    Oh awesome, the Civils.ai team is actually based in SG so we are not far! You can actually use Civils.ai for uploading building codes. We are going to start uploading some SG regulations and HK regulations in the next few weeks. Here is a link explaining how that works: civils.ai/construction-engineering-ai-automation

    If you are interested in building your own rather than using Civils.ai though it's basically a Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) challenge. I think good reliable RAG apps are not straightforward tbh, but I explain a bit about it on the course we created.

    Ah nice idea and noted. I wanted to start with something a bit more straightforward I was concerned that for some they might be unfamiliar. I don’t know man. Last month I had a call with a major Construction firm CTO. They were trying to build a knowledge base which is updated realtime where the rates shared by Quantity surveyors in their chat to be shared across the knowledge base for someone else to pick from it or AI agents to suggest the rates. May be you can build something like a chat agent which can keep human in the loop for quantity surveying which gets variables data from knowledge base.

    Thankyou for the explanation. Just wanted to add that it would be amazing to see the practical side of the AI ( like being used in a real-world project ). I saw the other day a chinese software being worked upon in which in just a few seconds that software did the structural framing of the floor plans inserted in it and even determined the position of shear walls to resist the defined seismic actions it was supposed to resist saving days of trial and error efforts to determine the positions of Shear walls.

    This looks like it is searching the internet for data on a project that is already built? Will it search plans and specifications on a project that is not built yet and provide similar information? For example, will it be able to search through a plan set and tell me how much concrete is required for a building foundation?

  • @civil-engineering-ai
    @civil-engineering-ai5 ай бұрын

    Nope it's not searching the internet, it's searching the PDF docs I uploaded. If the info isn't in the documents it just replies that it can't find the information rather than searching online. Just using the Burj Khalifa documents as it's an interesting project and these reports were freely available online. You can actually drag and drop any reports you might have and it will search through and find references

    It's not perfect so you should always verify the of extracting the data yourself, it saves something like 90% on the time spent manually transcribing the data. If you'd like know about algorithms for extracting data from PDF's it's not a secret. You can look into some github libraries on vision intelligence useful for extracting data. You could read up the documentation for something like this: github.com/ultralytics/yolov5
