    @@TumishangMasinti no, you need to wind it up all the way so that the power is in the spring. Then the spring is released and runs the motor. If it’s not wound up all the way it very likely will not play.

    I talked to you recently about an S19 with a stuck recorder arm. I tried pushing it down with no luck. I tried moving it from inside the cabinet with no luck. Any ideas on how to get the arm to move? The pipe going down inside the cabinet is at the center back of the cabinet and will not move from that position.

    Hello, what is the best needle for orthophonic? and what material? The ones I buy wear out before the album ends. thank you so much. What do you think of tungsten needles?

  • @1974hurt
    @1974hurt20 күн бұрын

    I buy packages of 100 steel phonograph needles, SOFT TONE or MEDIUM TONE off eBay and I use one needle twice and then I throw it away and get another needle. The needle wears in the groove which shapes the tip of the needle so using the same needle multiple times can harm records. I do not use tungsten needles because they chew up records.

    As per usual, excellent video. Since I've been making my own belts, I've used Loctite Gel Superglue with excellent results. Unlike other super glue products, it is flexible once dry so it works well for this application. Nowhere near the usual amount of drying time before it is usable.
