Is it safe or clean on the broads? , I just fell in the River Ant and advised place has a pollution problem and worried if have bacteria dease, please to care my paranoia have you ever come down with sickness from swimming in the broads, please?

I am preparing a presentation to them early June, highlighting the benefits of OWS and how it can be done safely. Thanks for posting! My first year of trying to go weekly all year whatever the weather #zenosswimclub Hadn’t thought of going there. Easy entry/exit. 5 mins drive from where we live. I’ve only been swimming in the Yare at Eaton Meadow near Eaton Vale or at Sea Palling. The temp at Eaton was 7.2 C on Wednesday so I guess you went a week or two ago? One of our little group and I also head straight to Eaton Park café afterwards too! We may see you there!

#zenosswimclub!! This swim spot is great for a dip/paddle. Too shallow for a decent swim. Eaton Vale is on the list. I did a recce run there the other day to suss it out. How are your weekly winter wild swims going? Cracking flat white at Eaton Park cafe. I think we have a very basic (broken) thermometer. All our swims are showing as 9ºC!

@@swimspotsnorfolk4818 It’s still going well, though we skipped one week as we balked at the idea of a swim when the temp dropped to 3.5 C after several days of frost! I bought my thermometer online; it’s a Silverline brand food thermometer. It seems to work quite well.

Had a similar experience a few weeks ago. Two of them popped up about 20 feet from us and seemed to just want to check us out.

I’ve been going to Eaton Vale (across the railway tracks) to swim in the river there each Weds with my friends. We go about 8am. The water temp is freezing! 7.9 c last week! Would love to meet up for a swim if you’d be up for that?

I lived in Norfolk for years and never swam in the Broads. Swimming outdoors a lot now and will definitely be heading to this spot when I’m back in Norwich.

Steffen May when we filmed this (about a month ago) water was starting to get cold. If you went now it would be about 11-13 degrees. So cold! If you wanted to swim in skins, you’re probably looking at 10-20 mins in the water max. Always swim with someone!!

We know this place very well, but have yet to swim there for some reason. I swear the Mill has a No Swimming sign. Do you enter the water a little further along from the Mill? Where people tend to picnic?

@@swimspotsnorfolk4818 Hiya. Well where the carpark is, we walk up to the little downhill gaps along the river and dip in before the main wall. The carpark end is horrible with reeds !

Matt Val shallow water entry, gradually building up to deep water. Probably the best swim spot in Norfolk to the introduction to wild swimming. You are in total control of how deep you want to go.
