the same thing from this app for metering purposes. I would go down the list and meter each light
Hi Mel! You aren't able to send a test fire directly from the app, but you can do so with the HUB remote that is needed to connect to the app. For additional questions, please contact our customer service team at 1-800-443-5542 (M-F from 9am - 4:30pm CT) or by email at [email protected] and they will be happy to help!
@@PaulcbuffInc Thanks for the response! Now just watching for the Canon version to release ;)
Really appreciate the video, answered a bunch of questions for me! Thanks!
Awesome I enjoyed the video.
This looks great. Would have liked to have seen what it looks like with multiple strobes connected.. off to see if there's another video. If not, please make one?
Beautiful
If you use an intervalometer, you could be the photographer and the light painter.

Nice!!!
Great equipment
WOW man! thanks for sharing this really, so cool
I would have loved to have had these units. I needed battery and TTL. I have the batteries PCB batteries but it's not the same. The timing was just off and had to go with other units. Great video and confirms I really would have preferred these units.
Excellent video. Looks like an awesome strobe!! I might have to pick one up in the near future, pair it with my Einstein.
I did, well worth it !!!!
@@matrixphotodesign so happy to hear that!!
Is the modeling light dimmable?
Hello! Yes the modeling light is dimmable!
The black and white were terrific. Definitely like the side lighting better.
do a video on the omni reflector
Did you use any softbox?
For this shoot, the photographer used our 47" Foldable Octabox (www.paulcbuff.com/47-Foldable-Octabox.html).
thanks for the great info,
thanks so much for watching! Glad you found it informative!
What's coming out of that aerosol can as you shoot? Thanks!
Hey David! That is some Atmosphere Aerosol (www.atmosphereaerosol.com/).
will there ever be more options for the color correcting domes like a 1/4 CTO, 1/2 CTO, or CTB options?
Hey Carlos! Additional options for the color correcting domes may be added over time, but we don't have an immediate date for future release.
What's up my good guy, like the video man .. Question, what is that table you're talking over? Looks like you about to drop a couple of Technics down with a mixer and about to drop some serious mf'ing hits! MUST have that table you got. Reference to it?
Thanks for the kind words about the video! The cart is from Inovativ (www.inovativ.com/voyager-evo-carts/). It's super sturdy and is really easy to maneuver. Hope that helps!
What settings did you use
Hi there! Ryan's settings are explained throughout the video, and will vary based on your scenario. You can see the settings for his first look at the 12:28 mark, the second look can be seen at the 20:31 mark, and the final at the 22:30 mark. Hope that helps!!
Hello I have a canon 6D Mii can will this work for my type of camera? Thank you :)
Yes it will
