Watching it again tbh tailed off a bit when R & J left. Enjoyed it when the series split between the ranks and officers. Later series lost that.
Peter Vaughan was usually a supporting actor but he starred in A Warning To The Curious in 1972.
THIS SEGMENT WAS HORSESHIT, NO BIO OR HISTORY !!!
Found a cure for insomnia
One of my mums absolute favourites. She’d sit down for probably the first time all day doing her knitting and watching the going’s on of Meg and Sandy, Carlos Raphael the chef, Josephina his wife and Amy Turtle - the gossip. Mum died in 1972 so the show must’ve been running for decades.
Roger looks so much more attractive, and Ben. I wonder whether Zoe Wanamaker has had work done, she’s aged very well.
Sad that more of the actors from Emmerdale farm are dead than alive. May they all RIP.😢
I was John Ringham's postman. He lived in Muswell Hill. Always greeted you with a smile. Nice man.
I binge watch this masterpiece regularly, Marsh, his wife, them two alone are a class act, 70`s uk TV has my respect.
You forgot to mention that Bernard Hill was in the Lord of the Rings films as King Theoden. He also played John Lennon in the theatre play, John, Paul, George, Ringo and Bert written by Willy Russell. Bernard Hill died very recently and since this video was posted.
The cute stuffed tiger was part of the main cast. Whatever happened to it?
Watched it every Sunday.
As a former infantry soldier, i can say with confidence, that Soldier Soldier was the biggest load of dog shit I have ever seen.
What pad shagging, shit operational tours, bad leadership and honking last minute guards never happened... What unit were you in!
Loved this show❤
A TOUCH OF FROST WAS A FANTASTIC SERIES 4 DAVID JASON
did he pay you to say that?
What’s this music from .
where is malcolm cross now
RIP Nicholas Ball (1946- 2024) starred in the title role.😢
RIP Nicholas Ball (1946-2024)
Watching the series again, enjoying it but they go through alot characters/actors they seem to have a clearout of all the cast once a season
Always watched on a Saturday morning along with the Banana Splits and Shari Lewis before meeting my Grandmother in the local town centre with my Mother (about 1971) to do some shopping and a visit to my local model shop. The theme a classic kids tv memory.
I can hardly remember what I did yesterday... but the amazing 'Double Deckers' theme song is still as fresh in my mind as ever. One of my favourite kids tv shows of all time and like in many of the comments Gillian Bailey was also probably my first tv crush as a young boy. 😊
Gabriel must be the worst child actor ever, absolutely awful. Very wooden. The only thing I didn't like about the show
Why were you so stupid stretching the latest photos of the cast. That is a ridiculous idea that has no place in visual presentation in a video that is supposedly informative and supposed to show the cast as they were and as they now are. Which it clearly does not.
Although Geoffrey Bayldon was born in Leeds, he did not die in Leeds. He died in Barnes, London.
What a stellar cast. Such a brilliant drama.
Good show
Where was the rock in it?
I'm watching the repeats now and enjoying every minute. The best part was when Robson and Jerome sang Unchained Melody.
Happy times it brought back great childhood memories along with Catweazle.
"Where are they now?" Answer on TPTV (Freeview Channel 82) tonight at 8pm. I never miss it.
I've seen Peter Firth's weener...
I've seen Peter Firth's weener...
Get on with it!...
Christian Rodska has passed on since this was made. :(
What about Tiger who played himself? We have to know!!
From Google 'The film stars Reg Varney and is set in a film studio. Evidently, Here Come the Double Deckers is one of the shows in production within the fiction of the film. Unfortunately the original stuffed tiger prop had been lost shortly after filming had been completed on the series, so a lookalike had to be used.'
a nun who plucked her eyebrows
My favourite show as a kid, get on board! ❤
The cast was perfect in this series, i especially loved John Nightingale as Tom, had he not died so young he would have done so many more brilliant things.
Budgie was made into a musical and it played in the West End in 1988. Adam Faith reprised his role from the series and Anita Dobson played his love interest Jean. It has some fun songs in it, but it only lasted 3 months at the Cambridge theatre.
Boys from the black stuff was and still is a fabulous and unique programme of episodes to watch. We only had 3 channels back then, and when this came about, it was magnificent. Being only 17 every body talked about this programme. Most of all the main person was yosser Hughes. I utterly and absolutely bow to BERNARD HILL for being this outstanding and gobsmacking character. Boy did he play and look the part. His performance you couldn't make it up.
RIP Yozza...
The final series was a let down ............. all about Jack Ford living in London, it took away from the whole atmosphere of the NE. It should have finished when he went to the states
Who performs this disco instrumental track? I like it, even if it had nothing to do with the original Mollyfoot.
Christian Rodska RIP passed away 21/03/24 from cancer
Kudos to writer John Sullivan
I enjoyed that, well done 👍
Kim Thomson's memorable line to Elmo when he asks her if she wants a toasted sandwich -"Don't be absurd!", still makes me howl with laughter, even after all these years. I was 19 in '86, in my first job and had a boss just like Lionel. Shame so many of em have gone now but glad we still have their work. I do love the British sitcom and Karl was great, not easy being the cheeky chappie and made the role his own. Loved the theme too, mellower times with no smart phones.
Middlewich was an ole queen
GEORGE INNES, as ALFRED JENNY TOMASIN as Ruby ANGELA BADDELEY as MRS Bridges -season 1 to season 5
