From October 2023 to May 2024, the Sointula Museum is open by appointment. Please call or text 250-230-9650, email [email protected], or reach out to us via Facebook and Instagram. The Sointula Museum explores the 122-year history of the settlement of Sointula. Its Utopian beginnings involved the development of socialist thought in Canada and the building of the commercial fishing industry, unions and cooperative economic structures. Through the years, a strong spirit of community has prevailed, still evident in the lives of the current residents who call Sointula home.' Admission is by donation.

Thank you for sharing ..I enjoyed listening to you all speaking ..I miss the Finnish ring..One thing that always makes me listen when I may be shopping and in another isle of the store I hear Finn being spoken..I stop and listen!! But I don't understand much anymore..A few words ..(sigh)...Well we have all changed and are getting older,,it's great to still be alive..It would be nice to come up again and see you all before I pass away, but not being in the best of health now..That will be a wish..and perhaps a regret ..that I didn't do it sooner...I wish you all the best in your remaining years..Love and hugs to you all..Norma Belveal (Nelson) ..2023
