I'm quite sure Alejandro is based on a real character or a collection of characters. It is well known how the CIA helped establish the Colombian cartels and controls the Mexican ones. Such great film making and fantastic acting.

I love how the movie makes it look like the FBI are the good guys! They are nothing more than the personal paramilitary group for the scumbags in DC. Going after the cartels? They have intentionally opened up our Southern border so the Cartels are now in charge of the American border. I have to say, even though it was Alejandro, when Fausto said, "Not in front of my boys", I wasn't prepared for what came next. 🫣 When Alejandro said, "Don't forget about my daughter", the wife immediately knew how this was going to end. In one horrible moment, she knew the bill had come due for the lifestyle that she had enjoyed. A Mexican Carmela Soprano 😥
