The greeks glorified life and death in the male form and then later female through the bardic tales and then sculpture. Such an uneducated overly conservative perspective about the power and even oppressive nature of sublime beauty. We are now living in a world becoming more vulgar and ugly whilst beauty is being pushed down and spat upon. As Nietzsche once said " If you crush a cockroach, you're a hero. If you crush a beautiful butterfly, you're a villain. Morals have aesthetic criteria''. I stand by this and this has been the unique western way from antiquity all the way to Michelangelo's David and beyond. The aesthetic transformation of beauty weather religious or secular. We have now got to the point beauty and especially natural and aesthetic beauty is considered oppressive, offensive and at times fascistic. Are standards have become terrible because we shouldn't offend people who are just quite simply too sensitive and at times narcissistic.

Aside from the obvious scientific contribution, that models completely lack (Bar a few models who do things outside of modelling), astronauts are at optimal health and nutrition as calculated by personal trainers; not underweight, under-eating, and malnourished as a model may be.
