    There is some mistake in service manual book. Rear shock standart 2 Clicks. Manual for 2017/2018 has this writen wrong. Check sticker on the bike, that measure must be correct there.

    Does the motorcycle behave normally after removing the db-killer? There is no more combustion, it doesn't heat up? Have you done a remap?

    Have the same exhaust, hardly seems worth the change, the rear Pannier racks are for sure butt ass ugly, but they are also rear crash bars beyond the rear pegs. Great video. Trust me I want my rear racks off too. My Vstrom had these twist lok screws for them and they were a breeze to remove when I could. But my current Tiger 900 R well. They are all sorts of pretty much permanent without the original bolts that I cannot locate .

    Nice video, thanks for sharing. I too have seen others remove the baffles and there's a bolt welded on each baffle that is supposedly easy to crack off. What size drill bit and rivets did you use? I'm considering doing this with my BMW R1250RS. I have the same black titanium Akrapovic can.

    Thanks! Yea I was very disappointed with what the Akra sounds liked stock, like you said very “Dyson-esque”. Definitely sounds better with the baffles cut out but still no where near what a true free flow sounds like. Weight is the other issue, it’s shocking how much that Akra weighs when part of the leading advertisement for it is how much weight you’ll save. Yup, it’s crazy they charge so much for these things and advertise “huge weight reduction and improved sound”… if you close your eyes they sound exactly the same. The top exhaust will not melt the indicator light? From the video, it's literally pointing the hot flow to it.

  • @goldnmoto383
    @goldnmoto3832 жыл бұрын

    There’s really not THAT much exhaust flow even with that stupid little pilot hole opened up, whacking the throttle open there’s probably only 25% of what’s coming out of the bottom pipe. Rode it for an hour the other day and the turn signal was barely warm. And if it does melt when we get into some hot summer days it will just give me an excuse to swap the ugly stock signals for some fancy ones too.

    Just wanted to wish you luck with the bike, I also have a 2018 1290 SAR. I'm about to put Dunlop Trailmax Mission tires on it, you might want to check those out. I did the KTM skid plate, Lone Rider bags and rack, 16-tooth countershaft sprocket (so I can actually use 6th gear without going to jail), heated grips, Hammerhead aluminum shift lever and Tusk top rack. I'm considering some of the Rottweiler mods as well. The bike is amazing. Doesn't have the fit and finish of my BMW R1200GS (wrecked in an accident) but a comparable BMW was $8500 more. I can buy a lot of fit and finish for $8500! I'm around 5'10", 63 years old, and this thing is a handful off road but that motor is incredible.
