    Bronson is no joke if your'e a fan of Afterhours,or True Romance!I love the (opening credits)acknowledgement of the late great Don Simpson,Jerry Bruckheimer's old partner,He came up with Top Gun&Beverly Hills Cop,I enjoyed BHC AxelF,they really did the best they could-could've got Damon Wayan's-Banana Man:)I guess Bogamill retired after getting shot in BHC 2,but whatever happened to Jenny Sommers?The actress retired I believe.

    John Ashton played Eric Stoltz's Dad,convincingly in Some Kind Of Wonderful,he's a part of The John Hughe's Universe along with John Candy & Molly Ringwald!Midnight Run is stone cold classic:)

    It's all about the car. They've got nothing without the car...the car is just as much a character as Max is.

    9 years too late imo and no Max (not much) in the movie unfortunately little hope for the wasteland. Will have to play the game and/or watch the fan film Hope and Glory Also in this movies defence, it is structure differently to Fury Road in that it takes place over many years rather than Fury Roads couple of days

    They should make a spinoff movie of the 40 day war they had in this movie

    Crandall & Mercy should do a re-view check like their compadres at Red Letter Media,For example an older George Miller,like The Witches Of Eastwick would be perfect!Love supernatural Jack Nicholson pictures like that ,Wolf & The Terror!Peace:)

    But the feral kid became the leader of the town Max helped to liberate and was the Narrator in Road Warrior.

    This theory reminds me of Old Man Carl of The Walking Dead. Mad Max was supposedly always loosely connected, inspired by the "Dollars Trilogy" same actors playing different characters, reoccurring objects not really connected, etc. Initially hearing this theory, I immediately disregarded it, however, after hearing all the points years later, considering the movies already loosely connected, and you have to jump through hoops to maintain continuity anyways, I feel this theory enriches the world for me, and is now my head-canon. I imagine at some point, decades surviving hell on the road, and using "Max" as his name, he'd distance himself from the identity and rule a tribe peacefully, telling the legends of the original Max and his secret life as "Max."

    My favorite is John Wick 2 amazing action but not too much like 3 and 4, also knowing more about the Continental lore was great as well.

    I tried watching the show it’s like a typical pi show, but it’s hard to get through for sure, even though I got through six million dollar man. So I didn’t like this movie, like parts of it, but a misfire in my opinion, but maybe a sequel or trilogy could be better then it’s source material. I thought Ryan goseling did a good job, just the script and some parts of the movie wasn’t that grays, will you review dead rec now, the villian was kind of crappy and he’s the new bond I don’t buy it sorry for the long message

    Fun discussion. I don't agree that it's so bad that it's kind of enjoyable. It has such weird pacing and that awkward silent stretch and discordant tonal elements with costumes and song styles, that it ends up being both bad _and_ boring. Whatever small bits are enjoyable are outweighed by the tedium. I'd rather watch a Circuit City new employee introduction video or a 1979 lawnmower repair video because those would be on topic and therefore kind of interesting. I think this is why people like the commercials on the bootleg tape, but hate the Special. edit: the Star Wars Holiday Special is that specific kind of frustration, disappoint, and boredom that you feel when you're the only car in a fast food drive through and have waited for 10+ minutes.

    Only thing with theories as good as this is that i'm going to be really, really disappointed if it isn't true. A similar thing happened with Metal Gear Solid 5 where fans had a great theory that Venom Snake was actually Grey Fox, and in all honesty should have been, because it was better than what Kojima gave us. But back to Feral Max Fury Road, did you notice that when he runs off into the dark to take out some bad guys, he does actually grab a boomerang 🤷

    Would be dope if the sequel to furiosa aka wasteland was basically showing how feral maxs tribe was destroyed while giving clues to where the real max might be. Setting up a potential reunion between the feral max and mad max in a fury road sequel and or final chapter. Imagine those two taking up with furiosa! Miller would be fool not to write that script!

  • @fresnoniiji
    @fresnoniijiАй бұрын

    If they had youtube in the star wars days i guarantee there would be a theory out there about vader being Luke's father lol

  • @fresnoniiji
    @fresnoniijiАй бұрын

    The narration from feral kid at the end of road warrior says he never saw him again but if his tribe was indeed wiped out prior to fury road that means that fury happened after that narration. So its highly possible he could see Max again.

    WAIT a minute...HArdymax isnt MAX at all..THATS actually MADMAX;s son..remember SPROG survived ...thats SPROGmax...so yes..hes MAX junior!!!...that to me makes WAY more sense....and SPROG max should meet OLD max at some point in the future...that could be the FINAL story?...and they fight SIDE bye side!!!!...imagine the EPICNESS!!

    George Miller brought up that he has a backstory for Max/Ferel (he calls him Mad Max) in “The Wasteland” prequel to Fury Road. Maybe they will reveal this which would connect everything and open a door for Mel to return in an epic way. (I’m only 5 min into the podcast upon commenting but excited to finish so if you talk about this I haven’t heard it yet. This topic/podcast episode is still relevant now in 2024 with Furiosa coming out in a day.

    I enjoyed D and D for what it was. I wasn’t expecting Lord of the Rings. I think fantasy is difficult to pull off given the dynamics of the film industry in 2023. Even by Elijah Woods own admission the original LOTR trilogy was a perfect example of right place, right time, it was before the MCU-izartion of films but post the introduction of the modern blockbuster woth films like JAWS and Star Wars. But it was coming off a period of film where wither driven dramas had been the flavor of the week in Hollywood. Budgets weren’t so out of control and studios where willing to take a risk on a passion driven auteur helmed trilogy. That is not the case today

    Omg I've been watching you guys on & off since around 2011 & I've always loved your reviews so much! Love X-Men 97 & agree with everything both of you have said about the show. At first I wasn't THAT excited about the continuation of the show because of how modern Hollywood is now but it's some of the best writing on tv animation or live action.

    It's true Dan Aykroyd carried the picture,He's so the real deal,Loved him since forever,The Unbelievable,a show he just did for History Channel is amazing-Long May He Run! Having said that-I had problems with the Phoebe-Ghost sub-plot-specifics-Her self-deleting herself in that Lab-kinda weird?-Unnecessary B-Plot Material as mentioned by Crandall in his review-now that's Armchair Directing that would've helped the picture,Always Be Well,Gentlemen:)

Loved it then since your joint review of Terminator 2 (that’s going WAY back) and still love the commentary you two are putting out today. Just want to say thanks for all the content you’ve put out (much of which I need to catch up on) and wishing you both good health and success. Cheers guys. Ps. Cheers guys! Somewhat unsurprising to hear the Mario movie was nostalgia bait. Some of my friends and family were on me to give it a watch but I had this funny feeling and avoided it. On a positive note, hoping Dune 2 lives up to expectations. If you haven't seen the popcorn bucket for that movie give it a search, it's hilarious.
