    Been using this knot since I saw it on another of your videos about a year ago. Kind of a take off on the Alberto but have never seen it on any other sites. Does it have a name and where did you come across it? BTW, started using a Miller Knot for a lot of my terminal tackle and lures. Very easy to tie once you get on to it and has yet to fail.

    seems simple enough. Is it strong enough to tie a shock leader to main line for surf fishing, and sling about 8 ounces of lead and bait? Of course, the shock leader would be about 80 pounds test.

  • @GeneFishingTV
    @GeneFishingTV3 күн бұрын

    Yes it can hold and you can add wraps as well to make sure it can hold heavier weights.

    I approve this knot 😂 just broke off my second nlbn lure on a rock this morning and still had my leader , while using 30lb braid n 30lb mono . Ok I take back what I said …. Either I’m super unlucky and got frayed off in .3 seconds or I just lost my pb snook or tarpon ,atleast 35inch or it was a big ass jack . Legit got ate , set the hook and went to real down on em and within that second of slack I lost my whole leader n lure as he darted to the right away from the bridge up current . Didn’t even feel a pop or drag tick just slack as he ran then gone . Going to burn the tip on the braid to see if it happens agin I’ll know if it pulled through or not but other then that I got a nice 22 inch red this morning and then a lil 25 inch snook in the evening. Just really salty I didn’t get to feel a real weight or even see the fish before it took my whole leader . I really do think it was a biggen with how quick it ran up current

  • @Simonsays710.
    @Simonsays710.6 күн бұрын

    Side note , could it be a weaker not if I’m using 30lb braid and 30lb mono since the thickness difference or is there other knots that suite that lb set up ??

  • @GeneFishingTV
    @GeneFishingTV3 күн бұрын

    Line and leader can be the same size as the leader (Mono or Fluro) or can be bigger, like +5 or +10 size [ ex. 30lbs main + 35lbs or 40lbs leader], but again, watch out for the drag of your reel not too tight to prevent snapping when getting big bites.

    So just getting into fishing seriously (used to do Walmart rods and earth worms at a lake) now I'm in florida got a nice rod and reel guy says I have braided line and need monofilament line between the braid and my jig. How much do I use?

  • @GeneFishingTV
    @GeneFishingTV8 күн бұрын

    For this setup you cam use up to 1m to 1.2m long monofilament as leader or a flourocarbon leader, at this lenght you can able to cast smoothly.
