    We made this challenge last month, took us 14hrs but we run and train everyday. Well done for doing this challenge without training!! The little mistake you did was that you start late. We start at 3am. The earlier you start is better. Well done again

  • @mattbertone

    Hey, I don’t remember the exact numbers but I definitely lost a good amount of weight for that day (around 5lbs). That’s because I did not properly prepare with eating sufficient amount of food throughout the challenge. I did not eat much that day, which I do not recommend haha

  • @alquinn8576
    @alquinn85762 ай бұрын

    57 miles does not sound right -- that would be ~3ft/step, when 2.4-2.6 is a normal range. I don't trust distance readings on step-counters since they don't actually try to measure distance, but impute it based on (often opaque) assumptions.

  • @mattbertone
    @mattbertone2 ай бұрын

    @@alquinn8576 the gps watch readings aren’t always perfect, but it’s definitely the most efficient way of measuring distance so I’ll take that trade off haha

  • @alquinn8576
    @alquinn85762 ай бұрын

    @@mattbertone actually, looking at your splits, it looks like things were reasonable early on (~1960 steps per mile at 40000 steps = 2.7 ft/step). later, when you started to walk on a treadmill, it probably switched it from gps tracking mode to an assumed step length method of measurement, which was having issues. from 70K to 100K, the implied step length is 3.4 ft/step, which can't be right. I'm estimating you walked ~51 miles assuming the 40K step split is representative. Not trying to nitpick; just was confused by this discrepancy. I've done 100K on a treadmill and have a measured distance I went (48 mi).

  • @mattbertone
    @mattbertone2 ай бұрын

    @@alquinn8576 gotcha, yea no worries. Honestly it would make the most sense that on the treadmill it wouldn’t be too accurate. And that’s awesome you did the challenge too! Thanks for the interest

    L&B fell off. I’ve been eating there for over 20 years. Seems like half the time I go I get a burnt pizza. Di Fara also isn’t as good as it used to be. If you want to try the best pizza in Brooklyn, go to Luigi’s on 5th Ave and 21st street. Krispy Pizza on 13th avenue and 71st is top notch also. Try the Trio.
