  This is why you shouldn't learn from people who aren't actual teachers. She doesn't say "今天晚上", she says "今晚", which is a different number of syllables. You can't use this as listening practice if you don't know what syllables you're supposed to be hearing.

  Your mom proves that we can be loving with gays! It’s her way of just not allowing herself to feel the disgust that the gay lifestyle brings. Confucius, Mencius, Mo and Buddha knew how important love is. Truly loving gays is to show them that God wants us to make children. But Jesus warned us about today’s out of control situation. We must love gays, provide loving care for them but always remember that they should be changing their lifestyle and not consider “conservatism” to be ignorance or simply wrong. Pray for gays, but try to avoid PRIDE rallies! This is the only way to truly show them how important it is to worship our God . Shou Shou’s mom is secretly a bit uninformed, but a gem of a person!

  4th tone stands out because of its short and more sharp quality. The rest, especially in quick speech, people don’t pronounce carefully, but context helps, plus when speech slows down and in those places tones are spoken more carefully, it’s important not to confuse the listener by saying the tones wrong *in those audible places*.

  Are you going to share this video with your mom and dad? Although there is a lot of variation in the USA, my family is more like yours. In fact, the words seem trivial to me compared with behavior that demonstrates love. I think expressing worry is more the way we expressed our love outside of actions. My parents have been gone for almost 10 years now. Treasure yours! PS: I was so excited to hear you use 之一 . I just learned it, but I haven't heard anyone say it before! This is a lovely video.
