  It is about 3 - 4 km from where the car stops. But that also depends on what time you would like to visit chandratal. Because the last portion of Chandratal Motorable road is not very fixed. Sometime you can reach the max point, sometimes you need to stop earlier. Please keep 2 -3 hours for the walk. The walkable road is safe. We have visited Chandratal on September 28. I would say , if you get any chance, please visit the place. You will feel to be out of the world.
