  It does sound like a flat plane v8. All v8s, cross or flat plane, although they fire differently, without some form of a merge collector will sound the same, you've still got 8 cylinders at a 90 degree angle to eachother firing at relatively the same intervals. Equal length headers with 2, 4 to 1, or a single 8 to 1 collector will get the sound you're thinking of, as long as you design your headers to evenly let the exhaust pulses out one after the other, it'll scream like a ferrari, even on a cross plane!

  So I installed Flow Fx cat-back on a 2 door. Just as you said I had to cut about 16” off the front pipe. Everything fit well. Hangers matched and are straight without any stretch. The bend of the mid pipe that goes over the axle is high. I noticed that the top of pipe is actually touching the floorboard. Is it normal? Is it the same on your install? There is no way to adjust it. It is high section. I am just concerned with it touching the floor rib
