Side note I see Suzuki on many boats in the background. I know not Uber fast but how is the holeshot and performance that matters for average folks. Considering putting one on my 520C Ranger. Ty!
Heavy motor helps when running lithium batteries extra weight helps front end lift.
Do you think this will work on a pontoon?
Glad I found your channel. How busy are you? Need to repower. Thinking 250.
😂 Engineering background? In what? You say things like "irregardless" and state that "compressed air adds weight" to larger tires instead of just saying more rotational mass of a larger tire. I cant even finish this video...and i tried!! I trust the 'zuke brand but i cant take anything you say seriously with any degree of credit. Ill still drop a like though since you made me laugh a few times. 👍
Great video.
With the automatic stow, can you override that? For example, there are times in shallow water I may pick up the motor but just a smidge to get me out of the shallow water or often when loading the boat up on the trailer. To get over the initial trailer I like to pull up on the motor using the hand cable but keep going a little until the motor gets over the bunk - unsure if that makes any sense in writing. Ideally, I could pull up a smidge on the rope to slightly raise the motor to keep going in really shallow areas without it going into the stow position. Or can you pull up on the hand cable and just use your foot and steer some to override it without it going into stow? How high can you pull it up before it goes into the stow position? Thanks in advance for replies
Good analysis. "Irregardless" is not a word, btw. "Regardless" is sufficient.
This is the same concept of setup I utilize in my boat, my TM batteries are three 12v 100 ah lithium. More than enough battery power with a 12v125ah house battery and a Agm 31 north star staring battery with a power pole charge
Thats not bad as far as speed. For as dependable as they are it might be a good trade.
How much is a brand new one?
I have a Suzuki on my 2019 tuition ❤❤love it
You did a great job of getting me excited about owning one of these motors. Mine will power my Procat 240. Cheers!
What livescope mount was that?
Fish obsessed dominator ( quest version )
My 2023 250ss engine has been nothing but problems. Since the 1st week I’ve owned engine randomly breaking down. Susuki could have made it right and replaced it but the dragged me dealer to dealer for a year. Made 30 200 mile round trips back and forth to dealers. Put me through hell. Definitely didn’t get what paid for. Thought I’d share my experience.
BOO-HOO....
SHO 💯
I would of ran my big motor until the end
What is shaft diameter. can you get longer screws for Garmin mounts, or have to buy $30 square brackets and stainless bolts?
Didn't try bigger screws, cause we ordered new mounts from Fish Obsessed. Most likely need a bigger bracket... but not 100%
If you are replacing the old Ultrex with the Quest will the mounting holes line up or do you have to drill new holes I do understand that the holes will have to be bigger
you can use the same mounting holes, but need to enlarge them.
What brand and where did you get the 360 adapter bracket?
That was from BBT (part number H-114)
Great review guys .. this helped me out a bunch..
Great review. The lack of slop is a huge deal. Some of the other Tm’s are sloppy Joe’s.
That was an excellent review by Jake and Blake. Thanks very much for all the features and benefits about the new improved Ultrex trolling motor. I wish I had one on my boat! I also loved Brandon’s on the water insight about the product- good stuff!👍🏻😊
Hey bro.. one question.. Do you know if I can put 2 engines of suzuki 250 kuro to 10 meters boat?
To the gear reduction you speak under the the powerhead for the drive shafts. On the 4.0 SS 250hp it’s 1.1. Btw hit the Zerk fitting where the shafts engagement. The gear reduction is like 1.2 or 1.23 on the 200SS.
Suzuki motors are extremely quiet at all RPM ranges compared to other outboards. Definitely a pro!
Can the secondary charge lead charge a 36v system? And does the 150hp have this option?
Invest in noco portable jumper.
I have a 2019 921 with a 2019 250ss the scorpion prop and I've had it loaded just me at 74mph on flat glass water
what pitch scorpion
27p
how much for 150 on a old ranger 362v 1995 I need a new one.
Being a little heavier may help with handling on that Phoenix, especially if you're running lithium's...from my experience anyway. 🤠
Did you just big tires weigh more because of all the compressed air in them??? 😂🤣🤣🤣... Just crackin on you... Love your content
I need one do y'all have it in a 225 ?
Currently the 225 is only available in mechanical shift. Suzuki hasn't updated that engine yet so no DF225A yet so it doesn't have some of the new features.
I repowered in 2020 with the Suzuki 250 SS on my 203 Champion 20 foot boat and is by far the best motor I have ever owned and I have owned all of the top brands. I now have 370 hrs on it with ZERO problems. I also run the 27 pitch Scorpion prop. Top end speed is 72 to 74 mph depending on fuel amount in the boat. I have thought about trading to a newer, but I really see no reason to do it.
What color is your 203? I would consider buying if you decided you want to sell
White hull with Burgandy cap. You might find it in my estate sale lol. @@brettherder3741
My 1998 champ 203 has a 225 optimax in it and I want a more reliable motor so I'm looking into Suzuki. They seem solid
I like the Suzuki motor and am planning on repowering sooner rather than later. However, I know this is off topic but I saw you were wearing sunglasses over your eyeglasses. What brand of sunglasses were they and what tinted lenses do you use for fishing?
Oakley - Color is low light brown
People have no idea how good Suzuki are ...
Shhhhsh the price will go up
I started with the Scorpion on my Nitro/Zuke rig, and it is the fastest prop. But the Nitro runs rough with the Scorpion, I found the Solas Lexor 4 blade (L4) gets much better stern lift and vastly improves rough water handling. Not sure how it would work with a Phoenix. Anyway, nice vid man.
@waylonlevins what Nitro do you own? I'm considering a zuke on mine...
I turn a 28 scorpion on my Gator Trax Strike and empty I hit 76, 72-74 loaded. I agree about the big water, I ran my boat on Leech lake chasing smallies and muskie last year. I was out running the deep v guys with a smoother ride on days we should NOT have been out there. I just switched to to a SMG4 gauge and should have done it immediately upon getting the boat. I can touch 3-3.5 mpg at 50 mph with my Suzuki.
Please give us some video on you out running deep V guys with your Jon boat in big waves on Leech I’d love to see it !!
@@glenndaugherity6187 it's not a jon boat it's a bass boat with pad. Strike series. 3080 lbs with 1/4 tank of gas
@@ericsieck1605 Hmm I know the boat let’s see some video ! I may be interested in one 👍
@@glenndaugherity6187 if I take it back up I will get a vid. I keep moving farther away from MN lol. I might have a vid somewhere of running across Milford lake in Kansas, that lake was always windy. I had a great video going until my go pro came off and is in the lake now
Great job describing it!!!
Not sure what you ran before, I have a 2012 250SS with 1400 hours and just purchased a new 2023 250SS to repower, Great job on information put out, And yes fuel economy is extremely important. I average 2.5 MPG on a big 25 Ft.bay boat (Dargel 250 HDX Kat)
suzuki and honda need to step up in the bass boat market. G2 was awesome but is gone and more brands that "work" on bass boats are needed
So if you had a mercury would you just run the massive 215 amp starter battery and hook all 3 to the powerpole charge and be done with it?
I am not a tournament fisherman but I hated running out of power with my 36v trolling motor. I troll a lot and use my 36v trolling motor for steering the boat as well as autopilot. I mostly fish alone for Salmon so I need the be able to have the boat moving while I rig the lines as well as well the boat needs to be moving while fighting the fish so the other line does not tangle. My set up for this year is 3 - 12v 100 Ah Lithium batteries connected in Series and 1- 12v 100 Ah Lithium battery to run my electronics and downriggers. I also installed a new 4-bank Lithium battery charger. I use 12v Lead Acid cranking battery to start my 150 hp and my 15 hp motors as well as running my live well and other boat accessories. I will never fun out of power to start my motors as they are always being charged either running to the site or while trolling. Hope this year is better.
Great video ! Why didn’t you just let your big motor run while fishing when the motor wouldn’t start ? And keep fishing.
that's what i have done
Hi, Thanks for the video!! If I have a Lead Acid battery on my big motor and a Lithium battery running my electronics where would you recommend a 2020 Mercury EFI 15HP get its power from? Im not sure if the 15 HP has an alternator that would help either battery. Thanks.
Nice setup. I run 5 Relion lithiums with 2 parallel for SHO and 4 Lowrance HDS (Gen 3) 12’s. (Fixing to drop 1-12 Gen 3 and add a new 12” Live Pro with AT2. 3 lithium s are for trolling motor. Haven’t seen or felt any issues. 🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️
very well thought out boat.... and I've watched A LOT.
Hi awesome video I have four 12s and livescope would a dedicated lithium 12 volt 100ah be ok
If you're sharing power with a powerpole charge, or an inline charger, 100ah would be enough. By itself, 100ah, would require power management... i.e. turning off graphs at console when not in use, reducing screen brightness. That kind of stuff. Hope that helps.
I can’t wait till all you toolboxes stop blacking out every thing and the huge wheels so they ride rough and bend rims
