I "stumbled" over her on youtube and that brought me back to painting. She has a very special aproach to art. It came out her in a way only a few people can understand or better " feel", maybe only when you paint yourself. What a great artist!

something very trivial.. a street named Lonely? 🥲31:43 I remember once a classmate scoffed at "female artists" pretty much offended by the word. I didn't understand or the point to be offended. There are certain things that can be shaped by the gender identity of artists. "Art doesn't have a gender but the artists do." the Vegetarian by Han Kang, lots of nude figures of Tracey Emins, O'Keefe's and Frankenthalers and so on. I can't quite articulate the resonating feeling in me when I face their works as a woman whether they intended or not.

I’m sure she curated the cropping of the photographs of her nude, not Stiglitz. The crop completely transforms the image to her aesthetic.

This documentary about Georgia O’Keefe is one of the best documentaries that I’ve ever watched. I am from Southeast Alabama where it’s very forested trees that does block your view. . I remember my first trip out west back in the 80s.. it was so different than anything that I’ve ever seen. I remember watching westerns that was made in the plains of West Texas and in New Mexico. But I didn’t really think it was or could be real. We were traveling around the United States in a motorhome doing work camping so we could afford it. We only worked like 20 hours a week so we had plenty of time to go out onto the plateau doing a lot of hiking in the remote areas and seeing the cliff dwellers and Mesa Verde I was very interesting so all of this said I know what she meant by it having a profound effect on you the landscape out west is just absolutely breathtaking! Thanks for sharing this with us out here in Southeast Alabama☮️❤️

Wonderful. In art school 1975, I rented her coffee table book from the library. Never returned it. Looked at the paintings in it for many years never knowing the inspirations behind them. I thoroughly enjoyed this video.

Her paintings are so peaceful and gorgeous to see. What an interesting woman she was. BUT, she was very cruel to kill snakes. That is horrible killing animals in their own 'homes'. I have lost some respect, I have to say.

Thank you for this storytelling opportunity, as I photographed Georgia O'Keeffe in 1974, first at her Abiquiú home, then we drove to her 12-acre Ghost Ranch house, with a 22,000-acre ‘front yard’ and endless vistas. KZread is running my new O'Keeffe two minute video - and I'd appreciate your comments, please: kzread.info/dash/bejne/pKhkuddqkZTVk9o.html

I love Georgia O'Keefe as a woman artist landscape painter myself . She has been an inspiration to me. I just wonder how many other great women painters existed/exist that no one knows about. My great aunt was excellent and unknown. As an art history major l think we studied 3 or 4 women artists impressionists and onward. As if that's all we've had! Check out the women's art museum in DC. At least it's a start.
