thanks!!!!
I was able to identify and correct the comma splices in these paragraphs. I still need to work on recognizing the difference between clauses and how to join them. I am more confident since finding your channel. Jennifer, I appreciate all you do for me.
I did pretty well. However, on #5 I removed the comma and added one in #7 after supermarket. It all boils down to remembering the rules of English that you explain very clearly. Jennifer, I am grateful for your teaching.
thanks a lot
Thank you for the lesson. I am most appreciative of you lesson, and I was able to answer 3 correctly. I am looking forward to the next lesson. Best wishes and regards! 😊

I enjoy your video grammar tutorials. The material is easy to understand. I can read and write english, but I don't know where the comma, period, colon semi-colon goes. I understand the apostrophe rule, and the common noun pronouns, and verb/adverb. I want to write well to get a good career in law enforcement. Your tutorials are truly a blessing. 🙏🏾
I got 2 correct.😂
These tutorials have greatly benefited me in teaching grammar.

Amazing lesson, so informative.
The class is remarkable and so is the teacher. I have a question: is it an independent clause: "He said."? Something tells me that it is not, yet I cannot find an answer on my own. It's tricky and puzzling mostly because we have both the subject and the verb. However, as for me, the sentence makes the reader confused. The question is "What did he say?", at least this question comes to my mind when I read it. Thank you so much for this video! Best regards from Ukraine! Eight out of eight!
I believe everyone who wants / needs to write anything has to watch your essential writing series. It has helped me a lot, and it will help others. Thank you so much for this! Best regards from Ukraine! Jennifer, Curly quotes, please.
The quiz has been honestly a resounding success: twenty out of twenty. I'm walking on air, and I would be even more glad if you do quizzes not only for commas, but also for other punctuation marks. Thank you for this video! Best regards from Ukraine! Keep up the great work, Jennifer!
Can you answer punctuation of this sentence? =>. When I finish here and I will soon I shall be glad to find you and that is a promise I will keep
All your videos from the Essential writing series are valuable and invaluable. I, however, have a request: could you do a video specifically regarding the curly quotes? How to make them? How to understand the difference between straight quotes and curly ones? I would be on cloud nine if you do a video about it. Thank you so much for this video! Best regards from Ukraine! Keep up the great work. Jennifer!

"Neither/nor" ALWAYS confuses me... and it does not help that, when I was an English teacher (who is NOT a native speaker), every grammar book I studied taught this rule differently, hahaha... but your explanation made a lot of sense to me!!
Excellent video, I finally learned what comma splices are and why these sentences seemed so off to me!! 🥰
Thank you

There are plenty of tools to work with, when it comes to the, ‘punctuations’ of a sentence. I've learned over the years to, “write a sentence, as if I built something for other's to use with the lowest form of knowledge there is, which is common sense.” Each user forms their own opinions; how well the sentence flows, did I give plenty of time for the reader to comprehend, and most importantly… did the user continue to the next ;) I love it when inspiration comes. Its fragrance teases the nares; forcing me to breathe in… while closing my eyes to a sound that tastes so sweet to my ears… saying; ‘peace, be still…’ rest for a while, for I am he who comforts those who seek truth, knowledge, and wisdom… … I am a witness to him, who conquered, and overcame Death. ‘Peace, be still…’ and hear what the spirit is saying. 10/6/04(jp) jerry price
Fantastic video. Thank you. Really appreciate it. I've learned something today.
Thank you so much. You are a great teacher
You are the best ❤🎉
18 mark❤
I think she forgot the colon in the third question before but.
I need more practice with using a variety of ways to correct the sentences. After you point out how to fix the sentences, it makes perfect sense. When I start writing on my own, I constantly use run on sentences and comma splices because it's how I think. I have noticed that many years ago people used run on sentences and comma splices all the time and even the very learned people did this. Then someone or a group of people, decided we needed to study English. Have you ever noticed that different teachers of English have differences of opinion about the rules? This makes English all the more difficult and confusing for the serious student.
