It's great she was brought back, but it's a shame that while little girl brought her back, that the priestess didn't sing the original Mosura song that the twins used to call on her in the past.

Wingard seemed to forget the Chen sisters even exist. I understand the need to separate Mothra's worshipping priestesses from two scientists who could have a difficult time coming to terms with a being's undescribable divinity - but come on. The Chen sisters are already established to be Mothra's Shobijin in the Monsterverse, shouldn't they at least be mentioned? But since the Iwi are mute, if we ever get to see a singing scene (Possibly in the context of a lullaby), then the Chen sisters will be the ones singing for sure

I find no sense in Jia being there. They didn't even show how she rode Mothra to the surface, but they do mention it in the novel. Would it really be that fucking hard? Other than this no, this scene is awesome. Mothra has always been a peacemaker figure (when she wants to be) like we see in Ghidorah the three headed monster movie. This movie has many flaws but at least they established Mothra as a peace keeper and someone that can reach Godzilla.

It's not. Mothra is always her own mother because she's born from the eggs she lays. He doesn't know how to speak about lore even if he had a gun pointed to his head. But to retcon what was established in KOTM would be insane. I don't think even he would try to do that, the fandom didn't like the confusion either.

@@mirkohoble It's a theory that popped up on Twitter after it was mentioned in an interview, but again, the fandom already decided to ignore that if he really tried to retcon KOTM It could be interpreted both ways, as there now being two Mothras (somehow) or as Mothra having laid that egg waaaay before the Great Titan war and it being old as shit, so her body is also older (as mentioned in the novel). But they also mention multiple times in the novel dialogues along the line of "it can't be the same Mothra but somehow it Is" So just enjoy whatever canon you prefer tbh, I prefer Mothra being immortal and reincarnating from her own eggs. It's more badass. (And I hate that he made her need a human to be reborn this time. Sure, Wingard. The closest thing we have to a god in the Monsterverse needs help from humans)

I mean, I like Monsterverse giving kaijus a more scientific background, and how Mothra's rebirth can be explained through science, but at the same time I like to think that Mothra is immortal because her soul is the same, therefore she is a goddess, maybe not one with mystical unexplainable powers, but a goddess nonetheless.

The Godzilla x Kong movies are just popcorn flicks, they have no plot other than what's barely necessary, the pace of a TikTok video, and no thought put into the lore. Minor spoilers - but how would the Iwi know about Skull Island if they were isolated in the deepest parts of the Hollow Earth, for example? Why does Mothra need a human to be reborn when she never needed one before? The immortal reincarnating DEITY needs help from mortals? Come on, Wingard I'm happy the next movie will have different writers, a different director and a focus on Godzilla (which will then also focus on Mothra. Hard to have the King without the Queen) I'm holding on to hope, friend. I really am

It's been implied by the director of KOTM that she has multiple eggs hidden everywhere. So since she was established in this movie as protector of the Iwi from Hollow Earth, she also laid eggs in there. This is not an egg tho, it's a cocoon, and old as hell as said in the novelization, Wingard took some liberties to make Mothra skip the egg phase it seemed

If I were directing, I’d make Godzilla’s different roars a part of his emotional story telling. And they already do this unintentionally I think. In 2014, his roars are just big, predatory roars. But the unique victory roar when he kills both of the Mutos creates that difference in how he’s communicating his feelings. In 2019, practically every roar is angrier and angrier until you hear the victory roar when he’s revived. Signalling some sort of gratitude. After that, I like to think the reason he didn’t use the victory roar at the end was because he didn’t feel like he won. And I like to think that’s because Mothra had to die again for it. He was roaring out of anguish or grief. In GvK, he never uses the victory roar. Possibly because he never feels like he’s earned any sort of win. He doesn’t find Ghidorah in Pensacola, he doesn’t kill Kong, he doesn’t kill his metal impersonator, and Mothra’s still dead. In GxK, he lets out a victory roar after a flawless victory over Scylla and possibly Tiamat too, but he lets out a victory roar in this scene despite not getting to kill Kong. That’s because Mothra came back and that, to him, is a flawless victory.

@@bettyhumphrey2819no man no even if kong continued punching after 20 to 30 punches godzilla would have been knocked out for a short period of time most likely till godzilla wakes up kong and godzilla would be in hollow earth and not to mention but godzilla's super charged atomic breath was able to clear the effect of shimo's frost bite blast in short godzilla's super charged atomic breath is as strong as shimo's frost bite blast and as we know that shimo's frost bite blast only freezes a thing without doing any visible damage and that's kong could block shimo's blast with his beast glove but on the other hand godzilla's atomic breath does visible damage any thing and that's why if kong tries to block godzilla's atomic breath his beast glove would have blasted and killed kong easily and kong's durability is not enough to even sustain the nuclear pulse of godzilla so even if kong continues punching after a point of time before godzilla goes unconscious or gets knocked out his blood thrust to kill kong will go down and he would fight with strategies and that time godzilla could do 2 things first throw kong with his hands and shoot his atomic breath or second blow a nuclear pulse which would change kong to ashes

Bear McCreary did such a wonderful job of making the drums show strength and power, while making the flutes and violins show elegance and love - and then there's the chanting I can't comprehend why they did not use it. There was an early version of Queen of the Monsters that chanted her name too. They said there were already too many voices in all the other themes, but I would argue hers would be the one that would make the most sense to have them No matter what, whenever I listen to her KOTM themes I get chills all over

How did mothra’s egg get from a waterfall at the end of kotm to being in hollow earth
It's been implied by the director of KOTM that she has multiple eggs hidden everywhere. So since she was established in this movie as protector of the Iwi from Hollow Earth, she also laid eggs in there. This is not an egg tho, it's a cocoon, and old as hell as said in the novelization, Wingard took some liberties to make Mothra skip the egg phase it seemed

If I were directing, I’d make Godzilla’s different roars a part of his emotional story telling. And they already do this unintentionally I think. In 2014, his roars are just big, predatory roars. But the unique victory roar when he kills both of the Mutos creates that difference in how he’s communicating his feelings. In 2019, practically every roar is angrier and angrier until you hear the victory roar when he’s revived. Signalling some sort of gratitude. After that, I like to think the reason he didn’t use the victory roar at the end was because he didn’t feel like he won. And I like to think that’s because Mothra had to die again for it. He was roaring out of anguish or grief. In GvK, he never uses the victory roar. Possibly because he never feels like he’s earned any sort of win. He doesn’t find Ghidorah in Pensacola, he doesn’t kill Kong, he doesn’t kill his metal impersonator, and Mothra’s still dead. In GxK, he lets out a victory roar after a flawless victory over Scylla and possibly Tiamat too, but he lets out a victory roar in this scene despite not getting to kill Kong. That’s because Mothra came back and that, to him, is a flawless victory.

@@bettyhumphrey2819no man no even if kong continued punching after 20 to 30 punches godzilla would have been knocked out for a short period of time most likely till godzilla wakes up kong and godzilla would be in hollow earth and not to mention but godzilla's super charged atomic breath was able to clear the effect of shimo's frost bite blast in short godzilla's super charged atomic breath is as strong as shimo's frost bite blast and as we know that shimo's frost bite blast only freezes a thing without doing any visible damage and that's kong could block shimo's blast with his beast glove but on the other hand godzilla's atomic breath does visible damage any thing and that's why if kong tries to block godzilla's atomic breath his beast glove would have blasted and killed kong easily and kong's durability is not enough to even sustain the nuclear pulse of godzilla so even if kong continues punching after a point of time before godzilla goes unconscious or gets knocked out his blood thrust to kill kong will go down and he would fight with strategies and that time godzilla could do 2 things first throw kong with his hands and shoot his atomic breath or second blow a nuclear pulse which would change kong to ashes

Bear McCreary did such a wonderful job of making the drums show strength and power, while making the flutes and violins show elegance and love - and then there's the chanting I can't comprehend why they did not use it. There was an early version of Queen of the Monsters that chanted her name too. They said there were already too many voices in all the other themes, but I would argue hers would be the one that would make the most sense to have them No matter what, whenever I listen to her KOTM themes I get chills all over

No she is not. Wingard is just confused as fuck about what he's doing. Mothra is the same in all MV movies, that was established in KOTM. She is always her own mother because she lays her own eggs that she is then reborn in. And if that's not Wingard means by what he said then he can f off, he tried retconning a lot of shit with this movie and I and a lot of people just don't care about it
